I've been visiting a lot of UPS stores lately for returns and such, and I happened to visit the UPS…read morestore here in Duluth. I came on Saturday closing to close time and it was pretty busy. I could tell most of the clientele here were coming for returns, and there were only two employees there. They definitely were trying their best to try to get the customers in and out and they did not seem like the happiest campers, but these folks are just UPS folks. Not expecting much out of them. I tried to make it easy for them by having my Amazon QR code ready and having it all packaged and shipped. It took a little while due to the line, but my encounter was quick and fast -- huge shoutout as I know UPS partners with a lot of clients; they're definitely doing their best.

It's one of those situations where I could just answer nicely, but it's stupid. 'Customer orders' or 'merchandise' isn't enough. Does the owner of the store actually think someone that's shipping something harmful is going to confess at the desk? I want management to read that out loud then tell me how it sounds. It comes across as rude and nosey as hell. If you're that concerned with shipping safety, use your money as a franchisee to buy x-ray equipment. Require boxes to be sealed by staff. Or, put one of those generic statements out on the credit card reader that I have to agree to like usps does. It's annoying because ups stores are franchised that the owners can charge different prices and make up different rules. Just rubs me the wrong way. I had amazing ups stores in Florida and PA when I was there for work- not as much the same in Georgia.

I had a terrible experience at the UPS Store on Buford Hwy in Duluth, GA. I went in for notary…read moreservices and asked the employee, Jasmine, if the notary was available. She informed me the notary wasn't there, so I asked for the name of the person who handles notary services so I can call later and ask if he's there before making the drive to the store. To my shock, Jasmine became extremely aggressive and rude, questioning why I needed the name and started raising her voice. Confused at first, I quickly realized she was being confrontational. The situation escalated into a verbal argument, and she began walking towards the door in a threatening manner. Feeling unsafe, I took out my phone to record the incident, but before I could, I noticed Jasmine was blocking the exit, which made me fear for my safety & I realized I needed to get out of there. She then charged at me, attempting to grab me and my phone. Thankfully, I was able to block her, but she continued to yell and curse in my face. Terrified and shaking, I called the police. I have never experienced such hostility and aggression from an employee before. The cops arrived, and I filed an incident report. I am now in the process of escalating this issue further. To be fair, the owner of the store did call me to address the issue, and apologized for her behavior but informed me that he will be retaining the employee and that this was a one off incident. According to the review I saw just before posting mine... it is clear that it is not a one off incident.

The young guy behind the counter agreed that he had never saw this happen, and that his manager would have to call USPS but his manager was not in until Monday. With a demeanor, as if I was bothering him to get up off his phone, he asked that I leave my tracking number for the manager to call USPS, who wouldn't be in until Monday (it's Thursday). Never did he attempt to do so himself or provide a # I could call myself... saying his manager had to be the one to call. He had a complete attitude trying to reiterate that no timeframe is guaranteed and sarcastically stating that it is an "estimated timeframe" when paying for packages to be shipped EXCEPT that that is not completely true. His demeanor was nasty. There was a complete lack of customer service and he showed a complete disregard for my concerns on the mystery of where my package is, repeating that "it's out of our hands" with a snarky tone.
