Bring a big appetite. I ordered the set of a traditional savory crepe along with a drink and the dessert crepe. The savory crepe, ham and cheese, was so big that I was only able to eat about a quarter of it. Yeah, but you know I had to try the dessert crepe. It was hazelnut and well worth getting. Sadly, after a couple of bites I absolutely couldn't eat anymore. Definitely, go here for great traditional crepes along with their specialty crepes.

The Lyonnaise woman who owns the place is pleasant and efficient. I wish we'd stayed longer in Lyon so that we could have come here more often. This is a place I would definitely frequent if I lived in the area.

Although the cheese was a little rich on the savory crepes, the veggies were cooked well and the fried egg on top was a nice touch. The sweet crepe was simple but very delicious. I would be interested to try the other creperies and see how La Marelie stacks up against the others.

I ordered the chestnut cream but got chestnut purée instead (bad English translation on their menu). Not a wise choice to go with this crepe without some whipped cream. Pretty Costly for a small snack (one order of crepe will NOT fill you up, maybe two will have you satisfied but possibly 3 orders to actually make you stuffed) but this is France after all. I would want to come back just once more to try another flavor of their crepe to see how the filling is. They seem to skimp a bit on the filling. Food: No complaints at all about the moules-frites, galette companion, crepe nutella, et grande bouteille de cidre brut. It was good! The mussels were plentiful, and the fries had a nice spice (paprika) and were hot out of the fryer. (I'm gluten free so didn't try the rest of the food, but my date cleaned his plate.) We washed it all down with the cider, which was really good. Ambiance: Cozy is the word. It's small, and the smell of the kitchen is strong, but it added a bit to the experience. Rustic-chic and unassuming. Service: Well, we were served. It was not quick or attentive, but honestly, it was fine.
