They're fast, cheap and dependable... During the last few months, a side business that my friend and I started has become somewhat successful. And with extra business comes the first step of legitimacy...a business card. So, since this was my first attempt at getting a business card made, I had no idea where to go. My first stop was the local Kinko's which I found somewhat helpful, but for whatever reason, I didn't feel comfortable that they were going to get the job done. After talking to a few different buddies, my friend Matt, who was getting married in a few months, told me about Nu Print and how good of a job they did on printing his "save the date" wedding thing a ma bobs. Since Matt's sense of detail and organization is akin to mine, I decided to give them a try. I went in and spoke to a Wilson who was extremely helpful and friendly. He was clear, concise and to the point. Exactly what I like in a counter person. I don't want to sit there and bullshit. I want to get straight to the point and get my job started. Once he told me the pricing and turn-a-round time, I was floored. Not only were his prices decent, but the next day delivery time was perfecto. If I were the Fonz, I would have given him two thumbs up. Anyways, needless to say, I dropped off my file and looked forward to picking up the order the following day. I was not disappointed. Again, great customer service at time of pickup. The business card came out perfect and I will gladly come back here again when I need to print another run. I used Nu Color a year ago when I was sending out some invitations to an event and I wanted them to be nicely printed. I had ordered nice custom invitations with non-standard size envelopes, and I had a spreadsheet of the names and addresses. I described what I wanted to do - and they basically took over from there. We measured the envelopes, they worked with me on a mail merge into Word to get the layout right, and then they test printed one to show me what it looked like. Once I approved it, they ran the whole file. They even re-printed a couple that I didn't like the look of - even if it was my fault because those addresses were longer than the others and I messed up the layout. The entire process took about 45 minutes - and they had no idea I was even coming. I was so impressed that I was willing to pay whatever they charged. They even made a joke with me - the guy said "that'll be $220". I said 'ok' without even hesitating - it was totally worth it. And then he started laughing and said "I'm just kidding. $54 all in." They are located in the back of the strip mall with a Trader Joe's (enter off Laurel Canyon to make it easy), and there's plenty of parking on that side, right outside their entrance. It's not often I need something like this, but they've earned a customer for life. read more

I have used Nu-Print in the past and although there work is adequate, they, by far, are NOT cheap. as of 7/20/09 I needed a 24X36 Poster, I called several printers who charged $4.00 a square foot. On Friday afternoon, I went to Kinko's in Studio City to get 130 booklets made for my father's memorial service. There was no line ---but also no one at the full service counter. I waited for 15 min while they handled all the fedex customers on both sides of me, some who had come in after me. They said these customers were a priority because of the 5:30 pm deadline. Finally, and only after complaining to a manager, they got around to me only to say 10 min later that the WORD doc I had on my flash drive was incompatible. 30 minutes totally wasted. I used YELP to find another source within walking distance, which turned out to be Nu-Color. I walked in just before closing time but Wilson and the others didn't act put out, and immediately took my order, printed out a perfect proof and told me I could have the order on Saturday morning---even though they are usually closed on Saturday. The job was done on time, turned out perfectly, and was A LOT less than the price Kinko's quoted me. read more

I had no idea how I was going to print on the thick matte let alone get it perfectly fitted on the matte.
