I left my Mini Schnauzer at Northside Pet Resort for a week while I attended a retreat at Bribie Island. She was healthy and as expected I supplied details of The Animal Hospital at Burpengary in case they were needed. I was in phone range at all times. When I picked her up I was told her eyes were a bit mucky and we wiped them. To my horror I looked at her eyes and her left eye was white and she looked as if she was blind in that eye. Both eyes looked infected. I am a herbalist and happily for me I had some eye drops that contained Goldenseal which is a natural antibiotic and colloidal silver. I put drops in both her eyes, phoned the Vet Surgery at Mundubbera after trying unsuccessfully to see a vet in Burpengary.I got some dry eye drops from the Chemist and bathed her eyes with warm water several times on the way home. When I saw the Vet on Wednesday she told me that my little dog had an extremely severe injury to her eye and that she may lose her eye.I sent an email to the kennels and they didn't even bother to reply.
I would have hoped that SOMEONE would have noticed that the poor little dog was in pain and injured. It was extremely obvious. I am hoping that she will not lose her eye and I will NEVER be game to ever leave her at a kennel again. She will no matter what happens have a permanent injury to her eye. This has been an extremely expensive exercise and terribly stressful. I live by myself and she is very important to me.She is the only family that I have.It is terrible to think that she was hurt and suffering and no one did anything. read more
