Dave has always given fair estimates and has finished the job promptly and beautifully

If you're looking for top-tier paint and bodywork, especially for a high-end or specialty vehicle like a Corvette, Body Work by Fischer in Westfield, NJ is the real deal. I brought my C8 Corvette to Dave to have some aftermarket parts professionally painted. I've worked with a lot of shops over the years, but Dave's attention to detail, transparency, and genuine passion for the craft stood out from the start. He took the time to go over every aspect of the job with me, made sure the color match was perfect (not easy with a finish like Carbon Flash), and the final result was flawless. You'd never know those parts didn't come straight from the factory. And just as important--Dave didn't treat this like just another job. He respected the car, appreciated what I was trying to do with it, and made sure the quality lived up to my expectations. There's a reason Body Work by Fischer has such a loyal following in the area. Family-run, honest, and meticulous--they're everything you want in a body shop. If you're a Corvette owner or just someone who wants it done right, Dave's your guy. read more

Body Work By Fischer - Body Shops Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

We took our car to Body by Fischer for a scrape that someone did to it in a parking lot. (Didn't leave a note). Dave and Bruce did the work quickly and it looks good as new. They also went beyond and cleaned the car inside and out at no extra cost. Fabulous work. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Amazing service and the owners are very kind. It's the fourth time I've used them. I always trust that the price is fair and the work quality is excellent. Family owned, friendly, timely service. 100% recommend. read more

I unfortunately had a run in with a yellow pole...whoops! Body work by Fischer negotiated with my insurance company and got the parts need to do the job right. I was able to keep driving my car while they waited for parts to come in. I only had to be without a car for one day. When I picked my car up today they even had washed it and vacuumed out the inside. I am beyond impressed with their customer service and quality of their work. I highly recommend them! read more

I've been going to Fischer for the past 10+ or so years. Now, with a teenage driver in the home, we have even more reasons to see Dave Jr. Luckily, none of our issues have been major - just little dings and stuff to our cars. Dave is a "straight shooter." He tells it as he sees it. He has always told me the "right way" to fix something and "the much cheaper, but good enough, way" and allowed me to decide which I want. He tells it like it is. And then he does a great job of whichever approach you choose. I've come across my share of all kinds of trades people over the years (I'm in my 50's). When you find the right ones, keep them on your team. Dave Jr. is our autobody guy, along with the "all-star" team I've assembled over the years as our plumber, electrician, handyman, etc. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that all who read this add Dave Jr./Fischer to their household's "team" as well! read more

Make this place your first stop if you need a body shop. The owner is honest, responsive, and professional. He managed to get the job done quickly and kept his commitment. I would definitely go back there next time. read more

They were amazing. On short notice reached out to fix a panel that had fallen off a "used" luxury SUV, and they told me to bring it in first thing Monday and they had it back to me by lunch. Super reasonable pricing, awesome work, and overall great experience. Thank you read more

Rear window on my 2002 330i would no longer roll-up on a Friday (just as weather is starting to get cold in NYC and a 200+ mile round trip out to Montauk planned for the weekend). Called Dave at 5:00 PM on a Friday who picked up, diagnosed the issue and told me to come by Sat AM. He didn't have the part on him on such short notice but went through the time and effort to open up the panel and manually roll-up the window so I could use the car this weekend as a courtesy. Straight shooter. Stand up guy. Great service. read more

Took my car in to get fixed and they set everything up, ordered the parts and called me to set an appointment when they received them. Brought the car in and it was ready in a few days. They went above and beyond. Fixed the issues and also fixed an issue that had nothing to do with why I brought my car in and did not charge me a thing for it. The only thing I wish they had told me and I chalk it up to everything being more expensive right now but the cost was slightly more than the original quote. read more

Best in the area. First and foremost, they did a great job with our car. They got to our car before any other place would, helped with pictures and working with our insurance to ensure everything was covered. Got the parts as early as possible and communicated everything. And overall the nicest and easiest group to work with. read more

