I cannot say enough good things about Northwest Pharmaceuticals Compounding Pharmacy. No matter what your pharmacy needs are - you should use these folks... but for folks like my wife who need special treatment, they're a God send. My wife has MCAS, which makes finding medications she can tolerate incredibly challenging. Even very small amounts of fillers, sweeteners, flavors, dyes, or unnecessary additives can cause reactions for her. She often needs prescriptions compounded with the absolute minimum number of ingredients possible, and not every pharmacy understands how critical that is. Mike, the owner, truly gets it. I've been the one working most directly with the pharmacy, and I am genuinely so grateful for the care and attention Mike has shown us. From day one, he has treated my wife's case with seriousness, patience, and real compassion. He has worked closely with her doctors to make sure each medication is compounded exactly the way she needs it, stripped down to the simplest formulations possible. Whenever something needs adjusting, he takes the time to talk it through and problem solve with us. What really sets him apart is how far he is willing to go for his patients. There have been times when our schedule or her health made it difficult to pick up prescriptions during regular hours, and Mike has been willing to meet me at the pharmacy on Sunday mornings when they are formally closed just to make sure my bride had what she needed. That level of dedication is rare. Living with complex medical issues can be overwhelming, but having a pharmacist who treats you like a person and not just a prescription number makes all the difference. My wife is definitely a special case with complicated needs, and Mike has consistently bent over backwards to make it work. We are incredibly thankful to have found him. I am writing this much belated review to express my deep appreciation for Mike, the owner of this company. I was caring for a pet in early September for a friend who was overseas. This lovely female dog has a condition called Wilson's Disease, and the person who was elected to send me her compounded medication from Oregon was late in doing so. I made several calls to various Compounding Pharmacies in my area, and found only one who could compound the prescription the dog needed. Mike worked patiently and graciously with the pet's vet in Oregon and myself on a very busy Saturday to create the necessary dosage for this animal. I've been using this place for 7 years now. I used to really like them and Mike the owner was always very kind however, in the past year or two, he has hired on some of the most entitled and rude workers I've seen. Every phone call or request I have now with NW Pharmaceutical can be counted on to be a negative experience. I have also recently discovered that I can get the same medication cheaper is every place that I've gotten quotes from. So not only have I been paying more than I should all these years, I have also been met with horrible customer service as well. Unfortunately, I will be looking at a new compounding place and although the owner is very nice, he should put more emphasis on hiring better employees. read more

my experience with northwest pharmaceutical compounding is more than 7 years. the owner mike is so caring and one time he actually drove to sequim to deliver a much needed medication. also, the people hired there are very caring and always make sure all needs are met. the compounding medication's are the only ones i am able to tolerate and i will never use another pharmacy as i always feel i am in good hands. read more

Mike is the best! When my pup had an emergency, we eventually made our way up to the VSC in Lynnwood. After prescribing some meds, I told them there was no way in hell my dog would take 3 pills a day so they recommended NW Pharmaceuticals to get her meds turned into liquid. I immediately called while waiting at the ER and Mike got all of my info and was super friendly and understanding and the next day we were there to pick up. Mike explained each of the meds which were now yummy chicken flavored and wished me the best. He also let me know they had free shipping so I wouldn't have to drive up from Seattle if I didn't want to. Ffwd to yesterday when our normal vet wanted to prescribe a new medication. They sent it straight to Mike and before I could even call Mike- he called me! He asked if we liked the chicken flavor and that he'd send it right out in the mail. In the whirl of Christmas, I lost the paper for the medication and didn't know the pharmacy name - but I just found it in a drawer! I love this pharmacy! Pharmacist Mike and his staff are very willing to work with you and your doctor on compounding medicines. I have a few complicated formulas and they are great to work with. They price match which made it easier to switch over to them. They also provide fast, free shipping (which during COVID has been awesome). I appreciate the communication and integrity they have when dealing with customers. The containers they use for the compounding medicines are easy to use, which I appreciate. Horrible place they had a issue with a card and left me threatening voice mails to call and pay by black mail. Then the charged Ore then the said I owed to my credit card will be calling my back in the am and reporting them a fraud the charge a extra 60 that I do not owe will never go back. I have had prescriptions compounded here for almost four years. My first time walking in, the pharmacist talked to me for 10-15 minutes about compounding, educating me with information on exactly what they do, how, and why. I was informed on the government regulations on compounding pharmacies. Fascinating stuff, by further mollifying any and all concerns I had about a new medication and how it would be administered from that point forth. A year or so later when my dose changed, they worked on cost saving measures. While it is true that they don't work with some insurance companies, YOU can still file for a reimbursement. Let's face it, insurance companies are horrible to work with on both provider and customer side. In pulling them up on google, I was surprised to see 3.5 stars and read some reviews, and would like to vehemently refute what those people have said by reminding any potential customer that this is a pharmacy filling some strange prescriptions for some strange illnesses, including rarer forms of mental illness (source: my own strange mental illness). I'd take these fantastical stories they shared I their negative reviews with a grain of salt. Nothing but good things to say in regards to my many experiences here. :) read more

