Server came almost immediately and brought drinks relatively quickly. Positives really end there. Started with potstickers. When done correctly, one side of the dumpling should be brown and a bit caramelized due to them sticking to the pot. Hence their name. These were pale and yet still hard in some areas. Plain dumplings. Whatever, not the main course so we'll survive. The Philly chicken hoagie came and as pictured had little to nothing inside of it. Sandwich was opened for the picture. Bun was fresh which is a positive when you're essentially eating just lettuce. Picture is clear it was not worth $13. Other meal was texas toast turkey club. It was plain lunch meat. Two thin slices of ham & turkey. Not only was this cold toast, it was barely considered Texas toast. It was painfully dry and was gifted about a tsp of mayo right in the center. Save yourself the time and make one at home. Save the money. Got a deep dish pizza to take home. I might be biased to other places but I cannot consider what is pictured to be a deep dish. If the toppings are thicker than the dough, it's a regular pizza. French fries were good.

What has happened to Carson's Tavern? We had dinner here previously and enjoyed the food. However,…read moretonight we ordered the beer battered white fish dinner with French fries and chili and a buffalo chicken sandwich with a cup of chili. The fish dinner was at least 50% of batter and much less fish. The batter was very dark and too hard to chew. Seemed burnt to me. The fries were also very dark but, most that I tried were not completely cooked, I.e. raw potato. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was for sure a frozen patty instead of a "real" or fresh piece of chicken. This trip to Carson's was a great disappointment for dinner. So again, I have to ask, what has happened to Carson's? To me this is a sign that owners/management have taken a road to cheapness of product.

Their burgers are good, as well. On my last visit I had the Horseradish Burger, which comes with cheese, bacon, fried onions and (of course) horseradish....it was delicious. Not greasy, good flavor, the works. My husband had a sausage burger...which is something I think he would steal for! He was very happy to see it on the menu and it didn't disappoint. He like the cole slaw...I did not. It was dry dry dry. As a few others have mentioned, you just simply can't give this place 5 stars. It's clean and inviting...but the atmosphere and menu and not exciting and nothing special. Also, the service isn't the best all time time.
