We recently had a chance to try this restaurant on an off night in the middle of the week. We ended up arriving fairly late, so the evening was winding down. The restaurant's location is just outside of Salerno, a short way from the Zona Industriale. I found it a very nice alternative to the crowded and small locations in Centro Storico where you are pressed in by noise and other diners. With it's slightly remote location, it benefits from a quiet atmosphere and relaxed setting, also ample parking! The restaurant boasts a very large outdoor seating area framed in wood and stone with soft lighting that provides a great atmosphere. The interior is also amply large and beautiful inside. The service was incredibly attentive without being obtrusive. A very nice change from being being politely ignored like most places in the region. The anti-pasta was amazing, we choose del Mare and were delighted with the fresh choices of seafood and hard breads. We had over ten fist and second plate choices, half terra and half del mare. Most of my group chose del mare and were very happy with the quality and presentation. I chose the pork tenderloin crusted in herbs and gorganzola cheese tossed with fresh rucola. It was done perfectly and seasoned exceptionally well. The wine selection was solid with a nice mixture of excellent and affordable wines that match the region and the menu. Alas, we did not have enough room to try dessert, but we will be coming back shortly and will assuredly try it. What i like about this place is when you really don't want to deal with the crowds, traffic, and noise of Centro Storico, you can go to Novavi and escape that and still have a great meal. They also have the capacity to seat large groups without making the place feel like a caffeteria or banquet hall, so it is ideal if you have large party and want to eat high end cuisine. As an added bonus, we paid a little less than we would for a top level meal in Centro Storico. I was the sole foreigner in the party and the Italians I was with were just as enthusiastic in their praise of Novavi was I am. We highly reccommend this place! read more
