I stopped by on Saturday, 12-4-21, to use a bogo coupon I was given the last time I'd stopped by. I still haven't tried all of their flavors in my quest to watch my waistline. I asked for lemon & red velvet. As the young lady was getting the cakes, she asked if I'd like a pumpkin spice. I said sure since it's a seasonal flavor but not one I'd usually pick; not the biggest pumpkin fan. She then asked if I'd like two. I ordered a Key Lime large cake decorated with Birthday wishes and flowers for my daughter that lives in Matthews. I paid in full for this order. I was then notified that they could not fulfill the order as they were out of Key Lime. (my daughter's favorite) They suggested I try Charlotte. Which I did and I was able to fulfill the order there. I called back Matthews and asked them to refund my $$. The fellow said, I can not do that I have to wait for the manager. I have called back 3 times and get the same answer. I now feel that since this was June 24th, 3 months ago, I will be taking this further to the head office of Nothing Bundt Cakes about their franchisee in Matthews, NC. Best experience ever!!! T'was the day before Thanksgiving and I had a craving for bundtinis (bite size bundt cakes!) for our Thanksgiving gathering. This is the first time I have experienced a mini bundt cake and it was good and better than a plain old cupcake. The cake part was super moist and the frosting was the most delicious thing! I ordered the pecan and it didn't have many in there which I was ok with but I'm sure others may think it needs more. I cannot believe I haven't posted a review sooner. My reasoning is I got distracted by how good these mini bundt cakes are. I didn't even have a picture from my first three visits. Entering the bakery you are greeted my bright colors, a smiling worker, and the smell of cake. Win-win right? This place even has samples. My absolute favorite is the lemon-raspberry, which sadly is no longer in season. Don't fret though, everything they have in that glass case is good, and they have plenty to choose from. I've enjoyed:blueberry, carrot cake, confetti, vanilla, and lemon. All were outstanding. They have red velvet too, if you are a true Southerner and tend to judge a bakery on The Red Velvet Standard. I visit frequently, but just noticed for the first time they sell stuff too. There are inspirational keepsakes all around. I enjoy this place and so does my children. You really can't go wrong with a Nothing Bundt Cake, but I visited the Matthews location today around 1:30pm and was disappointed by the customer service. The clerk wasn't very pleasant. We told her what we wanted, and she didn't say absolutely anything, she just started to bag our items. Once the items were bagged, she repeated the flavors back to us, which were correct. However, when I got home, the order was incorrect, although my receipt was correct. I was seriously bummed, because I had purchased a treat for a friend that lives 3hrs away, and now she isn't going to get what she wanted. Usually I would recommend Nothing Bunt cakes to everyone. The have great customer service and the cakes are amazing. My family usually ordered cakes from here for birthdays or just for a sweet treat. In 2019 when I was planning my May 2nd 2020 and I saw they did weddings at the Charlotte wedding convenient I booked them right then and there. Due to Covid I had to reschedule 3 times. The staff were very polite and understanding. Also due to the change in number of people and dietary restrictions I changed my order a couple times months before the wedding. Which the staff again was very kind and understanding. However two weeks before the wedding my mom got a call from the manager Sabrina. She tried to back out of delivering and set up of my wedding cake and buntinies due to my wedding being May 8th 2021 a day before Mother's day. My mom was able to convince hef to at least deliver the cakes since we paid for the service of delivery and set up. When I called to confirm all this with Sabrina she talked down to me mentioning my rescheduling and changes to the order. When I told her I paid for this service of cake set up and delivery she mentioned that she agreed to deliver with my mom and it's not hard to take cakes out of box so we would be able to set it up ourselve. I did not appreciate the stress having to find which one of my guests that would be willing to set up my cakes and properly. I gave them two stars because the delivery was on time and cake was still delicious. read more