Went to Fischer after receiving an exorbitant claim from some jerk on rt 22. When I arrived at Fischer randomly Sat morning with a sob story about damage on my car Dave Jr was more than happy to come take a look. He gave it a once over and since the only real issue was the runner that popped off he assured me he could fix it in under an hour. I couldn't stay but I went back Monday and sure enough the work was done quickly and with a smile. This seems to be a family business run with integrity and that's so hard to find these days. I do have some minor body work that needs to be done under the runner but until I can save money they at least made my car look pretty again. Thank you so much Dave!!!! When I've saved up enough to completely repair the body work I'll definitely be back!!! read more

Went in last Saturday afternoon on a whim to get an estimate for some minor body damage to my jeep. Dave Jr was there and took the time to explain what needed to be done to the car. The estimate he gave me was a fantastic deal (a place I went to a few weeks earlier quoted me twice what Dave did). Dropped my car off with Dave on Weds, and it was ready by Friday. Picked it up this morning and it looks amazing. Estimate was exactly the cost he charged me which made me very happy too. Will definitely be back if I ever need more repair work. Thank you to Dave! read more

Expert work. Professional service. Great prices and fast service. I couldn't ask for anything more. So pleased with every aspect!

Quality of work is great. Much cheaper than dealership. Very fast. Interior of car was cleaned. I highly recommend Fischer.

Best shop around! If you were wondering, the reviews are correct, thanks yelp! After being very upset about a recent minor damage to my car, I turned to yelp to help me find an auto body place and decided to give Fischer a try. I went in for a quick on the spot estimate. He showed me there was only one piece broken that could be orderd and repaired for an extremely fair price. I think it was Dave who ordered the part and it was done in only two hours the next business day. He also took away all black marks and even used some touch up paint to make it look its best, all included in the estimate and it wasn't a penny more. If you are really upset about your recent fender bender and you need some things to go right in your life, count on Fischer Auto for quality, honest service at a fair price. Your car and wallet will thank you!!! read more

My family has always relied on Body Works by Fischer for all our (many and varied) car issues. From dents, to paint scratches to major accident repair, the Dave Starr and family/crew are fabulous! read more

I don't have a lot of opportunities to write reviews for auto body work .. thankfully;) That said, great experience with these guys. Super professional. They quoted for some minor damage (couple dents and some cosmetic repair I wanted), and they delivered at estimate! The work is super professional, the repair is invisible, you would never know. In addition, they polished up the body of my Sequoia and took care of many small imperfections. The price shocked me - SHOCKED ME IT WAS SO GOOD! Very polite and professional to my wife, and delivered their promise with no surprises, except exceeding significantly our expectations! Great job. Would recommend to a friend hands down. read more

The team here went above and beyond in the repair of our car. Solid work done on time by a pleasant team. Highly recommended.

Oh my gosh. I've never written a reviewe about an auto body work place. But I had to--I was just so happy with the customer service and the work they did. I ruined my front bumper during the winter on ice..both sides of the bumper. It looked ugly. Got a couple of estimates and decided not to get it fixed...places on South Avenue in Garwood/Westfield border. A friend recommended Body by Fischer..I stopped by for an estimate. The owner, Dave, was SO nice and grew me a price lower than the other two estimates. I dropped the car off..didn't have a ride two days later to go pick it up so his son came to my house to pick me up and take me to the shop. They did an outstanding job. .. CLEANED the car before I picked it up!!! Bumper looks brand new. I would totally, definitely recommend this auto body shop. I am going to post this on their website also. read more

Dave at Fischer auto repair and paint did an excellent job, very reasonable price and high quality of work. Will recommend my friends here.

