It's been a while since I was last in Port Townsend and it seemed like a whole string of new shops have sprung up since I was last there. On my last visit Northwest Man was a shop that I haven't visited before. I'm not too sure if it's new or if I just missed it on previous visits to downtown Port Townsend. Anyway I made in here the last time and really liked it. The quality of the clothing seems very good. I enjoyed their flannel shirt selection and their solid cologne selection a lot! The sales staff was very friendly and helpful which always a plus! Northwest Man had an impressive clearance section as well where the price cuts were very generous. I passed up on any purchases here on my first visit here but I may very well make a trip back to stock up on some of that solid cologne! I was very intrigued by that and all of the fragrances smelled great! read more

It was the jacket hanging on the rack right inside the front door that sucked me in. It was the Pendleton sweaters on sale half-off that finished me. The Northwest Man is a neat little menswear shop on the quaint historic downtown strip in Port Townsend. Specializing in mostly Pendleton and Cutter & Buck merchandise, the selection consists of quality goods at to-be-expected prices. The shop is crammed full of racks stacked with button up shirts, sweaters, jackets, club shirts, etc... all sorts of stuff. But it's the jam-packed sale rack that had me digging and digging and digging. I scoped quite a few very nice Pendleton button up shirts that were cut down even so far as the teens in price, but ended up scoring 2 deep-V Pendleton sweaters for 50% off. Stoked. The ladies that work there are super nice but they operate on some ancient cash register so checking out is a bit of a chore. They have to hand-write SKU's and shit, but they're prepared to exempt sales tax for Oregon residents, which is a bonus for me! I had to drag myself out of this store to keep from spending a couple of hundred $$ on some seriously refined sweaters, including this classic Pendleton cardigan that I had my eye on. Sickness. I'll definitely be hitting this place up next time I'm in Port Townsend. read more

Northwest Man - Men's Clothing Near Me - Port Townsend, Washington

Please do not shop here Bought two items a month ago and was told that everything was pre-shrunk and that everything could be returned so long as I brought the receipt and the original tags back. One of the shirts shrunk insanely so I decided to return. I brought it in today to return and the cashier, who apparently is the manager, told me I couldn't return because I had washed it. I told her that I was told that I could bring it back so long as I had the tags and receipts. She said no we don't know how you washed it so I couldn't return. I told her I was not informed of that. She replied, "What store allows you to return things after washing?" I reply back, "Literally every other store in the world." She fires back, "Are you being serious right now?" No, the whole time I was joking! I then asked for an in-store credit and she refused. There's a sign posted right above her head that says they DO in-store credits. The sign also says nothing about not allowing washed clothes. Expensive, deceitful, and poor customer service. read more

Before I even talk about the clothes, it must be noted that the guy working here is fantastic. If he's not the manager, he should be. Such a genuinely nice guy with off the chart customer service. I enjoy popping in to say hello whenever I'm in town. As for the clothing itself, there are some high-quality items here. As a man in my thirties, there are options here for me, but it definitely feels like more of a store that I'll grow into as I age. :) I have purchased some great sweaters here, and if my head wasn't so big, I'd be buying some hats, too. The only downside is that it's very expensive, so I can't always buy the things I want. Of course, that comes with higher quality items, but I'd love to see some more options for those of us with smaller wallets. I fell in love with a pair of jeans, but for $75 I had to pass. Still, not a lot of options for men's clothing in town, so definitely come spend some time here. read more

During One of our ( my husband and I travel quite a bit to Port Townsend, WA because I still have Family and Friends in that Area ) Visits to Downtown Port Townsend, WA... we went looking for some New Pajamas for my Husband. He forgot his at Home that Time. We found a Great Looking Pair for him at The Northwest Man Store. It had moved from the shared Location where it had First Opened up and shared Space with the Store Up Above The Clothes Horse ( I don't remember the Name of that store... oh, well ). The Salesperson was friendly, but NOT TOO friendly, if you know what I mean. They had LOTS of Pajamas to choose from, for which I am Very Glad. :) Otherwise, my husband would have had to Sleep in his Clothes during that Trip to Port Townsend, WA. I recently purchased a Filson wool shirt for my husband at Northwest Man. Kathie, who I think is the manager, told me the shirt could be washed in cold water and hung to dry even though the label said "dry clean only". I did that and the shirt shrunk at least a size. When I returned it, Kathie refused to acknowledge what she told me, even though Tatiana, her employee, stated she overheard Kathie tell me that. Filson is a great company and I have bought clothing from them in the past. I will continue to buy from them, but will never shop at Northwest Man again. read more

I love this store and if I were a guy, I'd buy clothes here. Haha. My husband came in, much to my urging, and found a cute little hat here. But the clothes are very cool. If I could give this a minus 5 I would. While vacationing in Port Townsend a couple of weekends ago, we stopped in on a Friday (Oct. 23rd) to see what the store.............had in store. Gentleman who worked there NEVER said Hello, Goodbye, can I help you? Not a single word! My husband and I both walked past him twice.......once because I had to double check that he was wearing a Kilt ans some really weird boots!! Oh, and he was!! Anyways, my husband was going to buy two hoodies, but because of the crappy customer service.......oh sorry, lack of ANY customer service, we walked out. Would never recommend this store! read more

BEWARE - This is a cute store. Tons of great men's clothing and fun things. But beware their return policy and lousy customer service. I was visiting the area as I'm sure most customer are. I bought a birthday gift for my husband, a nice $60 shirt. My husband has worn the same size for 20 years. It did not fit him. I called to see if we could swap sizes thru the mail. They didn't have a bigger size. They would not refund my money because it was past 10 days (it was 13 days). I was told that I didn't know how boutiques worked, that was the policy and it was on my receipt. After closer inspection, it was in fact stamped on my receipt, UNDER the stapled register receipt. I told her I didn't see that and she said that it was also on a sign by the cash register. She did finally offer an in-store credit. I told her I wouldn't be back again for 3 months and she said to get the credit I would have to mail the shirt back to them at my expense. I have called 4 additional times to speak with a manager and he has not been available. This time I left my name and number for him to call me. I am still hopeful for a refund. It's been a week and no response from the owner/manager. I guess I'll give the shirt to my son. But they lost my future business. Too bad. We really liked their products. read more

Just wanted to let everybody know about my recent visit to The Northwest Man in Port Townsend. Much to my surprise they now have a true representation of their store logo. The new salesman there was very receptive from the time I entered the store. I noticed right away that the man was dressed with the same clothing the shop was selling. It was a new experience to see a live representation of the products and not a manaquine in the windows. It furthered my interest in what this store has to offer. I inquired about the items he was wearing where he then assisted me with sizing and colors. He was genuine when I asked about how I looked and was not pushing for a sale. I walked out with a similar Pendleton shirt and a very reasonably priced Dakota Grizzle Jacket. My feet, now comfortable and happy in my new Sorel boots, will help me on my new journey and a much anticipated return for a summer wardrobe. read more
