North Valleys Regional Park is located in the North Valleys of Reno. The park can be accessed from the Stead BLVD or Lemmon Drive exits. This park is huge and has a lot to offer. The park is clean and has multiple parking lots to park in. There is a skate park. There are several baseball fields. The baseball fields are in good condition. There are bathrooms at this park. However, they are closed almost every time I am visiting the park. There is a huge, grassy area to play on. There is a volleyball court, even though it's missing a net. There are two playgrounds at this park. The airplane park is shaped like a plane. It's a very cool and unique playground. Soft padding is located underneath this playground. There are no swings at this playground. The plane playground is located at the north end of the park. The playground located near the baseball fields has a large covered eating area next to it. There are swings at this playground but there are no toddler swings. There is a soft padding underneath this playground. This padding is getting worn and should be replaced soon. This is a great splash park for the littles. There is a great play structure and lots to do! The water is cool, the staff are pleasant, and there is plenty of shade. Our group opted to rent a shaded pavilion for the day and it was perfect! I love being able to bring our own food and drinks. The price for entry is a great deal and totally worth it. However, on our recent visit there was an upsetting encounter. They are pretty strict about the type of clothing allowed to be worn for the safety of guests, sanitation of water, etc., so then tell me why a young girl was allowed to be dressed as a furry? While I understand things like that are a personal choice, I feel it was wildly inappropriate for a splash park for many reasons and should have been addressed. read more

Awesome splash park for the littles. The play structure water is no joke and is LOUD and will leave you VERY wet. My 3.5 year old had fun but the intense water falling in the play structure was a bit much for him. He loved the slides and the surrounding water features. My 1.5 year old just liked splashing in the puddles mostly. I do wish the staff would monitor the play structure and slides more consistently for safety because not all parents watch their kids. Reasonable price for the day, the shade structures were nice. We went on a weekday so there were not a lot of people there but I imagine a weekend may be a nightmare. Loved being able to bring my wagon in along with food and drinks (no glass, probably not alcohol). Bathrooms available as well. We will be back again! read more

Quite the drive for me and the kiddos but a nice water fountain park. It compares well to the Lazy 5 water park but has some different features that are cool. I would recommend checking it out with your kids even if it is a further drive. read more

It's a decent park for kids, However it doesn't have a great walking path. So I had to make do and just walk along the soccer field in wet grass. Ladies just make sure to keep your head on a swivel and if your listening to music keep one ear bud out, it is a little off the beaten path. read more

Went today for the first time & had a good time. Its only $4 a person & plenty of space to lay & soak up the sun after getting totally drenched. They could benefit by adding more sun chairs. There's several canopy areas for celebrating an event or if there's many to your group. All in all we had a nice time, definitely going back. read more

I would not recommend this place. The staff was so incredibly rude to me and my niece and nephews. I actually heard the staff talking badly about myself and my friend. It was so unprofessional and all around a bad experience. My nephew fell and hit his nose on their slide, it started bleeding badly and instead of the staff helping, we were asked to leave from under the shade because a party was coming... as my nephews nose was profusely bleeding. We left after 15 minutes because it was such a terrible experience. There is also NO shade for anyone unless you reserve the shade areas for $70, so if you have small children they will have no shade. I would recommend wild island instead, the staff has always been nice there. read more

Great park, clean, safe, and not too crowded. Plenty of parking, great park for dogs (clean up after them) I've gone a few times with my favorite 6 year old, and he loves the water park. It's only $3! You can't beat that. The teens who work there earn their money, because kids are always running, slipping and falling. It's relatively new, and I hope they keep everything in good working order. They are pretty hard-core about no cotton. No cotton shorts, or shirts. They could use a few more shady spots, but I've always been able to find a place to watch the mayhem. If they allow food trucks, an ice cream truck could make a killing out there! read more

I'm giving this Northvalley waterpark a five star. For being a small water park, it is fun and adventurous for children of all ages. Even though there's no large slide like wild island it gets the job done for what it's purpose is. The admission is fair for the waterpark. It is three dollars a person for children and adults. They have small shady areas for people who like shade. If you want a shady Area my best advice is to get here early. I've been here a few times now and I have not seen this waterpark overly crowded to where children cannot play. I really like how they reuse the water. There's a time in the day that it stops for about five minutes to recycle and sanitize. Waste not want not!!! If you have never been to the North Valley water park you should take the time and go check it out! read more

