The owner Frank told me that he'd wait for me to get off of work to inspect the dent which was about 5:45 pm.

Going to an automotive body shop is usually like going to a hospital: you only go when something…read morebad has happened. Automobile accidents are an unfortunate reality for many of us considering how congested traffic has become, as well as the increase in distracted drivers. Alas, when someone recently ran into the side of my 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL, thankfully nobody was hurt, but they damaged my passenger side rear quarter panel, fender and door. FYI, I had this car professionally restored in the late 1980's and took it on the regional auto show circuit and did quite well. Today, I drive it on nice weather weekends and to local car shows and enjoy sharing it with admiring onlookers. Being a valuable older, special interest vehicle, I contacted respected friends and auto industry executives who know and work on these types of cars and understand what is involved to appropriately repair to a very high standard, any damage. Tommy Caruso, Proprietor of Caruso's Auto-Motive, Inc. came highly recommended by the owner of a regional Mercedes-Benz Dealership, as well as several Mechanics who specialize in German automobiles, from the 1950's to present day. From the moment I spoke with Tommy on the phone, to when I had my car flat-bedded to his repair shop in Plainfield, NJ, I had a very good sense that I had made the right choice. I found Tommy to be very personable and together we reviewed the damage, and he assured me that it was not as bad as it looked. His biggest concern was the anticipated challenge of blending the new paint on the repaired rear fender and door with the rest of the vehicle's 37-year-old paint. He met with a second appraiser from my automobile insurance company and submitted a detailed supplemental claim, explaining why he strongly felt the need to paint the entire car, since matching the older paint would be very difficult. Thankfully, my insurance company agreed and accepted his supplemental claim. Once the work was complete and the new paint fully cured, I saw the repaired and repainted car and was most pleased. He and his team made sure that the costs for all the work was always stated and shared with me, as well as clearly communicating his process and progress. He even detailed my car before I left. I can attest that Tommy strives for excellence in his auto repair work. He and his crew's experience, expertise and passion for doing an excellent job is most evident in not just my car, but in the other examples of several older and current Porsches, BMW's, Mercedes-Benz's, AMG's and Maybach's, that were in his shop at the same time as my car. If you have a special car that has a body issue that needs attention, it is well worth checking out Caruso's Auto-Motive, Inc.

My insurance company, NJM, recommended Coury's as one of their preferred auto body shops. I just received my car back yesterday, May 10th. They had my car for 52 days. That is correct... 52 days. I would call weekly to ask when it would be done and received the same answer multiple times... we are waiting on a part. Then I was told the part was back ordered. (this is a Mazda CX5.. popular car) The last call I made was about 12 days before I got it back. I was told the part came in bent so they had to order another. I complained that my car rental was no longer covered by insurance at that point so they did agree to pay it moving forward which they did. When I picked up the car yesterday, there was glue on the back inside of the car. I had a guy remove it. The outside and inside were covered in dust and it smelled like paint fumes inside. I had to get to work so I drove off. I then noticed this white glue or paint on the steering wheel and I also noticed my gas tank was completely empty. Not even one bar on the gauge. I actually sputtered into the closest gas station to fill up. After work, I returned to have them get the white marks off of my steering wheel. While an employee was doing so, I ran into Mr. Coury. I told him about the empty tank and he insisted they did not drive it anywhere but the car was started multiple times. I also mentioned how dirty the car was so he went over and assisted the employee in cleaning up the inside of my car. I believe the story about the gas. My issue is this... I have been in customer service since I was 15 years old. I know how to make a customer satisfied. Keeping my car for 52 days then returning it on dead empty and dirty inside and out is not the way to keep customers. The bill for my car was around $9800. Labor was a good part of it. I think the least they could have done is give it to me with a full tank of gas and cleaned up. Instead I got a box of cheap candy and a pen. If, by chance, I am that unfortunate to be in another accident that requires body work, you can bet that I will be taking my car elsewhere.

Patrick auto kept my car two days. Told I needed to replace solenoid, sensor, and thermostat. (Mind you, my car didn't overheat. Didn't run hot). Charged $650. I asked for defective parts. Upon arrival, service bill had no breakdown of labor, nor itemized charge for parts. Just a numbered invoice showing total price. I requested breakdown of itemized charges and labor hours. Told "my boss doesn't do that!" Told me my car was fine, driven, ran well. No problems. Started car...check engine light on immediately! Did a diagnostic..showed another problem! I left immediately. Car still hesitating on acceleration less than a minute after leaving auto shop. Never, ever again. No stars for this place but can't post review without it. I believe my rights as a consumer was violated. Will file complaint with NJ office of Consumer Affairs.

After I took my car here a month ago to have a sway bar and ball joint put on three weeks later the same issue I had before I took the car to Patrick's came back. And my car was suddenly leaking fuel. The shop where I got everything redone said not only were some of the parts put on incorrectly (which is prob the reason the issue came back) the the parts were low grade and I was most likely up charged more than what the part is worth. They will have your car for 3-4 hours for the most minimal job and the language barrier doesn't help. Bottom line is I will not be bringing my car back to this place. I feel used and abused.

I'm in the military and needed my 2016 Tundra cleaned inside and out to ship overseas. I called multiple shops, but none of them had any availability. My wife found DR Detail on Yelp and they had great reviews, so I hit them up. I told him I had to turn it in by 2:30pm the next day. I was also staying at a hotel, but he said that was no problem for them as they have their own water storage tank for their pressure washer on their mobile van. I asked them for an interior deep clean along with an exterior wash, which was templated online to take about 3 and a half hours. They came this morning at 9:30am and finished by 11:30. Their prices were also the best out of anyone I talked to. I have a yellow Labrador, and his fur was weaved into the floor mats and in all the nooks and crannies. They were able to remove all traces that my dog was ever in my truck. It's pretty amazing to say the least. For the last job done, I got a quote at C&L Autobody before going to Plains Auto. C&L didn't give me the time of day and created incorrect estimates. After I went to Plains Auto and did the work with them, they did a perfect job for significantly less cost than what C&L would've charged. When I got my car back, I was actively looking for imperfections, misalignments, mismatched color, etc and I couldn't find a single flaw in their work. Look at the attached photo, the car you see there was previously deemed a total loss by my insurance. It now looks and drives perfectly. Plains Auto is an easy recommendation for anybody with a car that has seen better days. Ask for Angelo and he will take care of you. That being said, they came through in the end with good friendly service and I would use them again.
