When I went to get my ears cleaned last week at another doctor in Poughkeepsie, my ears got really…read morebad and the experience was terrible. However, although my last appointment here was years ago, having had that horrible experience in Poughkeepsie, I marched myself into this office. I knew I had a pleasurable experience and one I never have regretted in the past, and still don't regret having had yesterday.
Although we headed in for 2:30pm, it took the office staff a few minutes to clear away other guests from the one office window, but you could tell they were working diligently. They noticed us promptly, but having seen no sticker supporting Fidelis Medicaid Managed care, we asked. It took them a few moments to respond with yes. (At that point, they had another guest, but a few people who were following me were pressed for time and had to head out.)
When I finally got up to the front of the line and was assisted about 5 minutes later, they just "magically" had a 2:30 spot and they told us that I'd be the next person in as soon as the last man in came back out. Although the man that "came out" never happened when I was there, after I signed some papers and wrote up a new set of papers for their files on me, the nurse called me in. (That whole process took until about 2:50pm.)
Upon sending me into the exam room, the nurse started to look through the paperwork and having noticed that I was a big Yankee fan, she promptly got to telling me a story of who came into the office - (the main current clubhouse manager who was the former batboy of the New York Yankees) - (THAT GOES AGAINST HIPAA!). She didn't discuss the appointment or the reason why they came in, but having heard who came in was enough to say she wasn't following HIPAA rules when I mentioned how my email is so devoted to being a die-hard Yankee-fan! (She misunderstood my at-sign (@) as an "e", but whatever floats her boat, will work for me.)
I forgot to write down some of my other allergies and I mentioned them. She understood when I told her just how bad an allergy I had towards steroids were, but I had forgot to mention my allergy towards caine-group meds. However, as I was talking to her, the doctor came waltzing in.
I talked to the doctor in person. He asked about what brings me in, and I explained my problem with Dr. Borress' experience last week (mentioning this doctor's experience with my ear cleaning explained in this set of back-to-back reviews due to complexity and length of review: https://www.yelp.com/biz/ent-and-allergy-associates-poughkeepsie?hrid=jFnxP4Z8XuujyNPkj3E1qg&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) ). He promptly got to work; he checked the ear that wasn't presenting a problem, but found only a tad piece of earwax still in the ear that he brought out. In the other ear, he checked and had to scrape quite a bit more and then had to use an ear-vacuum to remove the ear wax. While it didn't beat the ear flush from 2000, I can actually hear again without the trouble of ear wax floating around in my ear which was making things terrible to hear.
Things are no longer bothering me, but it is annoying to have to go through such length to get my ears cleaned out after a terrible experience. Thank golly he's still in business after such a length of time I thought he'd never be here anymore.
