Good selections with prices that fit. However. I found the staff to be less then friendly and one little guy was down right repugnant. Drove from Waterbury up to Enfield hoping to buy a couple of Christmas gifts. Did not want their negative energy, and won't return. Stopped in for the first time looking for a couple uncommon items as well as a few pretty common items. Not only did they have what I needed but there was a selection to choose from. There was budget friendly items and higher priced items. The store was organized and everything had its spot. I had no issues with the customer service. Both people I talked to were helpful and knowledgeable. I'm not sure what the past negative reviews are about but I'm definitely a new regular customer. read more

Never again. Went in to buy an attachment, was unsure about the size. Guy sold me a piece and told me if any problems, bring it right back. It was the wrong size, so I brought it back within 15 minutes. He told me he couldn't refund the money (after trying to upsell me to replace the entire unit). I walked out immediately, leaving the purchased piece. I will never go back there again. Not to mention - the guy was an arrogant jerk. I swing by here once a month or so to stock up on incense. They've got quite a variety of hand-dipped incense that you can mix and match. If that's not your thing, then you can just grab a box of Nag Champa, or the other various brands they carry. They also carry a variety of smoking accessories, and other odds and ends. I went to Northern Lights this week looking to replace a small glass pipe I broke. I didn't want to spend much money. I had somewhere around $10-$15 budget for something real small. After looking around I asked the clerk and she informed me they had nothing small and cheep for less than $26. The people were ok. They were ready to answer my questions when I was ready. The problem I experienced was that everything I saw just looked like generic pipes and were really expensive. First time visit, last time visiting. read more

Been a long time customer dating back a decade.Have made several large purchases without a single bump along the way. Recently went in to replace a broken male stem bowl.Never can seem to remember the sizing so I always bring the fractured piece w me for easy replacement.Always soak & scrub beforehand & have never had a problem going on 5-6 times running. I told the patron behind the counter what I was looking to replace & showed him the broken one for sizing.He told me he couldnt have a used piece in the store & would not help me until it was gone.Although this has never been an issue before I was cordial & agreeable to whatever store policy was being cited.Upon telling the pierced gentlemen behind the counter that the piece had been soaked/scrubbed prior to coming in but that removing it was no problem he responded in a rather abrasive off putting manner calling the used piece "absolutely disgusting" & that we could "talk" once the piece was removed. Given the fact that I was already exiting the building w the piece for proper removal before he Lashed into the nasty tone..I told him I'd just be on my way. I don't know if this was a sales associate manager or the owner.But I'm well versed in customer relations within this industry & ive never once been treated with such rude insulting overtones.Its "absolutely disgusting" that this person can talk to customers this way. To run this type of business with judgy eyes & disposition is just totally unacceptable & a recipe for failure. The industry is all about customer service & loyalty.As such I will never ever go back to a shop w such ridiculous elitist behavior. They sold a friend of mine a defective water pipe and it is quite over-priced compared to the other smoke shops I have visited. It's got a huge selection of accessories and pipes, rolling papers, shirts, stickers, hookah, shisha, etc. read more

Pretty good shop ! The only reason I didn't give it five starts is because of the prices . The staff is super nice and friendly. One of the girls did an awesome job helping me pick a new bowl , too bad I didn't get her name . Overall , I would definitely come back and suggest it to others. read more

i just came from the store on rt. 5, Enfield CT. My objective was to return a $8.00 charger that was bad from the day I purchased approx. 3 weeks ago, and that I used it only ONCE.. which I explained to the MANAGER who was behind the register. when we got to the end of the store the manager stated that it is not common to return items, if they were purchased 3 weeks or more.. where he came up with that time frame I don't know... then the b/s started.. I tried to explain to him that i used it only ONCE.. (still had the tag on it). and the reason it took this long to return was I drive 100 miles a day for work and being in my 60's its hard to make time.. NOT to mention that i cant get there that often.. it is only a 8 dollar item.. I started to walk away, but when your integrity is being challenged......... I did make one big mistake I mentioned that my wife is in the MEDICAL cannabis program and offered to show my card he Jumped in my stuff.. stating that this is a tobacco shop... I apologized to him and stated you are absolutely correct.. when he FINALLY tested the charger I brought, he stated that they don't normally have problems with these chargers, HERE is one of the funny parts, the very first charger he checked FAILED, so much for his integrity.. as far as I am concerned as the Manager of the store he is the reflection of the ownership.. therefor I will no longer set foot in that store.. there are a lot of online and many more places to purchase these products.. not a good way to run a business.. over a fn. $8 dollar item... read more

I would like to start this review by saying that I like to think I am a very reasonable consumer. I went into Northern Lights knowing its products were pricey but I assumed it was because they were of a higher quality than its competitors. I purchased a different glass bowl because the one that came with my $200 water bong was borderline useless. 5 days later the glass screen on my $45 bowl broke seemingly out of nowhere after running water through it. I called Northern Lights and the previously helpful demeanor of its employees changed greatly. I was told I "wouldn't be satisfied until I got something free and that's not gonna happen". I asked why I was not told to be "super delicate while cleaning" (which I was?) with the screen upon purchasing it and he said I "should of known that". Upon telling a friend about my experience, he told me about a similar one he had with Northern Lights. I would compare my experience with Northern Lights to that of a corner car dealership selling soon-to-be broken down cars. Before you give them your money they are the most helpful and nicest people in the world; but after you make a purchase they are distant and laughing straight to the bank. When it comes to this industry, there are plenty of headshops like Northern Lights that have cheaper products and much better customer service, so I would advise people NOT to patronize this poor excuse of a business. read more
