A lovely hotel with an exceptionally helpful and courteous staff. In town recently to attend a family wedding, several of us stayed at the newly-opened Noun Hotel. Very conveniently located right near the OU campus. Rooms are large and very comfortable. As stated, staff goes above and beyond to assist you with anything you could possibly need. Booking was a bit of a challenge online, so I called the front desk and made reservations over the phone. Had a few questions prior to arrival, so I emailed them. That went unanswered, so I again called the front desk and received quick and accurate responses then. I'm sure these are just glitches that are being worked out since this facility only opened a few months ago. Restaurant on the ground floor is beautiful. While we did not eat a full meal there, we did sit at the bar one afternoon and ordered a few "sides" on their menu: crispy Brussels sprouts and french fries. Huge portions for the $5 each cost - and both were delicious! Just what we needed to take the edge off of our hunger until we went out to that evening's dinner. All rooms have comfortable beds, desk and bench for luggage. An iron and small ironing board is in every room, along with a Kuerig coffee maker and refrigerator. Bottled water is free of charge at the front desk. The downstairs restaurant bar has refills for coffee pods and creamers. Hair dryers are in every bathroom. Closet is large with lots of storage space and ample wooden suit hangers. An abundance of towels is available. Parking is complimentary valet. There is also a large adjacent lot that is valet for students/faculty, but there was no attendant there when we arrived. The Noun Hotel valet told us that often their guests will park in that lot. The lot was mostly empty for all of the days we were there, and we never did see an attendant for that lot. A few items of note (which is the reason for the deduction of a star): *lighting in rooms is marginal, at best; *only USB outlet is located behind the coffee maker, which is difficult to access, so be sure to bring the electrical brick portion of your phone/tablet along with your USB cord; *toilet paper is fine, thin sandpaper. Noun Hotel should spend a few bucks and buy some facial-quality tp, because what was available was excruciating to use; *it would have been wonderful if a light breakfast option was available. There are not a whole lot of options within walking distance for breakfast, so you end up driving to a fast-food restaurant to get a greasy, salty start to your day or you bring breakfast items with you (as I did). For a hotel that offers superb food for lunch and dinner, breakfast for the guests staying there seems like a natural. Many within our party would have gladly paid for a light breakfast here rather than bringing in food to eat in our room or going out. If I'm ever in town again, surely this hotel will be my choice of accommodations. Hopefully all of the new-opening kinks will have been worked out by then, but if they're not, at least I know what to expect.

My wife and I went to Prime Rib Thursdays. Did not disappoint. Hadn't had Prime Rib in a while. This hotel is beautiful.

Brand new hotel on campus corner. Great common spaces like the lobby, library, restaurant, and bar but the rooms are sparse and cold. Rooms are all hard surfaces and don't feel welcoming or luxurious. No gym, snack bar, or pool. Very walkable to campus. Often expensive on big weekends like game days or parents weekend.

    Beautifully decorated.

Very impressed with decor. Really a beautiful place and glad we have it in Norman. I gave it a 3 because the food was simply average and overpriced. Service, well, lacking to be kind. We ordered tea service and when I requested more hot water for tea the young girl brought me a stemmed glass of plain hot water. No spoon. No honey until we ask. Overall disappointed for sure. We will return to see if brunch is any better.

The bed was comfy, the room cozy and the hot tub was private and the perfect addition! We walked to dinner and came back and enjoyed a glass of wine in the back sitting area. My husband wanted to surprise me with a "Gilmore Girls" type wonderful inn experience and it was such a treat! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was absolutely charming. I loved the comfortable living area and cozy fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was wonderful and had amazing water pressure in the shower. I loved the way the rooms were decorated with cute old fashioned decorations that were Oklahoma themed (we had a birdhouse themed room one night.) One thing I really loved was how wonderful they were about accommodating my medical issues. I have gluten sensitivity and also severe migraines, which make me very sensitive to light. They were so nice about unplugging some lights out on the porch that were bright so that I could sit by the windows without getting a headache. As for the food, sometimes when you're traveling and have to find gluten free food on the road, it can be a bit of a challenge, but oh, the food here was DIVINE! Breakfast one morning was a gluten free omelet with all the fixings, plus a big varied selection of fruit, plus GF cinnamon toast, plus there were these great smoothies. So good! Another day, it was these delicious gluten free blue corn pancakes that I practically inhaled, plus really yummy home fried potatoes with pork, plus a selection of fruit and the wonderful fruit smoothies again. There were even gluten free cookies available upon arrival! We'll definitely be staying there again the next time we drive through Oklahoma City!

