ATTN: Construction WITHOUT Quality - RUN the Other Way Do…read morenot hire Williams and Sons -- especially Marc Williams, Marc Jr., Marcel, David Williams or Cindi. This was hands-down the worst experience we've ever had with a contractor. They clearly had no idea what they were doing. They didn't know how to pour a footer, left out rebar, skipped grout in the block cavities, and even cut bricks just to hide rebar they placed in the wrong spot -- which meant the bricks didn't fit properly. The result? A crooked, unstable mess with grout smeared all over the face of the wall like a bad joke. They dragged the job out forever, ignored concerns, and ghosted us when it was clear they messed up. We had to go to the Registrar of Contractors, and even after that, they refused to fix major problems. We gave them a final shot out of good faith -- and it was more corner-cutting, lies, and negligence and abandonment- the lies they even told the judge were unbelievable from people who claim to be professional- but they didn't get away with it- they have multiple complaints against them now, I wouldn't be surprised if they loose their license- make sure to check first! This crew is dangerous, unskilled, and dishonest. Avoid them at all costs. Protect yourself: check contractor licenses, look up complaints, and contact the ROC if you're already stuck dealing with them -- they were the only ones who helped.

Anthony Saponara, the owner of ASAP Renovation, LLC (installation subcontractor), missed the…read moreoriginal appointment time and didn't call. When he did finally come, I advised him then that the reason I had asked for an install quote was because I had completely screwed up the leveling. He told me his installer would grind down the high spots and use additional concrete leveler to bring up the low spots. When I received the initial estimate, there was nothing to indicate the floor needed additional prep. I called LL Flooring who called ASAP Renovation. I received an updated contract/estimate that included the grinding and floor leveler. I was only having hardwood installed in one room, so ASAP Renovation worked to schedule an installer between other larger jobs. The installer, Panta, showed up as scheduled but seemed surprised the floor needing leveling "was supposed to be smooth like a pool table". He didn't have concrete leveler or plastic sheeting to block off the room (for grinding the existing floor). He asked me condescendingly if I had been "playing like a child" with the leveler I had tried to use. Despite me asking him twice about using extra leveler (it was in the contract), he chose not to get (or use) leveler. Instead, he used extra pieces of underlayment in the low spots. During the install, I noted a piece of badly blemished hardwood that was about 2-3 rows in from the row he was installing. I asked him to replace that piece and he angrily replied that it would "cost extra" for him to go back and replace that piece. At around 2 pm (Friday), Panta was done for the day but didn't know when he would be back on Monday to finish the job because the store wouldn't open until 9am. Apparently the glue that LL Flooring sold me wasn't the glue that Panta uses during installs and he wouldn't be able to finish the project without his regular glue. When he came back on Monday, he had brought his own 5 gallon bucket glue and expected me to pay him $35-$40 to use it. There were still tubes of unused glue that LL Flooring had sold me so he used those instead. He used a technique I have not seen before nor would I have ever imagined. He loaded the tube into the caulking gun then cut a large window at the base of the tube and dipped his putty knife in through the window to get the glue on it so he could spread it. Once he was done installing the floor, I asked him about all the glue spots/stains on the floor (about 1 every sq.ft.). He told me that they could be removed with a mixture of vinegar and water. I spent about 30-45 minutes rubbing the floor with vinegar and water after he left but the spots persisted. I tried calling ASAP Renovation but it was after 3 pm (so no one in the office) and the voicemail was full/not set up. I found Mr. Saponara's email address and reached out to him. I explained there were still glue stains after the install and asked if he had any other ideas because the vinegar and water weren't working. He emailed back within an hour to tell me he had glue remover at the shop and he would have one of his guys drop some off. I replied that my wife and I found Panta to be rude and condescending as well as unprepared. Mr. Saponara emailed back defending Panta but not asking for any additional information. I haven't heard back from Mr. Saponara since that email (about two weeks ago). One of his other installers (we asked that Panta not come back) came by 2 days later and spent about an hour using the remover to try to clean the floor. My wife was impressed by his motivation and he appeared to be surprised by the number of stains. Despite his best efforts, the stains are still there and only come out with aggressive rubbing. There are still several low spots in the floor that can be seen when looking at the baseboards or that are noticeable when you step on the floor and it sinks. I *will not* use ASAP Renovation again.

Disclaimer: I did not hire them to assemble my storage shed, so this review is based on their quote…read moreand not from in-person interaction. He quoted me $1000 to put it together. (!) This is a 4' X 8' simple shed, vinyl, and I have the pavers and the plywood for the foundation. The manufacturer estimates a 2 to 4 hour job. So $1000 would be a $500-$250 an hour charge! Hoo wee! I spent $900 on all the materials. Others quoted $250-$400 to do the job. Sorry, I can't recommend their handyman services. So take this review as if I went to a store, found that they were charging $16 for a gallon of milk. I didn't buy the milk, but I certainly cannot recommend buying that store's milk. And if you would read the owner's comments to the 1 and 2 star reviews including this one, the tone of his voice is telling. When a business receives a bad rating or review or a customer complaint, it is a great opportunity to make good and create immense good will, not only with the customer in question, but for anyone reading the review and how it was handled. More business owners would do well to learn this lesson. ***UPDATE So the owner then sends me a personal message to further berate me. This is unprofessional and childish behavior. I hardly write any 1 star reviews, but when a business owner is unprofessional, immature, and way overpriced, it leaves me no choice. Be cautious about hiring him. Do your homework and get other quotes. ***UPDATE (AGAIN) He changed his reply to this review from the negative one he originally posted. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

After several attempts to acquire details that would require $800 rather than$400, we haggled back and forth by text message, with him dodging my questions with pledges to "get back to you tomorrow", or some such. I had ready prepaid the $400 he demanded thru PayPal when our dialog ended, with his pledge to refund (most) of that $400 prepayment. That was the last word from him, and that was three weeks ago! Let this be a warning to NOT prepay for a project that doesn't at most pay for some of the materials and perhaps travel. Don't get taken to the cleaners as I had.
