Really Great Unexpected Experience! If your looking for a company who doesnt give you any BULL, Its them. I didnt know what my problem really was when i lost all the power in my basement and they sent someone over the same day, and this was late afternoon mind you, He pretty much fixed the problem right then, I explained how important it was that the basement had power, (I had to get laundry done) and instead of explaining everything then pricing, then paying to get my power back, he did it within 10 miniutes of getting there!!! AMAZING and since it was so short he only charged me for the evaluation!! Not only that but after the lights were back on, he explained how they were the old toxic mercury bulbs and seeing as my basement ceiling wasnt very high it could have been potentially hazardous!... He was able to change out the lights with LED tubes and WOW I saw the basement in a whoile new light! It was so dim before I never really liked going down there now its one of the brightest rooms in the house, and theres way less fixtures, And it saved us money on our LIPA bill !!! It was just an experience i didnt expect. In all: The guy didnt give me any of the runaround with the estimates and taking extra time to do this and that, when most other people just waste time and charge you for practically doing nothing! HIs experience with lighting and effiencey was just outrageous and the fact that he did so with no pressure on me to convert the lights... Jason was the most genuinely honest, and helpful electrician, ive ever met. I would even say Passionate! about what he does. Overall with the company, and my experience:: Not intimidating, and right upfront you knew you werent going to get the runaround. I used Yelp to find NSW electrical and was very pleased with the electrical work done in my home as well as the service. The work done in my home was replacement of electrical panel, replacing 2 prong electrical outlets with 3 prong electrical outlets, installation of dimmer & non dimmer switches, installation of a ventilation fan in powder room, installation of new outlets in the bathroom, installation of lighting fixtures & a ceiling fan light fixture. Jason was very thorough in explaining what could and could not be done in my home. He was good at troubleshooting issues he encountered once he started the work. He was able to make recommendations for items I can purchase. He was also very patient with me when I had questions or needed something repeated or clarified. Every once in a while a home owner gets lucky and finds an honest, well qualified and down to earth individual to do work needed! When you do, you keep them! This exactly what I found in Jason! My wife and I moved into out new home and I needed the garage wired to run my wood working power tools with enough power and amps that would not flip any switches, winter or summer! Jason listened to my needs and asked questions to clarify my needs and made recommendations to improve my needs! One of those was adding a home power surge protector in order to protect our investment in the home and power tools! Jason put the plan together, went over it with me and I gave the Ok! NSW Electrical is the best electrical contractor (and contractor in general) that I have dealt with so far since buying my house. I contacted Jason about providing an estimate for ugrading my garage to 240V and he was at my house the next day. He was patient, waited to hear all my questions and suggested the best course of action. He then provided an estimate the next day (Saturday) through email, and included explanations on the charges. The work performed was up to standard/code and he threw in some additional freebees like a garage light and sensor and a backyard sensor. When everything was done, he also helped me mount my new Grizzly table saw and tested it to make sure it was working. Complete profesionalism from beginning to the end. Jason and Richard with NSW did an amazing job for me. I needed someone to put an electrical outlet on my stone fireplace and afterwards mount a 65 inch TV on it. This required fishing a wire through the attic and carefully cutting into the stone. They managed to do this without removing or damaging any stones ( except a small stone where they carefully cut and placed the outlet). They showed up right on time and when I first contacted them I received a reply on a timely basis. And I felt like what I was charged for this work was very reasonable. When they were finished with the job they vacuumed and cleaned everything up. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I called NSW Electrical on Friday 8 pm after they closed. Jason was so accommodating and showed up 30 mins later to troubleshoot my power lost issue since that affect me and my tenant upstairs. He checked my panel and found the issues were from the outside power line and he was able to temporarily restore all the power I lost by changing a few things on my panel. What a life saver!  I called Con Ed and they came next day to repair their problem.  After that I called Jason to come back and reverted my electrical back to original set up. He didn't charge me an arm even he came after work hours. Very satisfied with his service and will recommend to all my friends! read more

I finally found my go to electrician. Jason did an excellent job fixing our outdated closet lighting system. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and explains what he is going to do a head of time. he quickly diagnosed and resolved the problem right away. He is very trustworthy and his experience shows in the quality of work he provides. We talked about other projects in the house that he could do, and anything electrical he can take care of including wiring of home theater. Why I will hire Jason again after using four different electricians this year alone: 1. He is not money-hungry. I know my electrical box is a mess. Others were saying "this needs to be replaced". Jason said: "It looks messy but it works and it's safe. Don't spend your money on this. 2. He is a nice guy. Not aggressive. Patient. Willing to redo things if necessary. 3. Sat morning I tried what shoulda been a simple DIY I ended up somehow shorting out a circuit in my main panel which caused ALL power to be lost. HOT HOT day but Jason was at house in 45 min.
