So I have a dental appointment on 08/12 and was called on 08/11 for confirmation and so fourth so I'm assuming that my dental insurance for husky was checked and it was inactive, so she (Stephanie)stated "hi you had an appointment for tomorrow but your dental is inactive so call us back when you get insurance "(first of all if it's inactive yall still can bill out to 90 days) so I stated hi how you know I don't want to pay cash? She stated" usually people on husky don't want to pay cash and make a big deal about it and rather go through the insurance" so I'm trying to ask her what's the other alternative and she kept stating what people on husky usually do which is very rude and judgmental. I asked to speak with someone else and she hung up in my face. In addition someone else did finally call me back and ask do I want to keep the appointment as if I was the one that canceled it. Services was horrible today that young lady need some more training in my opinion. Edit: They dropped me from services because they couldn't bully me, they said the only way I can continue service is if I drop my bad review I stated no so they stop service me and told me find another dentist to go to after I already started braces with them. read more

I have been a patient at Nova Dental for over 6 years. I have found most of the dentists to be very capable, and for the most part, patient friendly. I have always had insurance and always paid my co-pay, in full, at the time of service. Over 6 years, I have requested a compromise of the co-pay amount twice, today being the second time. The amount of the reduction would have been approximately $22.00. I would estimate the amount I have paid in co-pays to be in the low thousands not to mention the thousands paid by my insurance company. Today I was told Nova would not discount the co-pay amount because it had already discounted the rate for the insurance company. Having worked 10 years in finance at a major medical center, I am well-versed in heath care reimbursement. Finally, it would seem that my experience is what passes for customer service and patient appreciation at Nova Dental. It would seem they have no problem with losing a longtime patient over $22.00. Think long and hard before you make your appointment at this practice. read more

I wouldn't suggest going here if you want to pay an arm and a leg in medical bills that their billing department screwed up! And possibly have a botched extraction that I had to have fixed at another facility. It will become your responsibility because they won't admit to the mistake. Watch out for the bills in mail. Went to Nova Dental on November 1st, 2016 for a badly broken tooth. I hadn't been to a dentist in 11 years. I actually had 2 teeth that were badly broken (and several cavities), but I only told them about the worst one. They did an x-ray and the dentist explained what was found in the one x-ray of the one tooth. The only good thing I can say about my experience with Nova Dental was that the dentist who spoke to me was very patient and took time to explain everything, answering all of my questions. Here's where things get dicey...he told me "We could do everything in the book to save this tooth and you'll probably still only get another year or two out of it. It needs to be pulled. It'll cost about $378 ($75 out of pocket with your insurance). We'd have to wait about 6 months for enough bone structure to grow in before we can do an implant. The implant will cost around $3,000-4,000 for that particular tooth. After the extraction, it'll hurt for a couple days, feel like you got socked in the mouth. I can do the extraction right now, do you want to?" I said no, told them I'd need a couple weeks to get my finances in order. I told them I'd call to set up an appointment, though I had no intentions of doing so. $378 to have one tooth pulled, then $3,000-4,000 for one implant? No thanks. As a true procrastinator, I gave it a few months before I decided I needed to do something. I set up an appointment with my last dentist, from 11+ years ago, whose practice has grown in that time. My first visit, she x-rayed both broken teeth. She said "They can both be saved, neither tooth needs to be pulled. You'll need root canals in both and POSSIBLY a crown in one or both, but I think we can get away with just a filling." I was quite astonished. I needed to clarify: "You're telling me neither tooth needs to be pulled?!" She assured me that indeed, neither tooth needed to be pulled and both can be saved. Fast forward a couple of months, both of my broken teeth have been fixed. I can finally eat normally and chew on both sides of my mouth again. There's no more pain. Both broken teeth underwent root canal therapy and a reconstructive filling to make them look like real teeth again. They do. The total cost for EVERYTHING (including having 7 cavities filled) is going to be just over $3,000. So, for about the same price as what Nova Dental told me would cost to have just one implant for one broken tooth, my dentist was able to root canal and repair both broken teeth AND drill and fill another 7 cavities. Worst case scenario, both of my newly repaired teeth crack and break within a few months, needing extraction, I could still get both extracted and probably STILL be below that upper estimate of $4,000 Nova Dental gave me for one tooth implant. Since I never went back to Nova Dental, I never really figured out why they seemed in such a rush to pull my tooth, nor why the estimate they gave me for one implant was equal to or greater than the cost of having ALL my necessary dental repairs completed elsewhere. I considered giving 2 stars here because the dentist at Nova was so patient with my questions, but then it hit me...he was trying to sell me on an expensive and unnecessary procedure. One star. Avoid these guys. read more

