A few months ago, we bought a new how in Marin. I turned out to have a Zinsco main electrical panel. The Homeowners insurance company has stipulated that they would not insure a house with that type of panel, and as you may know getting homeowner insurance is not easy and getting more expensive every day. When I asked the agent what to do if we had that type of panes, they said get it changed before the inspection and that when we started looking for a local electrician that could help us quickly. We didn't want to lose our insurance, the cost to go to next lowest company was almost 50% more and the cost to go to Farmers was 100% more, and our mortgage company would have something to say if we lost the HO policy. Noval Albion works in our area regularly and I was acquainted with the principal Rodrigo and met some of his people doing some volunteer work. I explained the situation and urgency to Rodrigo, and he came to look at what could be done. He gave us a very fair quote right away, when the house closed a few week later on a Friday, his people were there on a Monday. Not only did they get the original work done but they upgraded the grounding to current code and to support a future upgrade if needed and correct an illegal hot tap for the pool panel done by some previous electrician. Nova Albion was awesome, great price, on schedule, professional all the way! I really appreciate all the extra work they did and the struggles the field guys when through to get thing right. And, by the way, my business, I buy out large construction contracts, including electrical, all the time, so I give that praise from a professional point of view. They are awesome! read more
