Despite visiting years ago, it took living here for a month for me to learn its name or explore inside. It wasn't until one of my new friends invited me along for a classical music performance that I became acquainted with it. I heard that it's a rarity to be able to attend a concert in the church, but I also heard the opposite, so I'm not actually sure. Either way, if you have the extra funds and want to experience some local, albeit touristy, culture, be sure to book through Via Musica. The ticket cost me around $38 (935 crowns...NOT cheap!!) but I think it was worth it for a one-time visit. I spent most of the 65-minute concert mesmerized by the church itself. Faces everywhere. Gold everywhere. Intricate designs. Unreal beauty. It was such an amazing experience! It was also cold. Keep in mind it's a very old church. Even though it's indoors, it's not like they have central heating so you'll still feel the elements. Dress appropriately! And be sure to arrive early for a good seat. If you're visiting Prague, don't miss a trip inside this church. Classical concert or not!

Ah, the famous Astronomical Clock Tower in Old Town Hall square! For years, I've always wanted to…read morevisit Prague to see this. When I first arrived, I did not realize it was almost noon, so the crowd was HUGE and CRAZY, and I didn't understand why until I realized at at the top of every hour, the windows open and the puppets of the 12 Apostles pass through and people want to watch them. The crowd is definitely MUCH MORE manageable after that, and I came back several times for more attempts to take photos in front of the clock until I got some that I'm happy with! It's the symbol of Prague, smack dab in the touristy area, and easy to walk from to head off to many other tourist sites in the city!

It is arguably the busiest part of the actual town square due to the huge masses of tourists and some locals who are here to snap photos and take pictures of that impressive landmark. There are opportunities to go up the building and get some really gorgeous views of the town square and Prague itself. It's really hard not to appreciate the beautiful architecture and views in this area. Note - town square aside, which features a lot of local kiosks and food - a good deal of shops in this area are pure tourist traps and sell a lot of useless junk, unless you're a fan of cheap shitty t-shirts, bags and magnets. However, there are plenty of gems that you can find and this place isn't far in terms of walking distance from other historic and better shopping areas in the city.

We had multiple servers who were so attentive. In addition, there was a pianist on an acoustic piano playing nice music (NOT an electric keyboard w/boom chicka booms). I started with their soup of the day-cauliflower. The picture doesn't do it justice. We each ordered the filet mignon which came with roasted potatoes and a salad. The meat portion was huge and there were plenty of potatoes. To finish I had a crème brûlée, my favorite dessert. It did not disappoint. Overall, it was a lovely dinner and then after we went upstairs to a string concert. A great night.

Let me tell you that she was so rude, as in she didn't even acknowledge our existence and totally stared and turned her head away. For an establishment in the middle of a tourist center open during breakfast hour, maybe have a cup or two of coffee so you don't become so rude. A few days in Prague, and by far, this was the rudest encounter. Everywhere else, they were super nice.

While I do love a good European tower with 100s of steps, this interiors of each floor weren't too exciting, and the views from the top weren't all that exciting. If you're limited on time, you can skip going up there, and just admire the architecture from the outside.

"For a time during the Second Anti-Hussite Crusade, he held almost ultimate authority over the lower classes in Prague. "After his defeat in the Battle of Brüx in 1421, Želivský was removed from command. On 9 March 1422, during the civil wars between the various Hussite factions, he was arrested by the town council of Prague and decapitated.