I came in to pick up a prescription for my cat. I found the service to be fine and helpful. The pharmacist gave me all the info I needed and was very friendly. I give 3 stars because of the cost. My vet was able to locate a compounding pharmacy that charges 1/2 as much for the same product. Since my cat will probably need this prescription for the rest of his life and I don't have insurance for him, this is a big deal. Well, since I started using Kuslers's in Snohomish, I realized that not only was I charged twice as much, they were giving me 1/2 as much product as well. The doses were totally different - like the dose from NW was twice as much - so I asked my vet about it. They said the dose was higher at NW because it had a lower amount of medication per dose. Basically it was watered down, so I would have to buy more sooner. Not cool. I am lowering my stars to 1 due to this. read more

The service is about what I expected for a pharmacy located in the back of a gift shop that fills "medications" that regular pharmacies can't fill. I called a few weeks prior about a medication my psychiatrist thought would be helpful for me and I asked about other ways it can be administered. The pharmacist, Mike, scoffed and got defensive, saying he's sold "thousands" of these pills when no one else I've talked with online - in forums with 10k+ users about just this medicine - have never heard of it being swallowed. When I finally got my prescription today Mike seemed rushed and a bit confused, and didn't offer any explanation or even verified what he was giving to me. He and his son, Ryan, seemed confused over what to do. I received the medication just fine, but suspect a bit of filler since I'm swallowing it and that's not what anyone else has heard of. Giving 3 stars instead of 4 because Mike tried to make me sign a HIPAA form that would allow any doctor to talk with him about what he provided me. Absolutely not! I also paid $20 more than I was quoted for one month. I'll be making some more phone calls to other compounding pharmacies after deciding if I want to keep using this medication to compare price and options. read more

Use extreme caution in regards to price. Shop around for cheaper options. Similar to a previous post, I feel I was overcharged. The same compound NorthWest filled for $89 was $36 at another pharmacy and it had 5mL MORE than the prescription NorthWest filled. That's TEN more doses at almost one third the cost! I won't be using these guys again! read more

Poor service. Never been to a compounding pharmacy and it was all new to me and my newborn... They don't help with the insurance paperwork and have you send it in yourself. We left as we thought our business was not appreciated. read more

Horrible service. the pharmacist acts and sounds like a used car sales men but with medicine. We had several stressful problems with them. #1) someone there struggles with numbers and they are all very much in denial and defensive to the extent of hanging up on me and my brother several times. They told us three of our credit cards didn't work so we wasted hours calling our credit cards, which, of course had no issues. #2) We had to go to other pharmacies because the prescriptions they claim to have sent never showed up AND THEY CHARGED OUR CARD HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! Then they gave me the wrong tracking number (short the amount of numbers) and I spent hours trying to track down the package that they said was undeliverables to my home, as if it was my fault. Turned out they didn't even put a street number on the package SO THEY DIDN'T DO IT RIGHT AGAIN - someone has problems with numbers AND even though it is in route back to them and we have all confirmed this they will not refund out credit card hundreds of dollars they charge us. Interesting the credit card worked for them AFTER I SAID I DID NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AND HAD TO GO PAY FOR THE MEDICATIONS ELSEWHERE. #3) Their prices are not the best either, even though they say they match and beat others. For example they want $150 for a drug I got for $60 at rite aid and $200 for a drug I am getting for $88 at Axis pharmacy. I am very understanding about learning disabilities, I was a teacher for 20 years but Gas lighting me and blaming me and hanging up on me for four days - stressful and unacceptable. Charging our credit card and not refunding us when they made the mistake and they know its in route back to them so we can't go Christmas shopping this weekend- unacceptable! Us having to start the whole process over again, having the Dr. who prescribed the medication to have to also call it in to other pharmacies and then charge our cards minus what they are holding and not refunding us? WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A PHARMACY. I have been getting my medications at the same pharmacy for 15 years and never had anything like this happen - didn't get these medications at my regular pharmacy to save money. And lastly, remember anyone can write a review. " I am pretty sure we are not the only people who have had bad experiences and one of their "good reviews" looks an awful lot like an employee that works there??? read more

Michael was fantastic on both the telephone educating me and then in person filling my prescription. I had been quoted over $500 for a named brand phamaceutical and my insurance was going to cover $200 of the cost leaving me with $300 on a monthly basis. Michael suggested I use a compounded solution that was not named brand but the SAME EXACT COMPONENTS and it is 100% covered by my insurance. Thank you for your help Michael. read more
