Had Justin come out for an inspection since my ac went down and he was extremely helpful and honest, he answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. After inspection he was able to set me up with service and had a technician come out and give me a detailed repair. They explained everything thoroughly and got my ac fixed! Thank you Justin ! Northwind heating and air was running a promotion through Lowe's for $29 service. So I went ahead and scheduled an appointment . The day of my appointment. I did not receive a phone call but rather a text message saying that their service Technician had been injured and wanted to reschedule for a another date that was included in my text . still within beginning days of summer no problem ,I thought . When I called back to confirm the receptionist proceeds to tell me that they gave that date and time away and would need to move my appointment out further. . She wanted to schedule for the end of July when my initial appt was the beginning of of June . I went ahead and canceled and went with another company.. Northwind seems to not have their scheduling nor enough employees to handle wanting to run promotions with big box companies. To add to this Company! My daughter went thru the same issue but she kept her appointment just for them to call her and tell her even though they had to reschedule her service call 2 x the promotion ended but they could go out for reg price. For which she also cancelled . Northwind do better. read more

Our old AC unit went out last week or so and had northwind come out and put a new one. After the replacement, we've had it go out again THREE times each in 1-2 day increments in which all three times we had to call them to come out. Each time they said it should be "good" and that they "tightened" whatever needed to be tightened. Trust issues have definitely formed around this so-called "brand new AC unit." They are definitely very kind and attentive when called and have showed up same day but we are also tired of these visits. They did a great job with replacing our rooftop A/C unit. Alex and Luis made sure it was done right. They had to run back to the shop and fabricate a new stand and returned within a few hours. We got a great price (our home warranty did help). Once they were done they picked up everything and left the roof looking like nobody had been up there working. read more

North Winds installed a new Hvac, whole house fan, and air filtration system today. They did an excellent job. Four technicians and a crane driver were at the house first thing in the morning and they did an excellent job. I used this company to get my HVAC repair via AHS. Their technician has no clue about my 20SEER state of the art, latest Rheem Heat pump. Rather than owning their ignorance, they decided to work on it and screwed it even more. After the next recall, they reported to the AHS that someone else has yanked a wire and for the reason, AHS refused to cover the repair. There was no one other than this company who worked on my furnace and went to the attic. Both the time when this company arrived, me or my wife was present physically and they never mention anything to us or showed us anything but reported something totally different to AHS. So it was too shocking and I have to pay another company finally to get their bad work fixed. So not only highly unprofessional and at the same time dishonest. read more

Do not use this company. They came out to my home on a service call for my home warranty american home shield and said they washed the condenser coil and that it was completely plugged. They also changed the condenser fan motor and cap which mysteriously stopped working while they were servicing it and they added stop leak and noted found no other issues and system working properly at this time. AND CHARGED ME 280.00 for unnecessary work! First why would you add stop leak if there is no leak? Secondly upon requesting another diagnosis from another company it was found the whole ac unit coil inside and condenser outside had to be replaced due to multiple leaks and a rusted out coil which ahs covered. We now have a new ac no thanks to this companies poor work and Mis diagnosis read more

It's been a month and I still don't have a working AC unit.... First guy came out for a service call and said the wrong freon was used last service and it will need to be flushed and replaced....only problem was that specific service tech doesn't do freon change....no problem I thought because they scheduled the right technician A WEEK later....he shows up and finds wires spliced, gas values hanging in the unit and no safety switches...he deemed it unsafe to work on and didn't do anything. THE FIRST TECHNICIAN DIDNT SEE ANY OF THESE THINGS?! WTF?!?! a month later I still don't have AC and I'm really enjoying going to bed when my house is 89 degrees at 10pm at night.......run away from this company run FAR AWAY! read more

BEWARE if using Northwind for AC repairs. Northwind was sent out by AHS to repair non cooling AC. They left and said they would not work on AC because it did not have an electrical disconnect on it. Told us to have an electrician install the missing component and then they would immediately comeback and do the repair. We found an electrian who was compassionate enough to get the job done within an hour of our call. Called AHS and asked for a follow up by Northwind to go back and complete the job as they had promised. Advised by AHS Northwind had closed the job so we would now have to resubmit another service request, which also meant we would have to pay another copay. AHS said that if the dispatcher at Northwind would give them a call and request that they reopen the original job request then we would not have to pay another copay. We called and spoke to dispatcher Roy and told him the electrical repair was completed and asked him to reopen the original job request. The job should not have been closed, but he absolutely refused to reopen it even though he originally said they would go back and do the repair after electrical work was completed. So he got paid for the first call when he did absolutely nothing and now is forcing us to submit another service request before they will do the repair, which is causing us to pay another copay. We have a family with a newborn baby living in 106 degree weather without AC and he still wouldn't budge and reopen the original work order and complete the job as promised. We have wasted another day trying to get this resolved and tenants are still without AC. I don't know how AHS pays their contractors, but money must be the motivating factor for him to refuse to reopen the first work order or he is just a mean hearted man. Don't trust NORTHWIND HEATING AND AIR, INC. With your A/C unit. They came out to our house to fix our A\C but only screwed it up more. Then they sent a tech out that disassemble the whole unit and fried it. They sent out the supervisor to repair it. He admitted that the other guy screwed it up. It worked for a little over a week. It's down again. I called them back and now they are refusing to come back out. Now I am fighting with our home warranty company trying to get it resolved. read more

I have read other reviews from others and they had the same experience. I think AHS pays them low ball and they in turn order the parts but use them on other non-home warranty customers. We were assigned Northwind Heating and Air by American Home Shield. I wish that they had been sent from the beginning. We were initially sent another contractor who supposedly didn't find anything wrong with my moms AC unit. The other contractor came out 3 times and told us that the AC unit was fine and was working properly yet the house was still hot with the outside temperatures hitting the triple digits(this was back in August). Northwind Heating and Air was finally sent out by AHS. As soon they arrived they found the issue. He was able to get the unit running and cooling the house down in about 30 minutes. When the other company came out 3 times and could not figure it out. Five stars definitely earned. Really glad with their service. read more
