I had two different types of tailoring done and both were great. I needed two pairs of pants hemmed. The two pairs were identical just different colors so I thought they would only need to pin up one. They explained that although the pants are supposed to be identical, they probably aren't. And sure enough, they weren't so good call on their parts. The hems were perfect. I also needed a specialty zipper changed. I have a cover for a bike seat that has a medium duty zipper on it and the zipper had failed. I asked them if they could replace it with a heavy duty zipper and they said yes. Ok so I normally don't write many reviews but I just wanted to talk about a experience I had with Nu Way Cleaners this week. I used to go to another cleaners in the area because I work in La Canada 3 days a week, but last week I walked into this cleaners after I did my shopping at Ralph's. Anyway, what I liked most about my experience is how friendly the staff is, and how even the owner came to introduce himself because I was a brand new customer. I took a couple of my work suits, plus a tux I wore to a recent wedding, and everything was ready for pickup within two days. The clothes looked perfect, and I am actually very picky when it comes to pressing/steaming my expensive suits. Terrible service and sloppy workmanship. We dropped off several dress shirts for laundry service and were really disappointed in what we received back. Shirts had wrinkles in the oddest places and the sleeves were were incompletely pressed. The collars were pressed incorrectly causing them to not lie flat (see photos). Recently my fiance picked up my wedding dress from getting altered and apparently his man brain malfunctioned and he forgot that he had hung it on the car and was distracted with a phone call. When I received my dress I was absolutely distraught and I believed it to be completely ruined. As doing so, one of them realized a rip in the bottom on the dress and said not to worry since they have an alteration lady. I stopped by here a couple of weeks ago because one of my friends who lives in this area told me to go here and try them out. So I listened and when I arrived something was just different about this place and the energy and place was really nice. I arrived and it was a lady at the counter and she was very courteous and asked if I have ever been here before, in which I replied I have not but my friend told me to come here. Long story short I dropped off 3 of my suits and when I came back to pick them up. WOW. They were very clean and was very impressed with what Nu Way did. I am for sure going back here again and I recommend everyone to do the same thing. The way that they treat some customers over others is terrible. The lady at the desk couldn't even count 4 items that dropped I off, because, when I checked the receipt it showed 3 items. I immediately asked her why does it show only 3, then she said sorry, I just realized that there were 4 items. She gave me another receipt. I immediately became suspicious of their service and felt some foul play going on. She must have been thinking that I am stupid and may not pay attention to the receipt like many do. When I carefully read through the receipt, I found that she had said 4 wool slacks. Actually they are 4 cotton pants. Seems like they want to exploit those who they think are vulnerable and innocent. But, they are wrong and don't know how many have become victims of this corrupted, dirty business people. She also said they charge same amount for wool and cotton. Ha ha! She should try that with a 5 yr old and not an adult. She is actually a jerk! This is not the first time I experienced charging excessively for something that is very cheap, it had happened before too. Only reason, I had to go back to them after 5 yrs is that my regular cleaners are closed due to COVID. Can't believe people can be dishonest even during the time of crisis!!! read more

I think this is my first review on Yelp; certainly it's the first in years. But I have to say what a great thing happened here today. I have been going to this cleaners for probably 15 years or so. I am surprised by the reviews that say the ladies aren't friendly; they always are with me. Of course, I am friendly to them, so that perhaps earns some friendliness back. I've NEVER had a problem with this place. NEVER. But today was amazing. I took a suit of mine in to be dry cleaned two months ago, and forgot about it. (I've changed jobs in the last two years, so where I used to have to wear suits all the time, now I only have to wear them occasionally, so I don't keep aware of what's in and out of the cleaners as much as I did.) I remembered it today, so stopped by to pick it up. The woman was friendly, said "no problem" when I apologized for not having the ticket and for how long it had been, but the best part was when she brought me the suit. She also brought me a little envelope, which she tore open to show me what was inside. I have a beautiful antique gold heart-shaped locket that belonged to a female relative of mine who died in 1930 -- long before I was born. It has a picture of her and of one of her sisters in it. It was passed to me by the other sister, who herself died in 1993. I was wearing that locket for luck the last day I wore the pantsuit before I took it into be cleaned, and had totally forgotten about it. I didn't realize it was missing because I don't wear it much -- ironically because I'm afraid I'll lose it. They had found the locket on the suit, removed it to clean the suit, and held it in the envelope to return to me when I came to pick it up. I was really impressed. I thanked them profusely. It's sad, I suppose, that one is surprised by such honesty these days. These people have my business until either I move out of town or they do. read more
