My bathroom was in massive need of an update/upgrade, and I had a vision in mind of an elegant and vintage-looking bathroom to match my 1930's house, while feeling fresh and luxurious. Constantin and Luis installed everything PERFECTLY- my pink ceramic shower tiles, new flooring, vanity and brass hardware, wainscoting and trim. They worked with me when I had questions and ideas that were out of the box. They are super reliable, have fair pricing, always show up right on time, problem solve as little things come up (which sometimes do in old houses like mine) and got the whole job done in less than a week. Returned to install the mirror that had come in the mail, I figured I'd bring up a leaky pipe joint at the same time, thinking they could come back another day and work on that next- but they got it done same- day, super fast, as Constantin didn't want to wait on something that important. I was reassured to have the pipe fixed right away when I wasn't expecting it! Needless to say I'll be working with them again on literally any future house needs- Constantin is super knowledgeable and experienced with general contracting and does flawless, detail oriented work that I trust. I'm so happy with how my bathroom turned out - it is beautiful.

In 2022 Ron was responsive and ensured the window panes were replaced. In May of 2026 more seals on the same batch of windows failed, but now Ron is no longer responsive. He put us in touch with an Alside branch manager (who FINALLY sent us a list of the serial numbers for our windows) and washed his hands of us. Ron didn't responded to my last email, just forwarded it to the Alside Rep. So while their work is fine, their customer service isn't.

It's vital for any interior designer to have trusted contractors they can recommend to clients,…read morebecause in the end, even the most beautiful design is only as good as its real-world execution. As a designer with extensive experience in the construction industry, my standards are higher than most--and I have complete confidence in Palmer Residential. I've worked with Ron and his skilled team on several projects, from large home renovations to small kitchen additions, and I'm always impressed with their professionalism and craftsmanship. My clients appreciate the results, of course, but they're also fans of Palmer Residential's collaborative process: Thanks to the team's emphasis on transparency and open communication, even complex remodels are as smooth and stress-free as possible. Perhaps most important, Palmer Residential approaches each project with a level of passion and dedication equaling that of the client and the designer. When you're trusting a contractor to help bring a unique vision to life, that means everything. And the proof is in the finished product, time and again.

Loved working with Ruslan and his team!…read more Being new to remodels I was really nervous about tackling our kitchen, especially after hearing experiences my friends had with other contractors. After working with Ruslan I would 100% use him again for future projects! Communication: We were supposed to start our remodel March 2020 and with COVID-19 we were delayed a couple months. During that time Ruslan was super transparent with timelines and was really great at communicating any changes. This continued even after we began our remodel. He was always responsive and answered the MANY questions I had for him in a timely manner. Quality: While working together you can tell Ruslan has a high bar for quality and loves what he does. He not only kept the house clean during the process but he would point out little details that were off and pushed his sub contractors to have that same bar and correct any mistakes that were made. Timeline: Our project was done on time! Even with the ups and downs of COVID-19 Ruslan provided a realistic timeline and we ended up moving back home when we expected. I would highly recommend Ruslan and his team! They were AMAZING.

Specialty Finish is the epitome of an honest business that gives timely and great advice…read more My front door started coming away from the frame, to the point I could no longer open it. Not knowing what the problem was exactly, I needed a carpenter. So, I googled Carpenters in the Seattle area and came up with this web site, Carpenters.Networx.com/Carpenters, which had a listing for Specialty Finish. During this past holiday weekend, in the evening, I sent an email to this business stating my need to get a door repaired. Within five minutes after sending the email, I received a phone call from Bob of Specialty Finish. He told me that, yes, he could come fix my door, but he wouldn't feel right about it because it would mean charging a couple hours labor for something as simple as replacing the existing screws with bigger screws. And this is something he said I could easily do myself. While Bob was on the phone with me, he had me unscrew one of the existing door screws, to confirm his suspicion they were woefully small and not up to the job. He was right, the screws for this big heavy door were less than 1/2" long. Side note to the Mercer Island-based builder of my home, what were you thinking? Anyways, Bob recommended 2" screws. I found screws meeting this specification in an IKEA repair kit we already had in the hall closet. It was an easy job to replace the screws and fix the door. Total repair cost: $0.00 Can't beat that. Many thanks to Bob and Specialty Finish.