We had stayed here in the past and decided to give it another go. Glad we did. We were in town to see our child graduate from OU. The staff is very friendly and accommodating willing to help in anyway, making sure your stay is pleasant. Though we didn't eat at the restaurant, we did have drinks and sat out in the courtyard. What we love best is the breakfast the next morning. Variety of different breakfast items along with fresh fruit. The kitchen is very clean. And the staff is very nice! We look forward to coming here again!!! hopefully during football season. Though the room rate will be a little more, it's still well worth it. To the staff: Thanks again for a great stay!!

There is an area with a desk, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The coffee maker didn't work. That's ok, because there were coffee machines throughout the facility and Starbucks. The highlight for me was the food. The buffet was pretty good. This week I saw pizza, spaghetti, prime ribs, BBQ ribs, chicken, very good breakfast options, burgers, steak and great sides. There is a bar area with amazing bartenders and social activities during the week. The facility has pool tables, a gym, massage room and great fitness area. I came when it was a little cool, but I did get a peek at the pool. The lobby area had lots of chairs. The training rooms were nice. There were some technical issues with some of the rooms. That was the only thing that I would recommend improving. I would definitely love to come back. The staff were so attentive and very helpful. I was really impressed.

The room was incredibly clean!!! You can tell they put hard work into making sure each inch of the place is cleaned and prepped for each guest. In this trip We've visited 13 states, and used multiple hotels and restaurants stop bathrooms.... The ThunderBird Lodge by far had the BEST toilet paper we've used since being at home. Small detail? Yes. Big difference? holy CRAP (no pun intended) yes! This was our first time in Oklahoma, and Mel made sure to let us know about tornado warnings and what channel to watch the storm on. She was very concerned about our safety, and made sure to notate which car was ours and which ones didn't belong to guests, to eliminate sketchy people and keep the guests safe. There was also a cute little cat that roamed the parking lot and let us pet him. A really great stay and really great atmosphere!

Review for Hampton Inn…read more As a full-time character to my husband with brain cancer, it's often that I need respite which includes a nights rest out of the home. So I chose the Hampton Inn and suites. It's not too terribly far from my house and close to some comforts that I enjoy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and smelt clean but not in a 'hey we just bleached/Lysol the place' way. Because lest be really no one likes that The room was nice and quiet. For 50+ mph winds it was more quiet than my house! There were even dogs two rooms down and I only knew this because I came out of my room the same time they did. So I LOVED the peace and quiet this hotel provided me. The towels were soft the water was nice and warm. I loved that the bedding wasn't just a thin layer and I felt comfortable throughout the night. The thermostat was easy to use and there wasn't a delay or awkward smell that came from the vent. (can you tell I've stayed at some questionable places lately ) I overslept for breakfast (which was open until 9am oops) I had such a good nights rest! The second night I barely squeezed into breakfast to snag an oatmeal bowl before they fully closed and I was pleasantly surprised how good the oatmeal was and it was still perfect temp! But if you're really not into what they have or you much prefer your favorite drink, like a grande mocha to pump at Starbucks (my hubs go-to), no fret! Starbucks is walking distance from the hotel. Or maybe you're more of a McDonald's person that's close by too. The downstairs area is very welcoming and spacious. They have a downstairs bathroom, which is nice and big and clean. I did not check out the pool area or the laundry area though my dog neighbor said the laundry area was great. This is the perfect stop for your travel journey, a work trip, or a staycation like I did. Though my husband wasn't with me- Notes- Plenty of blue parking spaces. Easy entrance to navigate with automatic doors. Wide hallways and spaces typical size elevator. Surprisingly lighter weight doors than most of the handicap accessible rooms I've been in. I didn't reserve an accessible room since it was just so I can't speak on those features. But the downstairs area had plenty of tables where he could've rolled up and the downstairs bathroom had plenty of space. I could've taken him in there and cleaned up if needed.

But the price has been OK so it has been acceptable in the past. Tonight I came in after a long day's work and the kid at the front desk refused to give me a bottle of water (costs them less than a dime) even though I'm a diamond member of long standing. He turned me down with a smug smirk and pointed to a sign suggesting that because this is run by a franchisee, that Hilton protocols don't have to be followed. So it's attitude. And this guy's attitude stunk to high heaven. I will never stay at this property again when in Oklahoma City and ask other prospective guests to reconsider and stay at a different Hilton property instead. Hilton promises on signs to make problems right or the night is free. Even a call to customer care did not fix that, so don't think that as a guest you have any protection from abuse because you really don't. The only way to settle their hash is to stay elsewhere:
