Their housewares section is always amazing, full of really useful and excellent condition items for the home. There are often full collections donated. Pricing is very reasonable. Their new furniture store is gorgeous, you can find anything you need from chairs, lamps, pictures, fans, home decor, bedspreads, blankets, vases, mirrors-you name it you can find it and it will be in excellent used condition but also a lot of new items too. Best place to shop although their shoe selection is small (and the only place I found items not in top condition) and their childrens and mens selection is small. (Most people don't think to donate men's clothing or items for some reason, it's basically women.). Women's clothing is not "Maxanista" it's for more mature women but accessories fit all. The highlight of my visit here was that I found some good condition Jordan Proto-max 720 sneakers in my size. I'm not a giant sneaker head...just a tiny bit and could tell before looking it up it was a steal. After doing so, I was right - $29.99 but they go for over $130! They may be dead stocked at this point. Needless to say, these were scooped immediately.

Each Friday is "Teen Feed", a safe place for kids to find a hot meal and hang out with others their age. Being in need is not a requirement, kids from all backgrounds appeared to be represented during my visit. I learned that the center provides some job training, including having the teens run the on site cafe. They have job training classes for baristas, including latte art! Career coaching, culinary art classes, yoga, piano, all kinds of cool classes! Music shows, open mic, art, plenty of activities keeping the local kids out of trouble. The center also provides many opportunities for kids to volunteer. Love it!

They have "Teen Feed" every Friday, where kids enjoy a hot meal and a safe place to hang out, socialize and play games. They have Barista classes, job skills training, community activism and volunteer opportunities, routinely host live shows featuring local teen bands, have silk screening classes and equipment time for rent, have audio mix/recording classes and rent studio time, and so much more. Centrally located by a movie theater, local park, library and the transit center, they help build a community where kids can play, socialize, learn skills, meet new people and do more than just "hang out" or wander around town bored. Their cafe will soon be open to the public, staffed by volunteers who graduate the barista and server classes. If you stop in, be sure to tip well: that awesome latte you get might just be made by one of my kids! (I will absolutely hunt you down if you don't)

From tutoring and college preparation, to school supplies and clothing, to after school care and summer activities, Treehouse improves the lives of thousands of foster kids and helps meets economic needs that foster parents sometimes cannot. Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. It was a fulfilling and heartwarming day of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the services this organization provides or suggest it as a nonprofit worthy of your support.
