Powder Tower Power!
This grand tower was once intended to be the entrance to the town of Prague. It's been used by emperors and kings as part of the coronation process. Later, it was used to store gunpowder, so it got this name.
It's a pretty amazing tower, covered in sculptures, ornateness, and flourishes.
When I went, there was a bucket drummer who got stopped by the police for being a nuisance. Cheers!
Apparently, for a small fee, you can climb up the steep stone stairs several flights of stairs, and get a grand view of everything. It's a great walk from here through Old Town Square to the Charles Bridge. read more
