We played farm league for the first time this year as a 6u team playing 7u. My son had a wonderful time and great experience . The facilities are well maintained and The Farm League park has wonderful concessions. The umpires were fair, encouraging to the kids and did a good job. This league is a joke. They are incredibly disorganized. The uniforms are always given out at the last second and are always missing items. No new visors in over three seasons. No apology, just rudeness and excuses. Management is bad to deal with and non-responsive to complaints. They definitely have the attitude that once you've paid, you're stuck with whatever awful level of service they feel like giving you. read more

The league is all about the money. The marketing flyers are deceptive as you will be on a league and assigned a trained coach to improve skill set. NOT THE CASE. Each team will need a "Volunteer Parent Coach." My husband was forced to be the Coach as no other parents stepped up. If you're a new Coach, guess what you get ALL the new players. Some kids have never played before. The games are so upsetting, as they are playing against "friendship" teams which are basically select teams. Unfair to the "new teams" as there is a slaughter at games. The refs don't care cause they can call games early if it is a blow out. Rather than improve my son's skills, it has made them feel depressed and not want to play the sport they once enjoyed. There is no fun in going to a game week after week just to lose with ZERO points on the board. And for those "friendship" teams, shame on you for competing and cheering victory over teams you know are on recreational level, not select. Zero stars!!!! read more

If you have girls and you're looking for any leagues for them RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN from this league. We've played in their basketball leagues and softball leagues for a total of 5 seasons and they claim to care about the kids and good sportsmanship, but they really only care about making money for their boys' leagues. In their girls' basketball leagues, they don't care about the girls' safety. I coached for 3 seasons (two of which I was named Coach of the Year) and the officials never seem to know the rules, don't call fouls even when the girls are coming out of games with scratches and bruises, and the officials are EXTREMELY sensitive when asking about why fouls are not being called or have no interest in being there to begin with. I had a coach physically lunge at me during a game because he was out of control. I reached out to the league immediately regarding the incident and asked them to address it and follow up with me. Rob and Shelly NEVER acknowledged the issue or responded. I walked in and saw the same coach acting like a lunatic the next week. Yet during softball season, Rob threatened to throw me and my daughter out of two games because a parent lied about me yelling at kids. When asked how he looked in to the issue, he said he asked a parent on the other team, so when our coach asked him to discuss it with the officials Rob never took the time and wrote a nasty email back to the coach that "he did his job." So apparently his job is to call and threaten someone who has volunteered for multiple seasons and sports and never had any issue at all whatsoever - as well as threaten to throw a girl out. Rob and Shelley are a complete JOKE! For softball season, don't expect to actually have a field to practice on. The league takes no responsibility to find appropriate fields for the girls to practice. They leave it up to all of the coaches to find a place to practice. However, they just extended their park. They already had 4 baseball fields and ONLY added baseball fields. When we inquired why they didn't add any softball diamonds, we were told that the current setup was working fine and they weren't necessary. So ... moral of the story, if you just want your daughter's league fees only to help grow the boys' facilities and not have a single cent invested back in to the girls' leagues ... this is your league. read more

My experience with them has been with youth basketball. The rules seem to change from game to game (or ref to ref). One day they'll say you can play defense before halftime, next game you can play defense from another line on the court. When you bring it to their attention they get upset and act very defensive. If you ever need to reach out to Rob the guy that runs the league, he will either A. Not respond or B. be rude and unprofessional. I had been warned about his attitude towards some people before but got to experience it myself. During covid, we had zero updates on bball summer league cancellation or delayed start dates and he wouldn't respond to any emails even though we had already paid for a season. He waited til the very last minute to give an update and seemed so off put that people were reaching out for information. As if we were bothering him when we just wanted information about a service we paid for and if we would proceed due to the pandemic. Didn't think I was asking for too much. I had my son signed up in soccer at the same time with Uscore and the communication difference was night and day between these two owners. The owner Lee at uScore kept us posted with any updates and the communication line was always open. Rob may want to get a few pointers from him. Just go through the reviews on here or anywhere else and you will see many people have the same thing to say. I definitely recommend you not waste your money and your child's time with this league and go elsewhere. read more

So we decided to register with them instead of our local league and I am not impressed. After registering we canceled because they did not give us all the information necessary. This would be my sons first year so we did not know the right questions to ask apparently. All they do is get you in touch with the other parents and set up the games the rest is up to you. Maybe this is the norm but we would have liked to have been informed before making our decision. Now that we have cancelled the same week we registered their policy is to keep 50% and also charge a $25 processing fee. Please consider all your options before registering with them. read more

The league openly allows players to play below age group and although it's been brought up repeatedly, they still allow it and choose not to enforce birth certificates like every other league. Although I don't understand why parents would want their 11 year old playing against 6 and 7 year olds, it happens repeatedly. They have some severely under trained umps that don't even know basic rules sometimes. The people that run the league don't seem to care as they've apparently made comments to the tune that girls sports don't matter anyway so we shouldn't worry about it. read more

Great facility but it's a shame how poor its managed. Once they have your money, they don't care. The flag football refs and the basketball refs are usually horrible and most of them don't k is the basic rules of the game. I get it's hard finding refs that want to do this, but you have to at least hold your refs accountable for knowing the rules. There's other leagues in the area and I would recommend spending your money on those leagues! read more