I would not recommend Nova Dental because of front desk staff. They are rude, disrespectful and argumentative. The office cancels appointments, they say they call and i have proof they did not. They made my daughter feel so bad she left there in tears. As a dentist in this practice i would be ashamed to be associated to the office. read more

First i want to say i am very anxious about going to dentists. So i go to Nova dental in North Haven,CT they tell me that i need 20 teeth pulled which is all the rest of my teeth and then get dentures. Then they tell me that i need to pay $800 for temporary dentures and my insurance will cover the permanent ones. So ok i make the appointment i go there they tell me nothing about the procedure im put a sleep i wake up an hour later with blood pouring out of my mouth. They stuff my mouth with gauze and stuff the dentures in. They then wheel me out to my wife they tell her nothing im in extreme pain and still bleeding severely i get home and bleed through 3 beach towels . My wife tries to call them theres no response. So in the end its 2 months later and i find out that they left some roots of the teeth in my gums and want to go back in and grind them down so my dentures will fit . this is the worst dentist ive ever been to there bed side manner is none existent and now they refuse to fix there mistake idk what they did read more

Came to them for a cleaning about 2 years ago after deciding never to go back to New England Dental.....I called them recently to ask what the cost would be to re-cement a bridge. They did not do the original bridge....New England Dental did. I advised I would never go back to NE Dental and would they help me out. I've been a customer at this practice since 2012. I've had a child and many life situations have come in between making appointments especially the distance from the city I live in. Today I was told that due to my attendance, I am not supposed to have anymore visits booked. I've already paid my late charge. The person I spoke with told me that hygienist and dentist are wasting their time when I miss my appointments. Unless I have a legitimate doctors note, my attendance is not valid. Horrible office staff. So unprofessional. I made my 3 kids appointments 6 months ago. The week of appointments I received 2 different text messages from them confirming 2 different appointments different times same day. I called and spoke to receptionist for 20 minutes and explained numerous times to her what my issue was. She apologized and said to come in all together at the original time my appointment card said. This was the day before the appointment. I made arrangements so I didn't have to cancel for someone to take them I was working. When they got there they said there appointments were 3 totally different times and they were busy so they would have to wait or reschedule! It's amazing how magically appointments appeared in the schedule that were not there the day before. So disgusted that I will find a new dentist due to the level of in professionalism. read more

I recommend this practice to anyone in the area who hates their current dentist. This practice is amazing, even the cleanings are extra gentle and everyone here takes the time to treat you like a person. My first treatment here was a removal of all 4 wisdom teeth and the surgeon was absolutely amazing (I was awake for the whole thing). Prices are reasonable and they will work with you, and your insurance if you have it, to make sure you aren't overpaying. I don't see myself ever leaving this practice for as long as I live in the state There are some dentists that treat you like a piggy bank and often do more harm than good, but Nova Dental is not one of them! Nova is a dentistry with morals and ethics and they WILL NOT hurt you just to turn a profit. Seriously they respect and care for you here; they deserve the business. The past couple times I've brought my kids has not been pleasant. The front staff is rude, the hygienist is EXTREMELY rude & to children. She SHOULD NOT be working in Pedi at all! I was furious at how she was handling & speaking to my kids! You need to be a special person to work in pediatrics, calming, kind & comforting of which she is NONE. I'm looking into a new practice that takes pediatrics because the dentist could use a course on dealing with children as well. Over all they shouldn't be seeing children because this isn't the first time we've experienced this at Nova in North Haven. I'm actually really surprised that they offer pediatrics. They ALL need a brush up on how to make children feel comforted & safe. Seriously!! Although, see what I did there?! It's really no joke. read more

Went there for my 11 year olds broken tooth, that is giving her pain. Called to make an appointment and SPECIFICALLY asked if they were located on Washington ave, because theres one right down the street. She told me yes so on appt day, we headed there. I drive around for a half hour looking for the building. When I call I get told by someone else that's not helpful that it's the one right down the street so yes, now I'm pissed. I hang up the phone, or so I thought, and have a few choice words to say TO MY DAUGHTER but nosey was still on the phone. I'd like to see how she acts when her kid is in pain but the staff where you're supposed to go doesn't even give you the correct location. Be careful when u go there. One person doesn't like you or what you say, it'll be up to the owner if you can still go or not. There's a dentist on every block... one RECEPTIONISTS word over knowing the whole story? You can keep your practice because if ppl like that keep working there, you won't have a practice much longer... except all those on state. read more

Since I don't have dental insurance, they let me set up a payment plan that was very convenient. They offer amazing deals on cleanings and whitenings as well. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I set my appointment for 9 a.m and didn't get in until 10 and there were numerous amount of people that went in before me that got there way after. Then when I finally got called in the specialist talked to me for about 2 minutes then had me sit on the chair for 15 and there was no sign of him anywhere so I walked out.
