Review: 2 Stars - Saved by Jamal's Hospitality…read more I was tired from a long road trip and saw this Hampton Inn in what seemed like a good area of OKC, so I decided to stop for the night. Jamal at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful--easily the highlight of my stay. I originally rated this place 1 star, but added an extra star solely because of his exceptional hospitality. Unfortunately, Room 502 left a lot to be desired. The door handle was broken and had to be pulled up just to open the door. The bathtub was cracked and moldy. The window shade pull chain was broken, and to top it off, there was an old open beer left in the fridge. Even worse, there appeared to be some questionable stains--possibly DNA--on the headboard. But what really hurt? No remote control for the TV. The whole room gave off a "pay-by-the-hour" vibe, which is not what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. Come on, Hampton--do better.

Another main reason I stay here is bc it is dog friendly and has access to a grassy area for quick pup relief. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. Worst check in at a hotel ever and they only gave 1 room key. Booked direct on hotel app where it showed when using a card with a chip to pay for the room the incidental hold would be $50 but they decided to make their own rules and policies holding double the ammount giving reasons that we booked directly and we checked in after 9 pm. Dogs all over the place with no leashes Room had very small tvs and came across as outdated plus both phones did not work in the room. Late night noises was heard in the room past 10 pm from the lobby and hallway. Only two towels in the room. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable.

When we first walked, it took about 5 mins for the blonde at the desk to even say anything, god forbid she looked up from the computer. Her customer service skills were lack there of. After having to pay $7 for a 3 rd person and receiving that sort of customer service we were angry which set the tone for the rest of the night. The location is right off the highway but is a little sketchy. After arriving in the room, it smelled like smoke and housekeeping just sprayed room deodorizer to cover it up. Then we noticed, the shower cap covering the smoke detector. HUGE safety concern!! After trying to call the front desk for 10 mins and being hung up on, we went down there and of course our new friend was working. She not only grunted because we were bothering her but she also mentioned that the likley hood of a fire was unlikley. Yes but that is not the point. What if? Judging by that neighborhood you just dont know. She also, couldnt be bothered to pick her eyes off her phone either and told us we could take it down ourselves. Never again!

I accidentally booked the wrong week, but the manager on duty (Vianna, I believe) went above and beyond to help us. She made the refund process easy and quickly got us set up with a room for that same night. She was absolutely amazing and turned a stressful situation into a great experience. The room itself was incredible--spacious, clean, and perfect for our family. The kids loved having extra space, and the bathroom was huge. The beds were extremely comfortable, which was much needed after a long day of travel. We also enjoyed spending time at the pool, which was a fun bonus for the kids. Breakfast the next morning was spectacular with so many options--everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely love to come back again!

The bathroom door is a pocket door with a 3 inch gap at the top for the rollers and held closed by a magnet on the wall that catches on the end of the pocket door. If you don't align it properly, the door continually slides back into the wall. The hot water situation is nothing short of abominable. Currently, we have no hot water in the shower or the sink. So we decided to go down to breakfast. Coming back up to our room, the elevator opened for us to enter, but when we got to the ninth floor, the doors would not open. We went to the eighth floor, where the elevator doors did open, got out, and took the stairs up to the ninth floor to gain entry to our room. Tried three times to call the front desk from our room and each time were cut off. Finally reached someone at the front desk and advised them that the elevator was having issues by not opening on the ninth floor. She said she'd send maintenance and hung up. She didn't ask which elevator of the 3 elevators available was having issues, what the problem was, or if we were safely back in our room before disconnecting our call. Needless to say the only thing I'd recommend at this hotel is the breakfast. I certainly expected better from a Hilton hotel.

We arrived at midnight on the 25th and on the morning of the 27th, I woke up with bumps on my upper back but figured it could be my tight bra straps. By the afternoon, I had visible bug bites on my left arm, stomach, upper back, neck, and breast. We decided to check the bed and sure enough, we found a HUGE bed bug. We took it to the front desk and instantly was greeted by Janet's argumentative attitude telling me it was fleas and my dogs brought them. My dogs are inside dogs and I've never had an issue with fleas. She called the housekeeper. She popped the bedbug right in front us. Sylvia, the housekeeper, was the only professional staff that I encountered. She quickly apologized to us when she confirmed it was a bed bug. Janet who tried to tell me her name was Gianna called her manager to tell her about the bed bugs, how she was so worried for a bad review with her name, and how she was being cussed out when the entire time she was gaslighting us telling us we brought them and I had no bites. We instantly were met with one of the most unprofessional attitudes from her manager. She quickly said to get off the property or she would call the police. We had asked to be moved to another room. She refused. We then asked for a refund, she refused. A few minutes later, police showed up. We were escorted off the property like criminals for bedbugs they have in room 104 who had an adjoining room. The next day I checked my credit card, this unprofessional piece of work charged my credit card for another $300+ because my dog left a "mud stain" on the sheet. Where they not planning to wash the sheets? All these interactions were recorded so they cannot deny their words and behavior. Please do not stay here. Take a look at my photos and videos with all bites and bed bug I found.
