So my mom, who is 85, asks me if I know of any good carpet places. I search reviews and see these guys with 4.5 stars in her area so I let her know. She goes in, finds what she likes and purchases a carpet. Joel goes to her condo to measure. When the installers come to install, they tell her that they need to install a piece of "ramping" on one side to raise the carpet level with her laminate flooring. They charged her an addl' $225. When I called to question why they would charge so much on top of an already expensive $3100, he gives me some b.s. story! When I look at the invoice they gave her, it only shows the carpet model and the $3100 cost. No measurements, no price per sq. ft.(see photo). That's the true sign of a company trying to hide something! And to take advantage of an elderly women...disgraceful! I went down to their showroom to see how much the carpet was and it was $6.29 a sq. ft. and it wasn't even a brand name. Based on the size of my mom's room, they definitely charged her more than they should have(I did the math). They say they buy from all the major manufacturers but I don't believe it. All I can hope is that the carpet holds up and doesn't give her any problems. Senior citizens beware of this place! I will not be recommending these guys to anyone and will post this review all over different sites to let people know to shop elsewhere! read more

I was satisfied when it was installed. Then the bad news. Joel said a large cabinet would be moved so they could carpet the whole room. After installation the installers said they wouldn't move it (too heavy for 2 big young guys), and after installation I'm told they cut out around it! Now under 2 yrs later the carpet is lifting & has ripples and bulging spots. NJC said the warranty is over, tough luck! read more

Even after reading some 5* reviews, I was skeptical; so I went to the store. Everyone was busy but very welcoming. I perused their large sample variety while waiting. It was worth it. Salesperson treated me with no rush, asked several questions before suggesting a top of line remnant w a discount vs a stock high quality. They came to my house n gave me a final quote. Still I Compared prices w other stores and besides being treated indifferently, ignored by impatient salespersons; I decided for NJC. He checked with me constantly to make sure everything is done to our satisfaction. This place rocks! I was recently helping a friend of mine to change the carpet in the apartment in SoBe, so I was looking for reputable place that offers both carpet and installation services. I found Not Just Carpet on Yelp and those guys had amazing reviews, so I decided to give them a shot. And I was not wrong - they did a great job starting from selection of the carpets that they have in stock, pricing and professionalism during removal/installation process. They insured and certified and have all the permits to deal with if not all but most likely most of the annoying condo associations. We got the quote right away in the store and next day the total was finalized during the apartment measuring. The job was done literally in less than a week form the moment that we entered the store. Expensive middle man, I had my bedroom carpet installed with this company, they subcontracted a different company, 3 guys brought the new carpet and left it in my condo hallway outside my apartment 2 guys left and only 1 guy( the installer) stay to do the job, of course the carpet roll was too big and heavy and I had to help him to move the carpet inside my bedroom, a couple of carpet tack strips had water damage and needed to be replaced, the installer did not have any available when I called the company they told me that they never have to replace them (really a carpet installer company that charge you full price service and can't replace a couple of damaged carpet tack strips) I don't mind to help the person to move the carpet when I'm saving some money but no when I'm paying 33% more than the regular cost of this job, we had a surplus of the carpet due to wrong measurement so I was overcharged and they refused to refund me for the extra carpet they billed me, do yourself a favor and avoid this middle man company read more

My review pertains to a carpet purchase. They have a professional showroom with a comprehensive selection of carpets of all types, colors, styles. Their pricing was quite reasonable. Their per sq ft price includes everything ie: padding, installation, delivery, removing old carpet, moving furniture, carpet. Unfortunately with this practice you can't tell how much you are actually paying for the carpeting. When it came to installation, they gave me an afternoon appointment. They could not provide me with any timeframe of when the installers would arrive at my home. When the installer (singular!) finally showed up at 3:30 p.m., he had 3-4 hrs of work ahead of him. They never okayed with me that I would be free until 7:00 p.m. since their guy showed up so late. With an entire bedroom loaded with furniture, I NEVER expected a one man crew to show up for the installation. This fellow had to move heavy platform bed, giant armoire and dresser all by himself. When he was finished and left, we noticed the installer damaged and chipped the finish of the bottom of two of our doors off. Brought this to the attention of the owner, they came back out and touched up the doors. read more

