My most charitable guess is that you came to my house when I wasn't home, without contacting me first, and saw a 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser project sitting by my shop and somehow could not tell the difference between the two cars and still wouldn't call or ask any questions. If you answered your phone or called anyone back this could have been sorted out in 2 minutes! This has been a ridiculously frustrating experience and very unprofessional behavior. I called him to sort it out and he cussed and yelled at me and wouldn't listen to a thing I said. This was shockingly horrible behavior.

Since the weather was cooling, I knew I needed to get it repaired so the crack wouldn't expand further. I turned to trusty Yelp to find somewhere to go and came across this gem. Eugene Windshield Repair was able to get me in the next day, and the repair itself only took about 25 minutes. All the employees I interacted with were very kind and professional. They explained that they could go through my insurance if I wanted (since it was just a chip, I opted to pay out of pocket, a very reasonable $75), and all about the lifetime warranty. They also sent me out the door with a care package that included some clear stickers in case I ever get another chip so I can keep the dirt out, plus a coupon for a free coffee at The Human Bean! A great local business that I would return to if I ever get another chip.

MK responded with a price point that was agreeable and we set a time and day for them to come over. This was a new experience for me because I'm used to pulling into a brick and mortar building for automotive issues. Well, MK Auto Glass is more of a portable service which probably helps keep costs down. They came to my home with everything they needed in a company van. The service tech obviously knew what he was doing. He went about his business very professionally in removing various components to access the glass, specialized tools for removing and cleaning off old sealants and debris, cleaning off the framework, wiping and applying new sealants.... This was one of those situations where they are displaying total competence and quality workmanship. The job is done and all is perfect with the new glass, including realigning the rear view mirror. Later noticed a plastic piece of my door missing and whenever the door is closed you can hear all the broken glass inside it rattling around. The careful, highly skilled (and very friendly and communicative) staff and technicians at Bill's Glass did a STELLAR job with a new windshield, including removing the remnants of a quite sloppily done replacement, from several years previous. They also noticed how ill-fitting our windshield wipers were (aftermarket from Costco) and replaced those with CORRECT, lower profile blades. They are a delight to do business with. I recommend WAY WAY over "Safelight" or other shops.

Most importantly, he explained steps Bill's Glass was taking to improve the customer intake process in Ashland. Jim's intervention addressed my issues with the Ashland shop and has restored my faith in buying local. Initial one-star review: Do yourself a favor and work with Bill's Glass in Medford instead. I'm not going to identify/shame the individual by name, but the person responsible for intake in Ashland is incompetent, and you'll find yourself frustrated with the shop's inability to provide basic customer service. They make commitments, fail to meet them and then just make excuses. Sorry, I know it's inconvenient to have to travel to Medford when we have a Bill's glass in town, and I believe it's important to support local businesses. But without dramatically improved customer service in Ashland you will be frustrated and, several weeks later wind up going to Bill's in Medford anyway.
