I must have spent two months interviewing different contractors before going with R&J. From the start to completion, the price I was quoted was the price I paid. Even through the pandemic. Along the way I was given many suggestions on how to improve my design and each recommendation I was given I went with and couldn't have been more pleased with the result. One of the most important things I want in any contractor is communication. Every text or call I made was promptly answered. This was a huge plus for me. Especially having never built a project of this scale. Btw, my project was a 26x40 3 car garage with a second level. So it was no small project. There are pictures on their faceboopage of my build and the outcome speaks for itself as to the quality and final result. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to build. I already know that going forward, this is the company I am going with.

Big Island Pond Remodeling & Replacement Specialists started with us by way of coming to our rescue one day, but ended up putting together show room quality work that was, and still is, the envy of our neighbors. You can stop reading right there if you like, but feel free to take a look at our journey... I first met Fred Pappalardo where he was volunteering his time and expertise with a local youth organization. I have to say, I liked him immediately, but I wasn't quite ready to take on any large projects at my Derry home. Well, winter would have something to say about that, because before I could get a handle on them, much of my home was overtaken with ice dams. Not knowing quite who to call, I called Fred for advice at first. Without hesitation Fred and his crew were at my house mitigating what had become some record-breaking ice dams. In my case the damage was extensive, but I really felt like I had a trustworthy friend in my corner to guide us through the process from insurance adjuster to full recovery. Some of the damage from the ice dams meant a bit of remodeling in our master bathroom was inevitable. Noting this was the case, my wife and I opted to move forward with a full master bath remodel we had been putting off. Fred, his wife Michelle, and the crew at Big Island Pond Remodeling approached the work with the same sense of urgency and balanced care I witnessed the first time they were at my house. For me, the real test of character in evaluating a contractor is the way they treat your home. Do they track mud in?, Do they bang walls?, Do they clean up after themselves?, Can you find where they took short cuts? BIP simply does it right, all the time. Today our bathroom could easily make the cover of any home improvement magazine and take top prize were it a contest of craftsmanship. If you are looking for a remodel, call Fred at Big Island Pond and tell him you want to see pictures of the remodeled bathroom from the house that had the disastrous ice dams, you'll be glad you did.

Project: 12 x 20 deck build. Cost Quote: $19,100.25…read moreThe Haseltine Builders website states the following: "Open Consistent communication." - Communication was to lacking at best. Both between Haseltine and myself / and the Haseltine crew and office. "Crew Lead assigned to your project from start to finish." "Each customer meets the crew lead at the start of their project to know who will be there every step of the way." - I was never introduced to project crew lead. Never was kept informed of schedule or progress of project. "The company offers Attention To Detail on any project." - Attention To Detail was no existent. Review: The initial meeting with Nick went fine. The $19,100.25 cost seemed high to me but, upon reading the claims on their website, I decided to give Haseltine Builders a try. Once Haseltine had my deposit of $13,775.25 (100% of material & 25% of labor) things seemed to change. The build was supposed to take approx. 1 week. The "original" build did take about that, however, I was never informed that Haseltine had "completed" the deck build and regarded it as such. I subsequently received an invoice (which happened to be incorrect). I was never asked to do a walk-thru for my approval of build "completion". Upon inspection the "completed" deck, I raised concerns about the quality of the work. The wrong railings were installed, the stair build was horrible (nothing was level, all measurements were different, all cuts were terrible). These were just the main issues. The more I looked, the more I found. The original deck build was horrible and trying to fix it was like putting lipstick on a pig. I had Nick Haseltine come out to walk through the construction issue. Nick did agree with every issue that was pointed out to him. I still think these issues should not have had to be pointed out by me. These issues were apparent and should have been identified & addressed by Haseltine before they considered the build complete. In any case, Nick asked me to give him a chance to make right, which I did. He had another crew come out to try and fix all the issues with the stairs (among other things). They tried to do so but the original stair build, (which they tried to pass off as complete), was so bad they decided to demolish the "original" stairs and rebuild them from scratch. Nick did try to make it right but never inspected the quality of the work which led to me having to keep point out the poor quality workmanship. (which led to more corrections). I believe someone from Haseltine should have been checking the quality of work, making sure it was up to the "attention to detail" they claim to have. I was very accommodating to Haseltine Builders. I supplied a portable bathroom (at my expense) for