There is always something going on -- definitely check the event calendar. We've attended Taylor Swift Night, Minion Night, Santa Claus Night, and even just a regular Saturday skate, and every time the vibe has been great. The energy feels fresh, organized, and family-friendly, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into the events they plan. They also do fun drawings and giveaways, which makes the nights even more exciting. We've entered a few times and have actually won -- my daughter won a Taylor Swift album and magazine on our last visit, which absolutely made her night. I know this place used to have mixed reviews in the past, but it truly feels like a whole new chapter. If you haven't been in a while, I highly recommend giving it another try. Miya did real well hosting especially since it seemed she was responsible for multiple party's on her own. We waited maybe an hour for pizza, allowing guests to skate a nice amount before eating. Miya also helped light the candles and hand out pieces of the cake. I would book another party here for sure.

This is a very small facility; I've never seen a smaller roller rink. There should have been a cap of how many people allowed in, because it made skating and just moving around inside so difficult. Everything looks at least 30-40 years old here, our booth was wobbly and unstable. The carpet was old and stained. It was very challenging to move around on the carpeted areas, but also the rink, due to the extreme number of people in the building. I felt like I was in a packed bar or club. I can't overstate that there were way too many people and children. The rink itself is painted concrete, which I've never seen before. It is somewhat uneven, you can feel the small rises and falls in the concrete, but it's not too severe. There were A LOT of children with the little PVC skate-aid things, but skating as an adult was made extremely challenging & nearly impossible because of this. The music they played was fun, and there was some interactions from the DJ, like a backwards skate only, and "all girls only skate," and then "all boys only skate," for a song each. I did like that there are ceiling fans over the rink, to cool you down. The ceiling felt really low, which I think made the whole place feel even smaller. The bathrooms were pretty clean and well stocked, but I didn't like that there were no hooks on the bathroom stall doors. They did let me bring my water bottle in, which I appreciated. There were lockers, but we didn't rent one. Overall, this place is probably fine if you're a kid, but terrible if your an adult skater looking to skate. Go to United Skates or America on Refugee instead!!

Then when I said he needed to apologize for kicking him out for being himself. The bigot called the cops. He said I was being threatened and aggressive. At that point my wife started film due to the fact he was lying trying to get me assaulted by the cops. Thankfully another employee was able to discuss it calmly with me. When the cops arrived the unprofessional charles/nick didn't say word expecting the cops to be aggressive. Vandalia cops did an amazing job though. Even apologizing to me outside. Terrible place. Hey nick it's 2021 gay kids aren't targets anymore. The kid isn't my son but these kids need protected from these type of people.

Once inside it is older decor but appears clean. Prices are ok and not crazy for skating. Did not try nor see the food prices. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Biggest issue is the skating floor which is in very poor shape. I have never been to a rink with this type of floor. It appears it is plywood covered with an epoxy. It is very uneven and you can see the seams of the sheets of plywood bending up making the floor horribly uneven. Makes skating much more difficult with the floor in poor condition. Most rinks I have been to have the better basketball court style flooring covered in varnish. Kids had fun skating but this place could use some updating.

The floor is great, perfectly smooth and level, no ruts or problems. The skate rental works smoothly, though the rental skates themselves are pretty shabby - could use an upgrade on those! But they weren't bad enough to interfere with our skating or ruin turns or anything. We had a great time. Music was good. The two young men DJ-ing and patrolling the floor were friendly and not jerks like at some roller rinks, and they did their job well. About halfway through they led a limbo game that was really fun, and then later did hokey pokey and then speed skate times. I was glad for the games to mix it up and the nostalgia for doing limbo and hokey pokey at the roller rink when I was a kid. The place was clean, and there were tables next to the snack bar where parents or other non-skaters could hang out. The owner seemed very nice and welcoming. Other patrons were friendly and pleasant, no problematic people came. Great experience, looking forward to coming back.

They have done major upgrades since the last time I was here (years ago.) It's got big screens, black lights, a quality music system, a party room, a snack bar, a place to buy memorabilia, staff monitoring the floor, even walkers for those that are new to roller skating. They use a bit much bass in the speakers which is fine for the music but difficult to understand the announcers. It gets a recommend from me.
