So my daughter was at this daycare in the MDO program from August 15th, 2022- April 6th, 2023. My daughter has a speech delay and I informed them of this. I also asked if they could work with a child that possibly may be special needs. From the first week she was there, we were told she won't nap and we had to pick her up at 12:30pm, instead of 1pm. They never attempted to try to put her to sleep after that first week. They don't offer hot lunch made at the school and the lunch they offer is so unhealthy, as it was Popeyes, pizza zone, jack in the box, and Lenny's Subs. I also had to ask the teacher about my daughter's behavior and progress after being there for almost 4 months. Not one person thought it was necessary to inform me or my husband that our daughter wasn't playing with the other kids and isolating herself at times? I just feel as though they had no patience and possibly not enough staff. When I told them I was moving my daughter, I felt as though the Director, Amanda did not care or maybe felt relieved because my daughter isn't "normal". My daughter is at a new daycare full time and has shown drastic improvement and changes in her behaviors including participating in circle time, increased fine mother skills, emotional self-regulation, and increases receptive language skills. read more

I would be not recommend School in the Pines if you have a special needs child. My son attended for about 2 years while in elementary school and experienced bullying. Because he is on the autism spectrum he never complained. I learned of the issues from another child while I was visiting the local middle school for a science presentation. The middle schooler asked me if I removed him from SIP because he was being bullied. He admitted there had been issues, which he did not tell me about and the school did nothing. I called the school to inquiry but no one ever returned my calls. I didn't know if they are untrained or unwilling to deal with kids on the spectrum but I think it is fair to share my experience as one piece of data for others considering this school. read more

Two years ago, I was new to the Spring area and toured 6 different schools, all horrible for one reason or another, before finding School in the Pines. And although our commute to the school is a little longer than we planned for, we don't mind the drive knowing that our kids are in good hands. Our 4 year old has been there 2 years now and my 8 year old attends breaks and summers. They both absolutely love the school! My 8 year old claims 'it's his favorite school ever'. We have been taking our boys here for nearly a year and have been extremely happy thus far. Having been through a variety of corporate chain daycare centers over the years we made the decision to move them to "SitP" for 2 reasons: 1) convenience/location - finally a daycare center that's not near a main road or next door to a gas station/tire shop and 2) smaller, more attentive classrooms. My youngest comes home singing, telling us about his day, showing his creations and quite honestly has blossomed socially. He is point-blank a happy child when before at his previous commercially-owned daycare he would cry the minute I got there and made me feel so guilty. My older one would tell me horror stories of our previous center and I was always left to speak with the director and/or teachers. Not to mention the turnover was ridiculous. Amanda and Joe are the most attentive owners. They greet every child & parent, make time for your questions, communicate the on-goings within their center as well as the community and above all else, care about the children. I strongly recommend School in the Pines ("SitP") to any parent/guardian looking for a daycare center in the area. My only regret is not getting my boys in sooner...but as the saying goes, "better late than never." read more

We enrolled our daughter at the School in the Pines as recommended by my sister-in-law who is an assistant principal. She had received great feedbacks from parents and other teachers about how pleased they are for sending their children to this school. We have searched and visited different schools for our daughter and found that this school has a great curriculum incorporating the best practices of known schools like Montessori. This school has also adopted the Texas schools curriculum which is a bonus. Our 2-year old comes home with crafts and can actually tell a story about her work. The school is also organized and gives us updates on what transpired during the day in a report that the teacher sends at the end of the day. The school is clean and provides a great learning environment for the kids. The teachers are well-trained and go through a screening process before accepted at the school. We also find it convenient that the school provides lunch for the kids ( of course with a fee) in that way we don't have to worry about preparing lunch. Overall, we are satisfied and grateful we found the School in the Pines for our daughter and we highly recommend this facility to parents who want their children to have a great learning experience. read more

Wonderful personalized care for all the children at School in the Pines. I love that the ratio is typically 1 teacher for 8 children, compared to the average childcare facility and state requirement of 1 teacher to 17 preschoolers. This allows for greater attention and learning. I have three sons that have been enrolled at School in the Pines. Previously we had a nanny and used chain day care. School in the Pines is great. I love that every day my boys are greeted by all the employees by their names (which started the first week that they were at there). All the staff are engaged and professional. The kids are offered multiple extracurricular activities, such as soccer shots, ballet, and karate. I really appreciate that the curriculum was established by a retired elementary school assistant principal and uses national standards for learning. The location is directly across from the elementary school, so it's extremely convenient and allows for the children to participate in after school activities, since they will pick up the kids after their activity. The staff are outgoing, kind and feel like family. The owners are a husband and wife team who are quick to respond to emails and will also personally call you if there are any problems, like a hurt or sick child. My son in the preschool program has learned a tremendous amount. Prior to having my children attend, I was concerned that the location was small. However, during the summer the children go on multiple field trips, have special guest and utilizes the neighbor pool which is next door. My husband and I are very pleased with School in the Pines. Go visit and talk to Amanda and Joe. You will be certainly glad that you did. Outstanding staff and school! We've had both our girls attend School In the Pines for several years. One is currently in the pre-k class with Ms. Debra and we could not ask for a better teacher. She comes home telling us the different phases of the moon to how she learned about shadows to showing us how she can write all her letters. I can tell that already our pre-k child will be more than ready for kindergarten educationally and socially. Every teacher that she has interacted with there has helped her prepare for school-Ms. Annette, Ms. Christy, Ms. Katie and she cannot stop talking about them at home. This speaks volumes to how much she loves it there. The entire school staff is super friendly and attentive to your needs as a parent. I love that there is extra programming such as dance and soccer that come to the school. It helps as a working parent to have those opportunities provided. The summer program has also been outstanding. My older child loved going last summer to School In the Pines with all the field trips, swimming at the pool and fun educational activities. My younger one had a great time as well with all the fun summer themes and playing with her friends. School in the Pines is family owned and I truly feel like my children are part of their family when they go there.
