The front desk staff is unprofessional and incompetent. The 2920 office is the worse. They forget to check you in and then want to charge a no show fee when you ask to reschedule. I'm disappointed. I've been taking my kids here for years but it's just gone down hill. read more

If I could choose no stars I would! The staff is unprofessional, they leave you on hold for an extreme amount of time - more than 15 minutes average, the physician that saw my son didn't even make a diagnosis! It could be this or could be that! The nurse that was sent to clean out my son's ears couldn't get any wax out of his ears, (2 We did more at home with a bulb syringe and got a lot of wax out, the prescriptions were sent in late and we had to wait until the next day to get them. I would not entrust my children's or teen's care with this practice. Not to mention, if you are private pay they treat you like you're trash. We waited in a room for 58 mins before being seen. After seeing what they charge for private vs insurance. I'm pretty sure they should be checked for insurance malpractice and fraud! Quite the up charge there! Worst place ever! read more

Worst pediatrician office I've ever been to. Don't even know how to verify insurance. Waited over an hour. Untrained and unprofessional.

This place is VERY unprofessional . I've given them chance after chance to get there acts together and they just can't do it. They called me a week in advance to schedule my sons 3 yr old checkup, they asked me to send them my insurance I did. The day of the appointment my insurance still wasn't verified , The staff is unprofessional and The doctors take their time getting to the patients . I would advice EVERYONE to not take your child or Children here. It will be a waste of time and if you are like me it will be a waste of your private insurance and money . read more

My daughter took her son in to diagnose a problem he was having. They took blood tests to see if there was an infection. They called my daughter (who is a nurse) and said no infection. When my daughter asked about a couple results that seemed out of range, they wouldn't have the doctor call her without paying another visit. That is not a facility focused on patient care. read more

One of the worse offices to go to .. we've been patients here for 7 years since my son was born ! I've dealt with rudeness attitude and lack of knowledge but I kept going because I preferred to keep my kids with the same doctor . They only care about money and that's it they don't care about anything else other than that . Not even the fact that your insurance has been paying for your visits they still try to charge you because THEY DONT VERIFY CORRECTLY and only verify once a month which is really beyond me .They've seen my insurance pay the last EOBS but again they're just money hungry. I have a 4 week l baby that's sick that I rushed to our appointment (it was all they had ) and I couldn't even get her seen . I stopped coming to this location because the staff was really bad and made anyone feel unwelcome . But I had to because they never have any appointments available at the 2920 location . The other location is just as bad I will be posting the same review there so everyone knows what they're dealing with . There's no COMMUNICATION at all with either location you just basically wait to find everything out when you walk in. read more

Best Pediatrician in the area period! Three years ago, I moved to the Cypress area, and even though this is a 45 minute drive for us, I continue to bring my daughter here. I have NEVER had a bad experience at Northwoods Pediatrics. My daughter is now 14, but has been going to them for years. They are always quick to schedule her appointments and it is never a hassle. I have never waited for more than 20-25 minutes after my appointment to see the Doctor, unlike other offices where an hour later, I am still waiting. The office is clean and well staffed. The office staff is friendly and helpful, I have never encountered anyone that was rude or unhelpful. The doctors and PA are phenomenal. My daughter always remarks how much she likes Dr. Islam. He is very professional and nice. Our last visit my daughter had a bad rash on her inner thigh (Eczema). She remarked how she is sometimes nervous with male doctors, but she felt more than comfortable with Dr. Islam. He is professional, explains just what he is going to do beforehand, and asked her permission to raise her shirt (checking for Scoliosis) and to check her inner thigh. He answered both of our questions thoroughly and spent time speaking with my daughter. He even took the time to answer my daughter's questions about the medical field (she wants to be a doctor). You never feel like you are being rushed or he needs to get to the next appointment. I appreciate that. The only downside to this office is that they are closed on Saturdays! I wish they weren't because sometimes it is hard to get to the office for an appointment during the week with having to juggle my daughter's school and then her after school activities. I have recommended this office to my family and friends, and now several of my family members use Northwoods now as well and love it just as much as I do. I will be sad to have to say goodbye to Northwoods, when my daughter turns 18! read more

Dr. Do is super awesome and helpful! Never had to wait long or had unanswered questions. She was always professional but really caring. I have nothing but good things to say about the Northwoods team. Even though I only saw Dr. Do for my newborn, everyone in the office was always friendly and everyone was super patient with my millions of concerns via the phone. The only reason I'm not going there anymore is because I moved. I would definitely recommend Dr. Do for new moms! She had great advise and tips that made mom life easier! read more

