However, since his absence, the place has gone down hill and the staff ruder and more inflexible than ever. My 11 yr old black lab retriever was extremely sick and we weren't sure she'd make it through the night. Called Dumont in the morning, and they had no interest in trying to accommodate despite years as a customer, even as an emergency. Called VCA Closter Animal Hospital as a back up and they were INCREDIBLE. Polite, friendly, concerned staff. Didn't mind reaching out to Dumont for records. Saw us within 2 hours. Dr Michael Maida is an astonishingly good vet, knowledgeable caring and not pushy. Gave us our options and his recommendation to do less rather than more. Thankfully all turned out great and the bill was not terrible for an emergency visit. For some reason I had decided not to use them years ago and wish I'd thought it through. They're local, affordable, caring, funny, great and I'll never go anywhere else. We thank you for great service, great text follow up and beautiful client service. Our family dog is on the mend. I thought that's why I was there today? They charged me $421.77 and told me to come back in 2 weeks again. At this point I feel I've been scammed by this place and of course I'm not going back. Already made another appointment elsewhere.

Needed to visit a new doctor for my pup (well, she's no longer a pup but will always be in my eyes)…read morebecause my previous doc (Suffern Animal Hospital) kept ignoring a very clearly infected area on my dog. The facility is very nice and clean. Welcoming, for sure. The front desk ladies were nice. The doctor and his assistant were fantastic with handling my dog (she's quite anxious as well). For the first time, I didn't see her put up a fight! This visit was much cheaper than my previous doctor visits at her old doctor. Not only that but the doc explained everything as he was examining her. I was happy when he gave me things to help treat Venus' infection instead of just saying it's "normal" and nothing to worry about. I'm glad I trusted my gut. Can't wait to visit again in a few weeks!

When the end came, I was shocked to see an estimate of over $800. I have had many pets over the years and knew this was off. I subsequently brought my dog to Banfield in Nanuet. They were wonderful and treated both me and my dog with care and tenderness. They charged only $367. (less than half) The services being received were identical Euthanasia and simple cremation. I am not sure how 2 vets in the same county can come up with such widely different prices. (basically, one town over) My suspicion is that my (former) regular vet knows that we are weak in these moments and are ripe for paying an exorbitant charge without arguing. I would never go back there again.

Also what a B S from this place not letting the owner in with the dog. Covid it's over!!! Why can I go in with my dog when she is being treated? Dr Howel was the best and I am sorry he's not there anymore. From 1 to 10 I'm giving this place a ZERO

All based off low normal blood results. "Low normal" And that was the cause for regurgitation of my french bulldog. Fast forward my dog has classic Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) and has blockage so much so, his oxygen levels are 98%. So in addition to $1600 bill to receive 3 thyroid disorders as diagnoses , not anatomical! Now we have surgery with a new vet. To hopefully let him eat and breathe without struggling Be careful, these are pets that we love. I wouldn't utilize this Veternarian. Dr. also has an ego Complex and forgot it's not about her or me, the dog is what matters. Run Just a paying customer!

The team is incredibly warm, attentive, and truly passionate about dogs. They don't just watch your dog... they get to know them, love them, and treat them like family. Kim and her Team are rockstars. My pup used to be anxious and reserved around new people and dogs, but since coming to Doggie Shrink, I've seen a complete transformation. He's more confident, better socialized, and genuinely excited every time we pull up to the building...tail wagging, ready to play! The facility is spotless, safe, and thoughtfully designed for enrichment, fun, and relaxation. Whether it's playgroups, one-on-one attention, or quiet time when needed, they tailor the experience to each dog's personality and needs. I also love the regular updates, photos, and honest communication ...it gives me such peace of mind knowing my dog is in the best hands. Doggie Shrink isn't just a daycare/training... it's a second home for your pup. If you're looking for a place where your dog will be loved, nurtured, and genuinely understood, this is it. In short, the grooming was really bad. An ugly trim I didn't ask for which took part of her front leg 'feathers' off, the pretty feathers around her ears, and her Aussie "pants" were just a mis-matched mess of things. Kristen worked her magic and while I hated the fact that Skylar had to be trimmed shorter so she will grow in evenly, she looks so so so much better! As a groomer, you should know where to stop. I know accidents can happen, but to BOTH DOGS!? My dog doesn't even want me to touch her paw. She cut meat from the nail! Even though I discussed with her to cut and grind the rest. The worst part was her response!!! She claim it was only a little, that there was no blood on the towel... of course there wasn't blood on the towel they weren't walking on there paws, so there was no pressure. She put a powder on her paw, & said "she'll be okay, this is why they make the powder for". No pet owner wants to hear that! My dog is in pain and is extremely upset at this place. The rest of the hair looks sloppy. The way it was cut looks like she regular scissors. I'm sorry but I don't recommend Kristen EVER!
