Review for Hampton Inn…read more As a full-time character to my husband with brain cancer, it's often that I need respite which includes a nights rest out of the home. So I chose the Hampton Inn and suites. It's not too terribly far from my house and close to some comforts that I enjoy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and smelt clean but not in a 'hey we just bleached/Lysol the place' way. Because lest be really no one likes that The room was nice and quiet. For 50+ mph winds it was more quiet than my house! There were even dogs two rooms down and I only knew this because I came out of my room the same time they did. So I LOVED the peace and quiet this hotel provided me. The towels were soft the water was nice and warm. I loved that the bedding wasn't just a thin layer and I felt comfortable throughout the night. The thermostat was easy to use and there wasn't a delay or awkward smell that came from the vent. (can you tell I've stayed at some questionable places lately ) I overslept for breakfast (which was open until 9am oops) I had such a good nights rest! The second night I barely squeezed into breakfast to snag an oatmeal bowl before they fully closed and I was pleasantly surprised how good the oatmeal was and it was still perfect temp! But if you're really not into what they have or you much prefer your favorite drink, like a grande mocha to pump at Starbucks (my hubs go-to), no fret! Starbucks is walking distance from the hotel. Or maybe you're more of a McDonald's person that's close by too. The downstairs area is very welcoming and spacious. They have a downstairs bathroom, which is nice and big and clean. I did not check out the pool area or the laundry area though my dog neighbor said the laundry area was great. This is the perfect stop for your travel journey, a work trip, or a staycation like I did. Though my husband wasn't with me- Notes- Plenty of blue parking spaces. Easy entrance to navigate with automatic doors. Wide hallways and spaces typical size elevator. Surprisingly lighter weight doors than most of the handicap accessible rooms I've been in. I didn't reserve an accessible room since it was just so I can't speak on those features. But the downstairs area had plenty of tables where he could've rolled up and the downstairs bathroom had plenty of space. I could've taken him in there and cleaned up if needed.

Attitude. Sometimes it's all about attitude. I've stayed at this hotel before with no problems. The…read moreplace is clean but a little dated, the mattress and pillows a little shopworn. But the price has been OK so it has been acceptable in the past. Tonight I came in after a long day's work and the kid at the front desk refused to give me a bottle of water (costs them less than a dime) even though I'm a diamond member of long standing. He turned me down with a smug smirk and pointed to a sign suggesting that because this is run by a franchisee, that Hilton protocols don't have to be followed. So it's attitude. And this guy's attitude stunk to high heaven. I will never stay at this property again when in Oklahoma City and ask other prospective guests to reconsider and stay at a different Hilton property instead. Hilton promises on signs to make problems right or the night is free. Even a call to customer care did not fix that, so don't think that as a guest you have any protection from abuse because you really don't. The only way to settle their hash is to stay elsewhere:

Back to the Front desk where there was not an employee had to wait about 5 minutes for him to show up. Next room door was almost impossible to get in and out of. Reported to the Front desk and evidently maintenance only works 5 days a week sounds not get fixed. I can no longer recommend staying here.

Complimentary breakfast with sugar free options. Spacious room. Allowed early check in once room became open. The bad: room smelled of mold/must. Come to find out the AC leaks on the carpet which never dries out. Biggest thing for me is the slider frosted glass bathroom door design. First, doors don't lock. Second, the frosted glass doesn't leave much to the imagination. Room furniture, mattresses in particular have seen better days. Black out curtains are short and allow significant light in. Refrigerator is a low cool model, even on the coldest settings. The two staff members I interacted with didn't have the best attitudes. Mid shift one seemed like he hated his life. For me, the attitude part took the most stars away from this review. If you are single and need a cheap room for the night it wouldn't be bad. Family and I found ourselves clicking our heels reminding ourselves, "it's only one night!" Picture attached is a random roach I found in the hall by the fitness room this morning.

Had waffles, toast, muffins, cereals, yogurts, instant oatmeal, eggs, biscuits &gravy, juices and coffee. Room was nice and clean. Room was hot when we arrived but cooled off really quickly and stayed cold all night. Sink is outside of the bathroom/shower. Even being next to a highway, the noise was very minimal. My main complaints were four-fold: - payment system needed to be rebooted a few times during check-in which delayed our plans to a nearby museum - dog "land mines" and other trash in the grass where we unloaded - another dog owner came out of the hotel where we were walking our dog the night of our stay and ran straight for ours... the owner was cussing profusely in front of my children, not at them but her dog - the interstate noise was so loud in our second-floor room Other than that, the staff members were friendly. The elevator, albeit a bit slow, was operable. The indoor pool with the low ceiling and tiny towels was good. I thought it was going to be nicer for $147.77 for a double queen bed suite. It was not up to par compared to many other BWs I have traveled to. Easy access to Interstate 35. My favorite plus was their pet policy: "$20 per day with a $100 per week minimum for up to 2 dogs per room with an 80-pound weight limit"

With that said the hotel was clean, the room was spacious and comfortable. The location was great and gave us easy access to all the places we were going to be going. At 12:30 AM our first night there was a huge water leak from the room above us that flooded our bathroom. The staff responded immediately and got us a new room and offered assistance with moving our things. It is not the absence of issues but how they are addressed that matters. I'd have given a better rating if the breakfast had been decent.

When they did come and I inquired about using the laundry room, the guy wasn't knowledgeable or helpful at all. Might as well have stayed in the back. I went to the laundry room myself to scope it out and nearly threw up because it smelled so horrible. It looks like it might be $1.75 to wash, but I'm still not sure. I didn't wash and I never went back. I killed a bug that was crawling on my bed one of the nights which should never happen. Seems like a very run down place. I didn't feel safe and I didn't want to touch anything because it felt so dirty. They offer breakfast in the morning, but I don't trust that either. I stuck with yogurt and english muffins. Juice machine worked for 2 days. Thank God for my angels, seriously. This is more like LOW Quailty Inn. The other reviewer was spot on. Motel 6 might actually be better. Some thigns just aren't worth the savings.
