The last time I was there I saw Dr. Oluremi Ogunsanya for a consultation, and I have to say it was among the most unpleasant encounters I have ever had with a medical professional. Dr. Remi, as he was introduced to me, badgered me, treated me like a child, questioned my referring dentist's diagnosis/credentials and just generally acted like a rude, arrogant teenager. He never even looked in my mouth. I ended up getting my referral back and going to a place that is way less convenient simply because a) if I want to get yelled at, I will ask my boss to extract my tooth, b) he seemed pissed off at me in a way that felt almost personal, although based on other reviews out there, it appears to just be the way he is, and c) I didn't want to give him any of my money. When I went back for the referral and a copy of my X-rays, I could tell from the front desk employees that I was not the first, even though I never said a word about why. And I see other reviews right here on Yelp that have to be about this same doctor. Dr. Amrani is great, but I would be wary of Dr. Ogunsanya.

Not only a broken capped root canal that needed extraction but a big infection in the gum. Dr. Johnson and his nurse explained my options and what I could expect pain wise. I chose the injection of local pain killer. The tooth came out effortlessly but the infection as expected caused some pain. Dr. Johnson addressed it quickly and perfectly and I was able to continue without sedation. I have nothing but excellent praise for the staff,the surgeon, and the facility which should be noted was spotless immaculate, that you could eat of the floors. The young man at the front desk, who made the appointment possible, is gracious and helpful. Amazing. But his youngish female assistant, a native Russian speaker who is also fluent in English, is perhaps the most stunningly rude and condescending person I've ever encountered in a healthcare setting--and I've met more than my share. Apart from her sneering affect, she made unwarranted, vicious little personal comments. She interrupted me when I asked a few routine questions, snapping at me as if I were a "bad dog." And she made it clear--loudly--that my insurance would not cover necessary follow up procedures and challenged me to come up with cash. WOW. I mean, WOW!

I went to Marine Park Periodontics for X-Rays and a consultation related to implant surgery…read moreapproximately 4 months ago. I was going to need 2 implants. X-rays were taken and I was told the implant surgery could not be done until after 3 months, since I recently had both of the teeth that would be replaced with implants extracted. I was then introduced to the person who was in charge of financial matters. We discussed cost and she provided me with a written estimate for the cost of both implants which totaled $4,290. I was later informed by another dentist that I consulted, that the estimate I was given by Marine Park Dental did not include the cost of the 2 crowns and 2 abutments that were a necessary part of implant surgery. I then contacted Marine Park Periodontics and asked to speak to the woman who had given me the original cost estimate. I was informed she was not available and was put on hold for quite a while. I was then told that someone would call or text me with the additional costs. The same person who told me this, did call me back after an hour or so and informed me that the total cost for the crowns and abutments would be $4,000. Therefore, the total cost I originally discussed and was given to me by the woman I spoke to at the office should have been $8,290. That's basically double the difference in cost that I was originally given. I feel I was totally duped because she was obviously very misleading when we originally spoke concerning the actual cost of the ENTIRE procedure. Thankfully, I never started the procedure at Marine Park Periodontics. If 8,000 is the going rate for 2 implants I'd rather pay that money to an office that is up front about the TOTAL cost from the beginning. Shame on them! My advice, proceed with caution and get EVERYTHING up front and in writing before proceeding with this office.
