Large fireplace in center of the room, which is on the lower floor of the lodge, beneath the office and I believe owners living space. They advertise cabins built in the 20's. Tasty Bloody Mary and I had an angry minnow Belgian blonde brew. Nice. No beer chaser on the BM. Huh? This is Wisconsin! New Glarus Spotted Cow on draft. Nice people, the owners, friendly. Walked around a bit, they have a blocked off safe swim area for the tots. Nicely appointed fish cleaning house on the shore. Decent docking along the lodge with a newer, bumpered pier. They specialize in 16 in thin crust pizza, on Fri, Sat & Mon.

If you haven't yet experienced a memorable stay at this tranquil resort, a fun-loving treat awaits you! The owners, Chris and Tammy (and their two children) are such wonderful individuals! They go above and beyond to ensure the cabins are exceptionally clean and nicely maintained. Their "behind the scene" efforts are very noticeable and greatly appreciated, and always make for a most enjoyable visit. We've already reserved four cabins for next June and are counting down the days to our return. Chris and Tammy's Virgin Timber Resort has our 5-star recommendation for a most enjoyable and relaxing vacation destination!

There are 2 small but nice cabins here, there is a bit of a slope down to the pier. The pier was a floating design with a gangplank to get on. I really prefer a solid pier over floating. They are too shaky, in my opinion. No Weber grill, instead one of those odd campground grills, so you are limited in grilling. Pots and pans were good, but plates, bowls and silverware need upgrade. Bowls and plates were plastic, which can't be cleaned adequately and shouldn't be used in the microwave. Good sharp knives. The cabins are on the back end of a weed choked and pretty shallow bay. It's a slow in an out with your motor trimmed way up high. It is very close to the CC north launch, which is a good one. Nice deep ramp. 15-20 minutes from Hayward. We saw a number of deer each night around the cabin.