Reviews weren't wrong! Amazing customer service, attention to detail, and fair pricing. Dropped my Explorer off this week to repair damage from a side swipe and couldn't be happier. Car came out looking like new, honored the estimate which was a third lower than other local shops, and even had it washed and the interior cleaned. Would definitely recommend Dave and team to others. read more

If you are looking for a dependable body shop in the area, look no further. We have been taking our cars to them for the last 20 years (but first time writing a review). This is a down-to-earth, honest, family-friendly small business. Their fair and dependable estimates for the job and their quality of work and attention to detail during repairs will help forge a life long relationship. It happened to us! Just like having a trust worthy family doctor we couldn't think of anyone else first, for our auto body repair needs. Just had a Prius towed to them after an accident. Awaiting insurance adjuster to show up and work up an estimate. Dave Jr is awesome, as usual & was more concerned about our family member's health after the accident. We also take some of our newer cars for an annual auto-detailing to Dave Jr. I stumbled upon this site while pulling up business info for our new auto insurance company. Glad I wrote this review. Hopefully it will help someone be less anxious about their search for a repair shop. read more

SIX STARS! Plain and simple...the best body shop around!! For many years I have worked with Dave senior and now Dave junior. Both are gentlemen and experts at their trade. Don't hesitate, have your bodywork done at Fischer. read more

Simply stated: you'd be nuts to go anyplace else for fixing up your vehicle. Dave, Jr can do anything; no nonsense, fair price and amazing craftsmanship. Plus the Fischers are awesome people. Nobody, nowhere as good as Fischer. read more

Went to Fischer after a friend recommended them. Had an incident with my back car door and the garage door... I didn't know what to expect, but Dave Jr. gave me a very fair estimate to fix my back door. He said it would be one price to fix the dents and he also gave me an estimate to replace the door, since some of the rubber was scratched on the inside. I brought it in a few days later, they hammered out the dents and it looked like nothing had happened. I was so pleased! They charged me what the estimate was -- no hidden costs or unexpected charges, and very reasonable. They are good, honest men and I highly recommend this body shop if you need work done! read more

Dave at Body Work by Fischer in Westfield did an amazing job on our car. It was a big job but we picked it up on the day promised and it looked brand new! read more

My experience with Fischer was very satisfying. Their initial quote was much lower and more credible than "off the cuff" estimates by other local shops. The final job on my fender and bumper was on time, cost exactly what they quoted and .. best of all .. was of superb quality. I strongly recommend them to others. read more

I can't say enough good things about Body Work by Fischer. The first time I went years ago I was in college and my car had been hit. Every body shop I went to gave me an outrageous estimate and then someone suggested I see BWBF. I've never gone to anyone else since then. With a 6 car family, we have made a lot of visits to them over many years and I have never had an issue with any of their work. Dave and Dave, Jr. have to be the nicest people ever. Nice, considerate people and great work. What more could you ask for? read more

I've dealt with Body Work By Fischer for over 15 years and Dave Jr and family has always taken care of my ride, whether it's been bodywork and paint or detailing. Dave has fixed my truck a couple of time with care and I've been thrilled with the price and results. read more

I was very disappointed with the treatment I received from Dave Starr, Sr. when I came to pick up my repaired vehicle. The work, as many have stated, was excellent, however, someone failed to contact the insurance company that was paying for the repair to discuss the difference between their estimate and Fischer's. When I dropped off the car, Dave Sr. said that he didn't know anything about the faxed estimate from Liberty Mutual, but that his son, Dave Jr., probably had it and they knew what to do. When I arrived to get my car, payment in full was expected, and I was unable to use a credit card. Having already dropped off my rental, I had no choice but to pay the full amount which was $128.63 more than the insurance company had given me. I was extremely upset about this, and after discussing it in the parking lot with my friend who had dropped me off, I attempted to return to the office to discuss stopping payment on the check until I could resolve the issue with the insurance company. Despite the sign saying the hours were until 6:00 that Friday, Mr. Starr apparently closed up shop after our transaction and left. Further attempts to resolve this issue have been unsuccessful. I did not cause the accident, but ended up paying for it. I truly believe that the body shop knew the proper protocol for handling the difference in estimates, but failed to do what was required. Having never had an accident before, I was unaware of how this should be handled. I guess the lesson I learned is to use the repair shop that the insurance company recommends so that no cost is incurred by the accident victim. read more
