I was like a kid in a candy shop, I'll bring it closer to home, a senior in a surgical Shop. I started looking at what else I may be able to use or as a point of reference to let someone else know what they have in store. The service is top tier and it shows. I was nicely greeted and waited on. I didn't see what I was looking for so I asked. Just giving a fare chance and to avoid going elsewhere. Someone came from the back to find me a foot spa. Words mean something.. I was asking for a foot pan so they placed the foot pan and a foot spa on the counter and let me choose. I will most definitely be back to shop here because I saw a price for an item that was $21 and I paid $39 . The value and prices are more accommodating here. For the record!! I do recommend Hollis Drugs & Surgical Supplies. WHY? They have affordable prices, good quality product, and very good customer service, but the important reason is, availability. There is no fancy signage, any promotions, or loyalty cards to scan here. It's a small spot with just enough aisles of drugs of all kinds for your issues. No lie, most of the stuff feels a tad more pricey than the other well known pharmacies, but I'm guessing that's because they're more mom and pop than corporate drug pusher. All good, at least they take credit card. Street parking at all times and the (Polish?) ladies behind the counter are nice. I would recommend calling in ahead of time to see if what you need is available though I don't think they quote prices over the phone.

They also took it upon themselves to contract out deliveries to a third party service. Wow, this service literally sends low IQ individuals to my building. Can't figure out how to get access to the building. They then proceed to call me up and speak in a different language which I don't understand since I believe we live in America. They finally get into the building and don't follow the signage to go to the left rather than go to the right. What's more, once they figure out they went the wrong way even though I tell them in English to go left, they make it up to my floor eventually and then can't find my apartment. On many of occasion, the pharmacy itself makes mistakes, and the delivery person, who could care less has no authority to rectify the issue. Nor will they call the pharmacy to rectify and absolve themselves of responsibility. There are plenty of other small pharmacies in woodhaven that I have to choose from. I was using Healthmax because they supposedly have a good reputation. However, I do not believe that to be true. If they don't make an effort to improve their service, they will easily loose out to their competitors. I really do hope store management reads this review and implements changes to improve the experience for its customers.

I waited one hour and then they told me that I am out of luck. They should have told me that they did not have the prescription instead of having me wait one hour. It was faster for me to take the train to another subway stop and ask. At a Rite Aid, I waited 5 minutes and they told me that they do not have it. That is more professional and polite. I have had the pleasure of using them as my family's trusted pharmacist as a child for my grandparents and parents (when Metropharm was on Baxter Street), and now my husband and children (forced to move to Walker Street, still conveniently next to Charles B. Wang). During busy rush hours there may be a bit of a wait but that is expected, and worth it. The staff is hardworking and made it through NYC blackouts, 9/11, AND the toughest COVID years. If a prescription is not covered, they take the time to call the doctor back to seek alternatives. They know every doctor up and down the whole Manhattan island. If a prior-authorization is required, he assigns the staff to stay on the phone until an associate okays the script. No work and no stress on your end as the patient. There are also drugs that are hard to find, and Sunny has them, or he will immediately order it to arrive within 24hrs. I've also witnessed many, many repeat customers/patients who are friendly with the staff which speaks volumes to how caring they are with each and everyone alike. The store is bright, clean, and tidy, and there is ample selection as well as good prices compared to surrounding pharmacies in Chinatown. Hands down the only pharmacy I'll go to. It was previously located on 92 Baxter Street, but a force move due to the demolition of Manhattan Detention Complex (aka The Tombs) as its former home. It is still in operation serving the elderly where the hard-to-find prescription medications are in stock and readily available. Customer service is average, but the staff perform their jobs for order fulfillment to completion. The staff is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and including Spanish. The pharmacy also contains over the counter retail products.