I feel a moral obligation to write this review, given the stellar reviews…read more I waited a bit to review, because I wanted to make sure I had as much information as possible before writing it. I hired the team to hang and tape/mud about 1000 sqft of drywall. I had a number of quotes, and Solution DryTex was one of the higher ones, but still within reason. I went with them because of their responsiveness and friendliness. I fired them part way through the work. I had six other drywall companies out to inspect their work - all six said it was unacceptably poor - four of them said to tear it out and start over. As they started hanging, they were doing an alright job, though slightly messier than I would've liked. As they continued, they did a few things that were absolutely unacceptable: - Extensive over-driven screws, which means the drywall will not hold well - Breaks in drywall not directly over a stud/joist, which means the drywall will flex and crack - Extremely poor shimming, meaning the drywall will be crooked - Random pieces of trash sitting behind drywall, meaning the drywall wasn't sitting level - Unnecessary breaks in drywall, which will cause more visual imperfections. - Completely crooked pieces that won't be able to made to look good, no matter the amount of mud I brought up some of these concerns, and they attempted to fix them. The fixes were wholly inadequate. Before I had a chance to circle back with regards to those fixes, they begun taping. After I saw their taping work, I promptly fired them. The taping work contained a number of major problems: - Prefill huge gaps using premixed mud, which will take weeks to dry (if ever) - Mud all over my brand new windows - Bubbled tape that won't be able to be hidden - Globs of mud used to fill an inch wide gap - Corner beads with large curves in them I messaged them repeatedly, telling them they needed to return my money, given the fact that I was going to have to redo all of their work, and they wasted thousands of dollars in material. I received no responses. The team is very nice - they're a pleasure to be around. But no amount of kindness makes up for the fact that they have no idea what they're doing. I don't feel particularly good about leaving this review, but I think it's the right thing to do - I don't want them to take advantage of others like they took advantage of me. EDIT: In response to the owner: Scope of work: Correct, the work was interrupted before it was finished. This was after trying to get poor work corrected. I have also verified with six independent teams that the quality of the work was not such that it could be made to look good and last. Site conditions: Regarding framing, the team came out ahead of the project and spent quite a while measuring. If the framing was not acceptable, then that would've been the time to say so. Client collaboration: Now you're just being strictly dishonest, because moving the cabinets was explicitly included in the agreement. And you used _one_ sheet of drywall, mostly because you used the 1/2 drywall in the wrong places and needed to make up for that fact. Quality of work and adjustments: The work was so far from professional that it could not be adequately adjusted. I have verified this with SIX different companies, to make sure I'm being reasonable in my assessment. Track record: I can't speak to this. All I know is my experience.

Our…read more1908 house had gone through some unfortunate late mid-century re-modeling stripping its original character and cluttering it with junky finishing and inefficient design. Mike Dolge, Jason, and James helped us re-build the front half of the house to be a more open, larger feeling living area with clever and charming built-ins that add needed storage space while preserving flexibility. They were able to blend building back in some Craftsman detail with a more modern, lighter sensibility that makes it feel like we added SF. Of the many compliments that we've received, my favorite is "it looks like this is the way it was always supposed to be," even though it looks and feels very different. We are so pleased with how it came out. Mike is creative, an excellent listener and had many good suggestions as to how to improve the space in the way that we wanted in a cost-effective manner. Both Jason and James, who did the majority of the work, are highly skilled carpenters who care about quality. We're kinda particular (my husband is a designer), so they had to do alot of checking in with us and problem-solving to get what we wanted. The whole crew are nice guys who were kind to my children and careful with clean-up. Mike also hires excellent subs who built a beautiful re-purposed madrona floor and tiled fireplace that Jason finished with the most gorgeous mantle of madrona. Highly recommend.
