Really enjoy playing up here. Have done a tournament on the weekend and played in one of the…read moreweekday leagues. The place is really well looked after and the turf is amazing. They usually have a food truck available, there is a full bar with TVs and seating areas inside and out. They also have video cameras watching the fields and you can ask for a wristband that allows you to take 15 second clips so you can watch highlights after the game. Our friends who's kids also play at Uscore suggested the Plus program. It has been a perfect fit as the coaches are knowledgeable and experienced. My child is able to train and grow with like minded players who love the game. We can definitely see her skill level and game has only improved since she arrived. She now has joined the outdoor league (great competition), and has really benefited from doing the indoor small group training. I can't say that we don't love the Coaches as they are all equally amazing. I remember when we got to Uscore, Coach Ken was an instant favorite, then we met Coach Ray and Coach Lee (he's a fav too), and have you guys seen Coach Jimmy in action?! Wow, wow, wow so blown away with the fabulous team! Its super family oriented, all of the siblings of players, play together, parents are super nice. Can't say enough good things!!

We initially had tried another store in the area because it's closer to us but for us this store was worth the extra drive and provided a lot more value and better customer service. We'll be back.

Each team will need a "Volunteer Parent Coach." My husband was forced to be the Coach as no other parents stepped up. If you're a new Coach, guess what you get ALL the new players. Some kids have never played before. The games are so upsetting, as they are playing against "friendship" teams which are basically select teams. Unfair to the "new teams" as there is a slaughter at games. The refs don't care cause they can call games early if it is a blow out. Rather than improve my son's skills, it has made them feel depressed and not want to play the sport they once enjoyed. There is no fun in going to a game week after week just to lose with ZERO points on the board. And for those "friendship" teams, shame on you for competing and cheering victory over teams you know are on recreational level, not select. Zero stars!!!!

After watching Whip It, I was fascinated with Roller Derby. In the movie, the characters played…read moreroller derby on a banked/slanted track and there was a lot of hitting/checking into the walls. The versions of roller derby here in Houston, including the Northside Fury team, plays on a flat track. The rules are a bit different and you don't see the checking, but rest assured there is plenty of hitting. You will get to see elbows throw, booty bumping, and lots and lots of pushing. These guys are still relatively new so their home rink is not super packed. What does that mean for you? FRONT ROW seats. You better hurry because they are a good entertainment value. For $12 a person you can watch all the craziness happening in front of your eyes. You just need to bring your own lawnchair or you can just sit on the furniture that is there or on the floor. You can also bring in a cooler with some of your own beverages. It's fun for the whole family. I had a blast and will be back to see some more fast paced action!

My evening ROCKED as I watched the Northside Fury ROLL. It was a night to remember!…read more My new hero is an Irish player who goes by 'RED WAVES O'PAIN'. Her personality on the rink matched her name. And the big hits she delivered left me speechless.. WOAH. She spent some time in the penalty corner and out after some falls but her intensity and focus throughout the match remained high and in the zone. That night, Northside Fury was defeated by the Derby Dames but they sure went out in a blaze of glory! We saw big hits, high speed falls, and even a player get a minor concussion. It was INTENSE. I'm glad I wasn't out there! It was a blast though watching from the sidelines. My friends and I enjoyed our cooler full of ice cold craft beers. Yes.. that's right. The event was BYOB! The bout lasted over two hours so by the end of the game, we were all feeling good and in a dancin' kinda mood. And then the announcer said: Free open skate time! Half of us laced up roller skates. The other half opted for roller blades. I hadn't skated in 10 years so I went slow. Several toddlers skating with PVC tripod walkers lapped me on the rink. I eventually got the hang of it though and was able to skate at their speed. Difficulty skating afterward gave me an even stronger appreciation for Roller Derby girls and their sport. I am now a fan of Northside Fury!