As much as I have enjoyed bringing my children to the borough park location the time it takes to be seen by a doctor is very frustrating for both the parent and the child - who we all know aren't the best at being patient. Every single time I make an appointment which is not hard to do it takes almost an hour to be seen by the actual doctor. I will not be bringing my children here anymore. The headache I have to deal with from waiting so long has been going on long enough and not how a pediatrician office should be! read more

So sad to have to write this review. This is strictly for Dr. Shah and the administrative staff. My daughter's PCP WAS Dr. Roxanne George who we LOVE! But after this last experience our daughter will no longer be a patient here. My daughter was seen last month because she had a high fever and wasn't eating. My husband took her for her appointment and I called to check on them to see how things were going. He said "they're running tests to see what's wrong and they want her to have her vaccines"... (insert record scratch) I immediately told him to hold off on the vaccines until she was well... After all they hadn't even found out what the issue was. My husband kept trying to tell me that it was okay as the doctor was pushing to get the vaccines administered. I put my foot down and said no! After that the results came back that she had strep. My husband let them know that we were going to decline the vaccines for the day and would reschedule for when she was well. Apparently the nurse had already drawn them up. Although NO meds were drawn up in the room! The doctor tells my husband that we would have to pay for the medications because they were basically wasted... ummmm hell no we're not! My husband signed the declination form and left with the prescription for my daughter's antibiotic. No after visit summary was given Two days ago we received a bill in the mail that is void of the copay we paid for the visit and full of vaccination charges!! I check my insurance and they didn't even attempt to request for refund...Because it's their cost and they should eat it. Today I spoke to the clinic manager who tells me that they never waste medications and that because my husband initially said yes to the vaccines, we were basically responsible. The response to never even seeing the meds be drawn up? "We never draw the medications in the room"... So I'm supposed to ASSUME you're using clean needles?! Incompetent staff trying to foot the bill to the patient due to poor workflow. A shame that they'll miss out on 14 more years of patient visits over $180... go at your own risk!! read more

The front desk staff is rude. The billing department is shady. We had overpaid for a visit and the only reason I knew was because I reviewed the explanation of benefits from the insurance company. When I called to ask for a refund they already knew one was owed but said that they left it as a credit on my account just in case somewhere down the road we ended up owing them money. Mind you they never informed me of the overpayment. On another occasion I was told that we had $13 left to meet our insurance deductible but that they would take a $25 copay - again just in case. Not sure how the math adds up on that one. I also agree with the other review where the parent felt that their children were sent for unnecessary testing - as mine were too. read more

Our doctor was great, although he wasn't my daughter's original doctor. Parking is awkward, but it's close to the building. The wait time was like your average doctor's office, about 30-45 minutes. The waiting area is adorable, and there is even a rather large fish tank for the kids to enjoy while waiting for their appointment. read more

Awful about retuning phone calls; not consistent between the doctor and staff; willing to use scare tactic verbiage to force unnecessary and elective procedures; will not transfer medical information to new doctors unless forced to! The only saving grace is the doctors are amazing with kids. The office needs help though!! read more

My daughter had Dr.klimis we did not like her she was in and out in 5 minutes barely can get a word in to ask questions. Felt like she was sending us to get her tested for things she didn't need, and at at the next visit wouldn't bring it up. Very loud. And when we were able to ask a question me and my sister heard her talking to the nurse about us for asking a question she thought to be "dumb". The nurses are nice though. read more

This by far is the worst experience I have had at a visit to the Pediatrician. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my appointment time to fill out paperwork. 30 minutes after my appt time they called me up to say they were having troubles verifying my insurance, and that maybe I should call the ins. company to sort it out. I called and was able to verify immediately, and gave my phone to the office staff to work it out. Come to find out they were verifying with the wrong ins. company. I was still not seen by a Dr until 2 HOURS PAST my appt time. I believe I am now in the market for a new Pediatrician! read more

Not really sure about the previous 2 reviews. I have been taking my kids there for 3 years and I absolutely love this office. True, the wait can be long but they are an extremely busy office. They always get back with me when I email them through the "Patient Portal" same day. They can always get me in same day when needed, other places it would take days before a Dr was available. So that is a MAJOR plus in my books.. Dr.'s are EXCELLENT as well as the staff. Front desk is always exceptionally nice. I have ran into a couple bad nurses but that can happen nearly anywhere.. also I have not experienced more than 1 bad encounter with each of them, so I assume they were let go. They do have anti bacterial dispensers outside the room and I have seen the nurses sanitize before shots. Dr Islam, Dr Do and Dr Kato are among my favorites. You can tell they really care about their patients. Great job guys! read more

The girls in the front are not welcoming at all. I was billed for something that was not discussed with me. I called -no answer. I left and voice mail and a week and a half later was called back. The wait time is pretty long and lobby isn't very clean. read more
