I requested that my ex take an alcohol etg test (court ordered). The woman who always answers phones is extremely unprofessional and sounds like she's on drugs herself. He took the test 05/03/2022. I called multiple times throughout the past two weeks and always got a run around. First, the new testing site they send everything out to was the issues. Then, an employee being out on maternity leave was blamed. I called a final time this morning and was told they still didn't have the test back. I was originally promised a 72 hour turnaround max! ***NEW UPDATE - I just found out from CLIA that they don't even operate under an active or valid business license. (Which also explains why they have zero affiliation or accreditation with the BBB). Their old business license dissolved in 2005 due to FRAUD AND NEGLIGENCE and they lost all County and city testing contracts due to it. All information can be found and verified under CA Secretary of State business license lookup under Corporations*** Worst place I have ever tested in my life. The woman at the front desk (Nancy) was very rude and unprofessional. I came in and tested and here is what happened with my test. 1. I was never asked to wash my hands or empty my pockets prior to walking in to the bathroom. 2. Nancy never washed her hands prior to tampering with the UA specimen. 3. Nancy never wore gloves during mine, my wife's, or the other four people I saw test while there. 4. Immediately after walking out of the bathroom she took the cup (not wearing gloves) and began to swirl it around, hold it under a lamp, and sniff it. The temperature was 96.4 but apparently "that told her the test was fake pee and I needed to take an additional test". 5. I stayed inside the building in plain site for an additional 45 minutes while drinking water do provide a second sample. I'm between my first and second sample she did 4 UA's with other people, shook hands with all of them, never wore gloves, and never washed her hands. (It's a small facility and you can hear sinks Run). 6. I provided a second sample (94.6 degrees this time) and she again, with no gloves began to tamper with it, smell it, and told me it was fake pee. I told her I have no idea how that could be possible, that I stayed right in front of her and both times she kept the bathroom door open. I told her to run it through the machine and prove it was fake and I didn't know what else I could tell her. She then looked at my wife and had the nerve to ask "are you sure he's clean and never used?" That's unacceptable behavior and demeaning. 7. She never sealed either one of my samples. 8. She never had me sign any paperwork for either sample. (I called after leaving and told her I realized she never had me sign and she said "it's ok, I know it was yours so I'm not worried about it) 9. She threw out the first sample without telling me and only tested the second. 10. She then proceeded to provide a test result showing positive for amphetamines and the levels were barely above the cut off levels. 11. I called and left a VM with her explaining what all went wrong and how my attorney said extreme protocols were violated and it needs to be thrown out. She proceeded to not return my call and will not own up to her mistakes so we are now going to court. Recently, I found out from my new third party testing company that they have a reputation for this, she recently learned of numerous similar experiences from other clients who went there and a formal complaint has been filed. I highly advise anyone against going to this facility, especially if your career or children are depending on the results. I rarely give bad reviews to companies but this is not just bad food. This affects lives and I want to save other people the time and grief I have experienced. read more

In all the years that I have lived in Redding, calif. and worked here I have never heard a bad thing about North State Drug Testing Lab. I worked for a criminal defense lawyer here in town and we sent all of our clients there. They were extremenly professional with all concerns to what we needed. They were always there when we needed them and we could call at any time and they would accomodate us. This place has single handley destroyed my life and all my hard work in one fail swoop. Not only did they follow procedure on handling but provided a test with false positive on amphetamine just above the cut off . On the paper it self they typed positive for methampehadine confirmed but they didn't test for methampehadine it test for amphetamine which are two different things but that's besides the point . I have made my mistakes but I refuse to let this place take my sobriety from me like they have now visits with my son. I'm not sure why I deserve this and why they would play god like that with people's lives but something has to happen. These people need to be shut down. Did not follow DOT regulations and sent over false results. Was not asked to wash hands or empty pockets as part of DOT regulations. Had to call to have them correct my results they sent. Potentially could have cost me my career. Nice people but unprofessional. read more

I wouldn't even give this lab a one star rating. Nancee, the owner/ clinician was somewhat friendly but VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Not only did she not follow proper guidelines, but she was unhappy with the temperature of my specimen and said that she thought I was hiding something and trying to trick her. She then went and scooped my urine from the toilet water and then processed it in her own in-house laboratory...Then provided me with FALSE RESULTS. I would NOT recommend North State Drug Testing to anyone needs drug testing. read more