his workers on the first build. I left out a cooler with water for his workers (days were hot) during the second build. I got very frustrated but was always cordial to Haseltine Builders and their employees. I could go on and on about the issues on this project. I never have received an apology from anyone at Haseltine Builders for my time & inconvenience in dealing with all the horrible build issues and shoddy workmanship. A one week deck build ended up being almost 2 months of frustration. I finally got fed up with having Haseltine come back out to "fix" the issues because every time they would say they were complete, inspection of the "completed" work resulted in more issues. I was not going to write a review, however, I decided to do so. I felt the need to warn any of you thinking about hiring Haseltine Builders. At this point, I would not hire Haseltine builders to build a sandbox for me, if I needed one. IF YOU READ THIS REVIEW AND STILL DECIDE TO HIRE HASELTINE BUILDERS FOR YOUR PROJECY(S), BE AWARE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless, fulfilling, and enjoyable. Design and Planning: Right from our first consultation, I was impressed with the team's professionalism and attention to the slightest detail. Steve Okun and Katia Samuelson took the time to listen to my vision and desires for my home, offering valuable insights and suggestions that aligned with my budget and lifestyle. The architectural designs were not only innovative but also functional, capturing the essence of what I wanted perfectly. Dube Plus turned my wants, needs and desires into a tangible set of plans and drawings that brought my vision to life. Communication: Throughout the entire process, communication was a top priority for Dube Plus. I received regular updates from Mark Warren on the progress of construction and he encouraged voicing any questions or concerns as they arose. Their team was incredibly responsive, ensuring I was involved every step of the way. The design expertise of Brittany Dube and Jill McNeil ensured that all selections not only met functional requirements but added beauty and form to the home. This level of transparency and assistance provided me with peace of mind and built my confidence in their expertise. Quality of Work: The craftsmanship displayed throughout the build is nothing short of exceptional. Every detail, from the foundation to the fixture installations, displayed their commitment to quality. The materials used were high-grade and well-sourced, contributing to the overall durability and beauty of the home. I was particularly impressed by the skilled tradespeople they employed, whose workmanship truly reflects Dube Plus's exacting standards. Everyone I met involved my home's construction was polite, hard working and fully engaged in satisfying me as the customer. Timeliness: The project completed ahead of schedule, which was a pleasant surprise. I was fully prepared for potential delays, but Dube Plus managed to keep everything on track without sacrificing quality. This efficiency allowed me to take possession of my new home sooner than expected. Final Touches: The final walkthrough exceeded my expectations. Every detail discussed had been addressed by the team and the house was clean and ready for me to move in. Their diligence in the finishing touches--like finish grading, paving and external elements--made my new house feel like a home from day one. Overall Experience: In conclusion, my experience with Dube Plus Construction has been overwhelmingly positive. They have transformed my dream into a tangible reality, and I am in love with my new home. If you are considering building a new home, adding an addition, remodeling, need restoration services (fire, water, and wind) or excavation help, I wholeheartedly recommend Dube Plus Construction. They combine creativity, quality, and exceptional customer service to deliver results that are sure to impress! Thank you, Dube Plus, for making my dream a reality--I am eternally grateful!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Dube Plus was recommended to me through Innovations Properties…read moreafter experiencing a flood at our home and having filed an insurance claim. Based on my conversation with Innovations, I was confident in their recommendation. That was a HUGE mistake! Not only did the project take longer than expected, I had to hound them to finish the bathroom and end up getting the run around from their so called "project manager", who clearly doesn't have any experience in the field but just so happens to have the same last name as the company...nepotism, anyone? The bathroom was finally finished after weeks of phone calls, texts, emails, etc when they finally just replaced the unfinished countertop and backsplash. After 6 months in the new kitchen, the dishwasher appeared out of place. After having LG come out to look at it, as it was still under warrantee, they proceed to tell me that the machine wasn't installed properly and was never attached to the cabinets! Just slid into place and left to move around with each use. I was FINALLY able to get someone from Dube out to the house after 5 days of phone calls, and was told they never removed the plastic shipping brace when they installed it 6 months prior. Talk about amateur hour! The most important thing I can warn people of is the fact that 3 pieces of jewelry went missing from our home while they were working there. We were promised that we could feel comfortable with people in the house when we weren't home, but clearly this was not true. All I have to say is beware of these people! They are small time amateurs who can not be trusted!