Don at Not Just Carpet was recommended by my real estate agent. I wanted to rip out carpet and put in hardwood in the home I just purchased. Don was really helpful as I was kind of lost in the multitude of wood choices. I picked 5-6 that I liked and he suggested a couple of others. One of those that he suggested, Serengeti Teak, was what I ultimately chose (after lots of texted photos with girlfriend and sisters). The installation challenge was not so much the flooring as the 2 flights of stairs and long lengths of bannisters that had to be stained to work with the flooring. Don took a couple of trips to look, bringing his crew. These guys are pretty much artists and we came up with the plan for a stain on the existing wood that would blend well with the teak. Much of the work was done while I was traveling but I witnessed enough of it to be amazed at the skill of these guys. Claudio, Deivison and the crew are perfectionists and the work reflects the care they put into the effort. There were as many as 3-5 people here almost daily hand sanding the bannisters, prepping the stairs, doing the stain, and installing the floors. And it came out beautifully. Floors are gorgeous. And the stain is a great match. We initially chose one color from a few samples on the railing but when it was on the stairs, it came out darker and we decided to start again with a different shade. No complaints (despite the need for additional sanding, much by hand) and the result is great. Of course movers put a couple of big dings in the stairs when they were carrying (or dropping/dragging) a bed frame. I called Claudio and he was back that afternoon to repair. And since he was afraid redoing the 2 damaged stairs would make them look different, he did the whole flight. These guys are great. Recommend Not Just Carpet with absolutely no reservations. I will certainly work with them again if I have a need. read more

It's not easy dealing with home maintenance when one lives far away from the home in question. Not Just Carpets had installed wall to wall carpeting in my parents' apartment several years ago. Don made the process easy and was a pleasure to work with. I was there when the carpet was installed, and his workers did a fabulous job. Afterward, Don called to make sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction. This past year, there was no question that I would use NJC again, when we wanted a different type of flooring installed, in the same space. Don again came out and measured, and met us at the showroom to show us the various options. He was sensitive not only to the appearance of the products, but also to the safety and health issues that required the change. He was respectful of my elderly mother's preferences, and answered all our questions, bringing out different products until we found the one that was just right. Although I was no longer "in town" during the installation, Don and his staff made sure that everything went smoothly, even when condo rules made the going somewhat rough. I haven't been back yet to see it, but everyone tells me that it looks beautiful, and has greatly enhanced home life in the apartment (yes, it made THAT much of a difference!). read more

The salesman with whom we had worked came to measure our room the day after we were in the store. When he came, he also brought all the samples we had looked at, allowing us to see how they would look in the room (with paint color, lighting, etc.). The carpeting was installed within a week. The installation was flawless and the carpeting is exactly what we had hoped for. In addition, the installers had to move some heavy furniture in order to install the carpet. They did so without complaint, and did a perfect job of disassembling and re-assembling it. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would return to Not Just Carpet for any of our future carpeting needs, and heartily recommend it. read more

I initially wrote a rave review for this company. They installed wall to wall in my upstairs townhome and stairs. Joel Berg was nothing but helpful and kind. Within a year and a half the carpet had to be stretched twice due to rippling and warping, the carpet pops up on the side of the stairs, the alarm wire image showed through from the beginning which I had overlooked along with the cracked threshold the installer broke on the second stretch, and it only got worse and I was given about three different reasons why. Finally, the owner Rick Alleyn and his assistant came out to examine the carpet , Mr. Alleyn finally said he could fix my carpet if I had my alarm rewired at my expense! I pointed out the fact it is rippling and popping up in places where there is no wire and he had no reply other than what can I do for you. I initially asked for $300 to which he agreed and after examining my total cost of the job, $2,300 and the fact I'm left with a bad carpet job I advised Mr.Alleyn that $500 was more than fair for this terrible job but he would not budge. I reluctantly accepted the $300 as I figured it was better than nothing and it is so distressing to see how this carpet is holding up after only now 2 years.
