I think the second biggest conspiracy in the world next to the hot dog buns/hot dogs issue is bathroom lighting. There are 7 bajillion light options but try matching your vanity lights to your overhead and you can actually go quite mad. I got over the fact that my vanity lights weren't going to match my overhead light. However the trade off was finding a unique brushed nickel 3 lamp vanity light i liked that complimented the oval sink option I went with. It was even on sale AND there was an additional 30 percent off. Janet even went to the back to find a new one in the box AND had the guys check it to make sure it had all the mounting pieces. With the additional 30% off, I was able to also get the bulbs AND stay under budget! Woot woot. Oh BTW- there is a fox lights on Lawrence. They used to be affiliated but Janet said that the one in the city was more focused on commercial sales whereas Glenview was more focused on residential sales.

I'm really happy to have worked with Fusion Home…read more I recently purchased a new home and was looking to purchase a pantry that matched by existing cabinets. I was easily able to communicate with Marianna via email. She answered all of my questions, matched the cabinet perfectly, & even held the cabinet for a week and a half longer than planned when I was sick. I'm looking forward to working with them as I take on my projects in my new home!

There was 2 female employees right in front, but it was as if they purposely avoided making any eye contact. Not a single hello, even as we walked through the entire place and passed another female employee on the sales floor. Too bad... we were interested in a few items, but I'm a big advocate for providing incredible service and I did not want to make any purchases in a place that didn't make any friendly efforts. No surprise even upon walking out we didn't get a goodbye or even a stare because I watching to see if they were going to say anything to us and nothing.

We give Littmen's a big thumbs up!…read more After purchasing our home last year, it was time to update all the outdated lighting.  I thought it would be an easy process to just order online. Nope!  The more I looked the harder it became because I wasn't sure of fixture sizes to buy for our spaces. Our electrician suggested we go to Littmen Bros. Interiors. What a great suggestion!! From the moment we walked in the door we were so excited to see all the beautiful fixtures in person. We met and worked with Lisa who is outstanding. We showed Lisa pictures of all our existing fixtures  and provided room measurements to give her an idea  of the scale.   She said this will be fun! She gave us ideas on sizes to consider. Everything I liked initially was way to small.  Lisa was fantastic making sure we ordered the perfect size for each space. We purchased 5 fixtures: A foyer 12 drop amazing fixture, 2 lights for the cat walk which are gorgeous and look fantastic with the foyer lighting, a beautiful hand made crystal candelabra chandelier for the dinning room and a large two tone  round fixture for the laundry room. We couldn't be happier with our purchase! We are so grateful we found Lisa because she made the process fun and easy.  Our house looks fabulous!! We highly recommend Lisa and Littmen Bros. Interiors.

One of the ladies (sorry I didn't get her name!) was extremely helpful helping me pick out a light for our tiny condo kitchen reno; I explained what I wanted and after looking at their wall displays she offered to get me a binder of other options they'd be happy to order for me. I wound up selecting something they had on display, and she was kind enough to ask one of the guys to take down the display model for me since I didn't want to wait for one to be shipped. This is a great time of year for renovations, since they had a sale going--I was given 25% of the cost of my lighting figure!

But what wasn't told to us is that it only works with a few dimmers. And when I asked why it was flickering, I was told that the commercial grade, quality dimmer my electrican used was not compatible. But they have one for $39 plus. Yeah not happening. Should have been advised up front of its special requirements. So it cost me more.

This Menards is relatively close to me and it's handy.  However I don't really come here very often…read moreand it seems it's mainly when I need light bulbs or furnace air filters and such.  It's a large, bright, and clean location, and is seldom crowded as I almost never come on the weekends.  The interior was renovated maybe 5 years ago and it is bright and attractive throughout.  Their prices are competitive for most hardware and utility items.  They also have a packaged goods grocery section, and one item I have found that is a great value here is coffee filters, and they are much cheaper here than anywhere else for whatever reason.  Some other items I used to buy here regularly years ago were bird feed and garden flowers, but we have since gone to other suppliers for such. I once also got a quote from them for a big kitchen cabinet replacement project.  The staffer was helpful, but in the end, they weren't competitive with just going directly to a cabinet supplier for any particular cabinet quality.  Their approach was one of being a middleman, and they had no real control of the project timing as it was up to the cabinet supplier anyway.  But Menards was helpful for the project research anyway, and they could possibly be right for you depending on your project execution style. Menards also has frequent 11% off promos.  Sometimes it involves whatever you can fill in a paper shopping bag, but more often it is in the form of an old-fashioned mail-in rebate which is annoying and antiquated these days.  Overall though, it's a big plus to have this Menards around us.
