I didn't even realized this was a hotel restaurant; it is part of Hotel Rott. just down the street from Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square.
From their website:
Czech cuisine and cuisines of surrounding european countries are a base for the innovative and creative meals of our chef Michal Paulík. Using local food of a superior quality, he re-interprets, changes and completes tastes, colours and fragrances to make new, imaginative and surprising meals, full of tiny nuances. He composes his little masterpieces from herbs, usual and unusal vegetables, good meat, poultry and fish to make a sort of landscape on the plate.
My visit there did not disappoint....
My Meal;
Vegetable Salad - Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers in a light dressing - after 4 days of grilled meats and dumplings this was welcome change
Lamb shoulder, black cabbage, foam from chanterelles, coloured beans - ok don't let the description fool you this was amazing....tender lamb, chanterelle foam created a velvety sauce, bean of different shapes/size/colors topped with "black cabbage" tasted like Kale.
Chocolate cake with pistachios, sea buckthorn, raspberry sauce - Rich...perfect way to send the meal
Got to taste the following:
Fried brioche with goat cheese, cranberry gel, orange emulsion - seems a bit boring but the cheese was in the middle of a tiny square of brioche fried to perfection and a fruity sauce. If I get to go back that's my app!
Duck leg confit, potato dumplings, red cabbage jam - basic dish right...not really...yes the confit was perfect...but the dumpling were not just the boiled bread they were stuffed with a savory bacon & onion jam. Also, on the plate was a take of a traditional dish who's name I won't try to type but it was a bread pudding square of savory stuffing with pork....YUM!!!
It's a bit spendy for the restaurants in the touristy area but well worth it.
Perfect for client meeting. Café in the front might have more budget friendly options.
Down stairs before you hit the restrooms there is HUGE private #meeting space/dinning.
I would highly recommend this place for business and/or pleasure! read more
