Skilled work, poor accountability…read more The hard water spot removal on my car was genuinely impressive -- that part of the work was excellent. But after the detail, I found cloudiness on both mirrors and rippling in my windshield that weren't there before (I have dated photos proving the mirror condition, plus documentation from before this service that my windshield had no hard water exposure). I was initially told the mirror cloudiness was likely pre-existing internal delamination, unrelated to their service, though they ultimately agreed to replace both mirrors. Separately, I was told the windshield had permanent hard water etching and needed full replacement -- repairs that would likely have cost over $1,000 (this model ideally should have OEM glass, which is what I had when they performed the detail, and manufacturer camera calibration, which pushes cost above a typical windshield, but even non-OEM runs around $700-800). Three independent professionals (two detail shops and a glass specialist) all confirmed the rippling effect was actually residue from a topcoat product improperly cured during the detail, and two of them removed some of it for a combined $25, with the rest expected to wear off naturally. The representative I spoke with, TJ, held to the original diagnosis even after I brought back that information and documentation. The shop sent me $35 total, for the topcoat removal by the other shop, including an unsolicited $10 "for the inconvenience" -- which didn't even cover my gas driving to the other shops -- and wouldn't refund the tip I'd left before noticing the damage. Ultimately, I had a cross-country trip planned requiring long highway drives, and the residual distortion turned out to be enough of a safety concern that I had to replace the windshield myself, at my own expense, rather than wait for it to fully wear off. Great work removing hard water spotting from the paint, but be cautious and get a second opinion if they tell you something needs an expensive fix. If you do take a chance on this shop, document your vehicle's condition before dropping it off, in case you need it later.
