I've been going to this place for close to 10 years. I've never been blown away with their service but it always got the job done. My last experience not only drove me to never ever go there again, but also write this review so hopefully other people don't either.
I had a car that had been sitting in my garage for about 6 months during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was well past inspection and I knew there was a potential for problems so I brought it to them. I'll go through the events that drove me to this review chronologically though the most horrible thing doesn't happen until the end.
First, I called them to try and sneak me in on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. They couldn't, which was fine, so I got an early Tuesday morning appointment but I asked them if I could drop it Monday with the key drop. They told me this was totally fine. I show up on Monday and the entire driveway is roped off and sealed. I was able to drive in over the grass and park just off the driveway and get it dropped off but it wasn't easy. Then Tuesday rolls around and my supposed appointment was for 9:30 but I didn't hear anything so I called about 11.
The guy who answers the phone went on to scold me saying that they weren't working yesterday so they didn't get to look at it until this morning. I said, "I know, that was the plan, you made me an appointment for Tuesday morning and I dropped it off the day before." He didn't reply but then told me I failed inspection (so they had gotten a chance to look at it). This part upset me, but didn't upset me with them. I knew two of my tires were close and I was honestly stressed about my brakes too. I told them to do the work. I then ended the call asking specifically for them to call me as soon as it was done.
4:45 rolls around and I never heard anything so I give them a call. The same guy goes on to tell me about how it was all set, acting like it had been for a while, and then went on to have a bit of a scolding tone with me again, telling me I needed to get there by 5 if I wanted it because they were closing.
Whatever, I packed the family up and rushed over. This made me start to realize that I don't think they've ever proactively called me for anything. I think I always have to call and pester them. Nice service huh?
So I pull in there with my family at 4:55 and go in to get the car. He's nice enough but is NOT wearing any sort of mask in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic and seems fine with it. I stand at a distance but pay and move on.
So here we go. I take my key out to my car and open up the door. As I do this, the inside plastic door handle just falls to the pavement. I didn't even touch it. It's ABUNDANTLY clear that someone in the shop broke it off and rather than owning up to it, carefully set it in place hoping I didn't notice?!
So I carried the broken handle into the shop again and raised it up and said, "Are you guys kidding me with this?!" Note that while I was upset, there are no swear words or anything. The guy behind the counter then gets very rattled, starts yelling at me that i'm being too confrontational and scolding me again. I kind of laugh it off and explain how upset I am. He comes out, takes some pictures, continues to scold me for being rude to him (I haven't escalated at all since my initial comment), but then tells me he will get the part and call me "tomorrow". That was 4 days ago as of me writing this and I have not heard anything. I'm going to be finding the part and fixing it myself.
The thing with the door handle is, my car is 12 years old. I know plastic gets brittle. If they were just honest with me I would have been understanding. I probably wouldn't have even made them fix it knowing I could probably find the part online.
So here's the final kicker. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. A different car, about five years ago, was brought in for some work and when I went to pick it up I turned the key and... nothing. The starter was toast. I then paid to have them fix that too and really hoped that it was the freak coincidence they claimed it was, but now I'm not so sure.
Don't go there. Just please don't. They don't deserve any business anymore. I'm not even going to use the gas station they also own. read more