Unorganized, it was like pulling teeth to try to get answers during registration. The team does not decide on practice times & location until after registration and if you are not able to accommodate their schedule its your loss and you will not receive your money back. If I could give you no stars I would. The guy who runs things, Rob, is manipulated by people who give him money for advertising. He lets them run things and dictate how the umps call games. My nephew's team won the championship in the 70' Kid Pitch league. 11-8. They won. The 70' Rangers coaches threw a fit and cited a bunch of nonsense that they were guilty of as well. The people in charge instead of recognizing both teams had grabbed players to FILL HOLES CREATED BY COVID they just punished us. Took the championship from the 70' Astros, who won, and gave it to the 70' Rangers. You run your league to satisfy whiny parents and childish coaches. No one should join this joke of a league. I never write reviews but feel there is something all parents need to know if you are thinking about signing your kids up for baseball with TFL. They have found a way to add select teams to the roster playing against regular teams. The select teams are made up of kids that are more talented and have more experience than the average kid their age. These teams have no business being on the same field as regular teams. I have watched kids on the regular teams fall to their knees being hit by the ball. There isn't enough time to react causing a very dangerous environment for the regular teams. Parents put their kids on select teams so they will play a higher level of baseball; same reason kids play recreational baseball to play others on the same skill level. My wife and many other parents have emailed Rob Patterson, it has been a nightmare trying to get answers from him on why these two completely different levels of talent are playing against each other. read more

My son played and I coached flag football in the Farm League for five seasons, and if I could give zero stars, that would be a more appropriate rating. Over the course of those five seasons, we saw the Farm League deteriorate into the absolute worst youth sports organization imaginable. The Farm League is literally the worst youth sports organization and environment that I have EVER seen. I will start by saying the facilities are nice and well maintained. And our first couple of seasons in the league were ok. Then it got progressively worse up to the point were our last season was a complete nightmare for our son and my family on the sideline who were always caught in the middle of all the chaos and ignorant and ugly behavior. Starting at the top, there is a complete and obvious unwillingness to address any problems, a complete disregard for player safety, and a lot of attitude and disrespect and even threatening language in publications when addressing coaches and parents. I have personally received phone calls and numerous emails that are loaded with threats and just general craziness. It is very clear to me now, that all they care about is their bottom line. There is also blatant corruption and cheating going on between the refs and the top. If a coach coaches multiple teams, or coaches multiple sports, they are a preferred coach and are going to receive favorable calls from refs that are backed by the league. The refs in this league often don't seem to even know their own rule book and some are also incredibly disrespectful to the coaches and even the players. It has gotten so bad, that depending on who you play, there is no more fairness in competition and the outcomes of some match-ups are completely predictable. There is a general racist undertone that exists in this league and it is very prevalent on the sidelines among some of the parents and families. I have seen and experienced parents and coaches making racial slurs and generalized stereotypical comments to other parents and players, in front of the kids, and the near physical confrontations that have almost ensued. I have never seen such poor behavior from coaches and parents at a youth sports league in my entire life, and hopefully never will. It is like something straight out of a movie. There is also a fair amount of alcohol consumption that goes on during games, which I think contributes to a lot of the hate and bad behavior. Some of the coaches that are coaching main stays in the Farm League flag football program are the absolute worst that I have ever seen. There are people coaching in this league who are completely obnoxious and out of control, and who are in it for the wrong reasons. I have seen and experienced coaches trash talking other coaches and players, yelling at each other and cussing in front of the kids and coaches and parents almost fighting. I know there have been numerous complaints, yet the league will not address the issue. You would not want your son playing on a team with close to half of these coaches. My review mostly speaks in generalities, but I could write literally pages of text if I were to copy and paste emails and tell my personal stories of the absolute craziness that I experienced as both a parent and a coach of this league. All of the chaos really created a stressful environment for our son, and his last season was not at all fun for him. By the end of the season, he was no longer looking forward to his games and didn't even want to play anymore, because the environment there is so bad. When the season ended, my wife and I decided it was time to take a step back and re-access our affiliation with the Farm League, because we dont feel like we are getting out of this whole thing what we hope to, anymore. And for us, him having fun and continuing to improve as a player is our only objective. As parents, isn't that what we are all hoping for in a youth sports program; our child having fun, learning the game and being able to do it all in a positive environment? There are other flag football leagues in the north Houston area - find one. We did, and we will never go back to the Farm League. Trust me, you do NOT want to be involved with this league. read more

Our first baseball season , was truly A positive experience ! Rob the owner totally Hands on, and always there with answers and guidance. Coaches are super positive and productive, especially Coach Cudd. With the way the teams set up, your child gets to know fellow school mates and other friends. Very reasonably priced . And we are excited to attend the Academy this fall. I can't say enough about the self esteem my son has gained with this program! read more

The grounds and facilities are nice. However, a handful of the refs are horrible. There are some, relatively young, that are extremely disrespectful. They yell at coaches and individuals on the sideline. They also appear to favor certain teams. It would be a much better experience if the football refs were better trained.
