Though we enjoyed the one in New York too, this location minimized the sort of underwhelming initial areas and focuses much more on an open-concept space with multiple activities and building rooms. While my kids are too old for Duplo, it was really nice to see a strong focus on the larger blocks to involve younger kids in the experience. We enjoyed the laser maze activity, even though it was hardly a maze at all. It would have been nice if there was a staff person supervising the activity though - there seemed to be a great deal of confusion with how it was supposed to work. We figured it out largely by seeing others do it incorrectly. Otherwise everything was great - the kids loved the VR game, the building activities, and the impressive pre-built LEGO creations.

There are movies every 1-2 hours, several sections where kids can build and interact with legos and an entire station to make mini figures. We loved the ride too! The best part was hands down the workshop though- we had 30 mins of a curated micro build and we both had the best time- the master builder was kind, and encouraged creativity while giving lots of structure. You definitely do not need any add ons (the basic ticket is sufficient for all these fun activities! ). Will definitely come back for any other special occasion!

I ended up gettting a summer pass that was good for 2 months it was a great deal and I was able to save a couple bucks buying purchasing online (it did take me a solid 10 min in the facility to do so) I wish they were able to honor the price on site but it is what it is. A lot of new games here and 90% of the games worked which is amazing to see! They revamped this whole place and I am really appreciating that esp as a mom who is on a tight budget! Our fav game is Luigi Mansion! Def come check it out if you use to come here- the summer pass is such a steal & now they are doing monthly memberships!!

The games are fun and easy to win, especially the ball claw machine. My daughter likes to win a couple extra balls to give to kids who really want a ball and give up, then she just randomly gives them one and it makes their day. The ski-ball is classic and the prizes are as good as any. Compare Chuck E Cheeses to Dave and Busters and you will come out way ahead in your wallet. The food is as expected. This is not intended to be a gourmet destination restaurant, it is kids pizza. That said they have a really good salad bar. On a recent visit we dropped our plate and made a huge mess after loading up and the staff just smiled and told us to make another and cleaned it up with a smile. When it is time to 'cash out' your tickets on the card at the prize counter, the people are infinitely patient while the kids decide what they want and on more than one occasion they kicked in a few extra tickets at the end so we could get what we wanted. My daughter has gone infrequently to Chuck E Cheese's since she was 5 years old, and there has never been a day when I have asked her where she wants to go for dinner that she does not say Chuck E Cheese's as her first answer. Now I have to say, other than Chuck E Cheese's where do you want to go for dinner.

Our two-year-old daughter wakes up every day asking if she can go play at Monique's house. We really appreciate the open concept and independent learning that's encouraged at One Childhood- plus the outdoor space (including hobbit hole! and water tables) is hard to beat. The hours are great (7:30-5:30) and Monique and Howie are super flexible. Did I mention they have a chameleon the kids love? Monique and Howie also run a myriad of cultural activities for every holiday ranging from Christmas to Day of the Dead and Dwali. I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the FOOD- it's unbelievable. I review the menus daily and while it all sounds good on paper, it looks and smells AMAZING! If you're considering sending your child here, I'd encourage you to pull the trigger- you won't regret it!

He took to Monique and Howie right away. When he first started going here he was still in diapers and when we were ready to potty train Monique was right on board and we were in undies in no time! I love that all of the meals are freshly prepared, lots of fruits and veggies. When my first started he was a picky 2 year old with limited foods he would eat. Once I changed up the meal time routine at home Monique followed suit at school and now he eats so many foods and things he would never touch before. I love that she sends pictures and daily/weekly updates on how he is doing. They do lots of outdoor play and do awesome field trips like the museum of science and even the beach! I plan to have my son here until he transitions to either preschool or kindergarten. I only wish I had found this daycare sooner!! All photos I attached are photos of my son at One Childhood ELC and some of the fun activities they do.

Back then, they stupidly had a huge men's locker room on one floor, and a similarly huge boys' locker room on another floor---and I'm assuming, ditto for a women's and a girls' LR. In other words, huge waste of space, since all the actual workout space was crammed into a claustrophobic cellar space with low 8ft ceilings, and the equipment was pretty old and fairly rickety. NOW, however, they've combined the locker rooms and have a palatial high ceilinged 2nd floor workout space with excellent and all new equipment including something I had never seen in a Y before: Concept ski ergs! (Google it if you have no idea what I'm talking about.) Said equipment is not all that intelligently laid out, though---but compared to how it used to be, no complaints here! Locker room looks pretty much the same but the showers and restroom are nicely redone. Not so crazy about their cardio equipment, though. All their stationary bikes are the geriatric recumbent ones, with only one ancient Keiser on the floor. They have Precor treadmills and ellipticals that have nice big screens with the wonderful "interactive terrains" similar to Life Fitness's current models found at other Ys---but unlike the LF machines, these Precor machines' video screens are buggy as hell, constantly freezing up and having to be reset within 15 minutes of starting your workout! Also, the one and only (coed) sauna they have, while being brand new and beautiful, sitting right next to the pool, BUT---is uselessly weak. Even on the highest settings, it feels like it only gets to maybe 160F tops. Nothing like the Cambridge Y's sauna which is around a divine 200F, or the Malden Y and Waltham Y's saunas which are closer to a still-passable 180F. I suppose it's meant more for people who just want to dry out after swimming, not for anyone who wants to really SWEAT, which is the whole purpose of a sauna. A good thing about this Y is that it's one of the all too few that stays open until 9pm on Fridays. Sadly, on Saturdays and Sundays they close at a lousy 4pm, just like the Cambridge Y.

My experience at this YMCA is that the staff are receptive to any concerns and will work with their members to find an amicable solution.