I took my wife and kids here today (ages four and almost two) for some outdoor fun in the summer heat. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that there isn't one closer to my house (This one is in Stead). It's like the one in Spanish Springs, only somehow better. We came on a Sunday morning about a half hour after they opened, and I was pleased to see that the place wasn't insanely packed for a weekend. Awesome water features! Like a big, water-emanating playground. Nice shaded picnic tables to stage your stuff at. Clean restrooms. I think they even had food somewhere to purchase. Admission prices were more than reasonable at three dollars for each of us, and my daughter was free because she was under age two. I believe that seniors are free as well, so bring the grandparents. Great place for the kids to have fun and stay cool in the summer, as well as the adults to stay cool and get some sun. Needless to say, bring your bathing suits and sunscreen. This is a nice affordable splash park. We tried this park out for the first time this summer (now it is closed till next season). We happened to go on a really windy terrible day for outdoor water activities, which I am told made it a lot less crowded, which was good for us. Apparently it can get quite busy. For a group of toddlers it was fun, and not too expensive. Toddlers are of course funny, so ours had more interest in the lawn chairs than the actual water features. But I'm sure in the coming years they will really get into the water stuff. My advice for parents or whoever is bringing the kids to the park - you really should bring your bathing suit. We did just in case, but thought maybe only the kids would need theirs on. We ended up getting pretty splashed and sprinkled on just supervising and walking around with the kids - so bring it! read more

My two year old niece was in town and we wanted to get her energy out. So off to the playground. This playground is great and safe. No bark here. All cushioned floor around the entire structure. It states that the structures are for 5 and up so I recommend climbing the stairs with the younger ones. The slides are clean and not too steep for even a two year old. The sound of her giggling was great for something that is free to enjoy. Anxious to see how much of a madhouse the water park will be when it opens in the summer. read more

This is a nice clean park but they used to have one of those old school spinner play toys that kids would get on and spin around and sometimes come flying off of. I'm sure some parent complained and they took it out and just left an ugly empty space there. That spinner was the main reason we used to come to this park. Now we happen to live across the street so this is our neighborhood park. Keep in mind that there are really 2 parts to the play area as well as a soccer field, a large baseball area, a community center and a waterpark. This park seems small but is actually pretty big. The area with the plane is fun yet small with not much going on there but thankfully has some good cushioning all around it. The waterpark was a great recent addition and is cheap to get it and spend a few hours on a hot summer day with the kids running around. There are lots of events at the community center and we've attended several. All in all it's a fun neighborhood park. read more

Rude and inconsiderate staff members at this water park. My friend's son's 1st bday party was held here although the weather was pretty crappy today. The staffs here could have told me what to do before I had to pay for admission due to today's weather condition. Within 10 mins or so they shut the park equipment down because of the weather condition today. So...we didn't use a drop of this park's water to get soaked...instead, We got soaked from the rain and hail. Had to leave the place. It was getting real nasty - my 7 year old daughter was shivering. So I approached 2 different staffs and asked them for a refund simply because we literally just walked in...and all they had to say was "You should've read the sign. It's the park policy. Can't help you." They also told me they let in so many people FOR FREE around the time that they were charging me to get in...like they did me a huge favor. A great example of HORRIBLE customer service. Never coming back to this place. read more

First off, the park itself is great! Nicely maintained, the new structures are fun (though I'd say the airplane structure is somewhat lacking for the 5-12 age group it is supposedly designed for). My kids had a great time. I was, however, unhappy to get confronted by a woman who told me she was part of the neighborhood security for that park. We had brought our two dogs (leashed, of course) and about 10 minutes after we arrived, she showed up with a camera and told me that she was taking pictures of my dogs, because they weren't allowed in that park. I apologized, and told her I hadn't seen any posted signs, to which she said that they must have been knocked down during construction, but that I should have looked at the county parks website because the parks department could fine me for having my dogs there. Apparently we're all supposed to be checking the website for our public parks before we go, but the park has no obligation to post anything at the park itself? Unfortunately, I don't get great data reception there, so I wasn't able to look. I took my dogs home, annoyed because she was confrontational about it instead of just trying to be informative. I have no issue with a park deciding to not allow dogs - though it should be prominently posted - I had a problem with the way she chose to confront me about it. For the record, the county website does have a section explaining exactly which parks dogs are not allowed in, and this park is not on that list. I also double-checked for signs and nowhere in the are we were in said anything about pets. So the park is great - I'm looking forward to checking out the water area if it opens this year - but watch out for the neighborhood watch, because at least one of them is not very well informed. This is one of the nicest children's parks in the area year round, but especially for the splash park that is open in the summer months. The splash park pays homage to the Reno Air Races that take place every year at the Stead airport by featuring the "Rare Bear" and other aircraft, a fountain lined "runway," a "windsock" that is actually a bucket that fills and dumps water on awaiting (and sometimes unsuspecting) children. There are three different water slides for varying ages. In the previous years, the splash park seemed a bit intimidating for very small children due to unpredictability of the fountains, but this year the side for small children has fewer surprises, which is a good thing. It would be hard to find a better value for family fun this summer. Admission to the park is $3. Children 2 and under as well as seniors are free. The park has a concessions stand that sells snacks and Blue Bunny ice cream bars for a totally reasonable $1-$2.50 each. They also accept credit card payments for entry and snacks. There are several shade structures with picnic tables and lawn areas for chaise lounges and towels. Some chaise lounges are provided, but at busy time it might be better to bring your own chairs. The posted rules state that umbrellas and shade structures are not allowed, however, you can bring your own umbrella for shade as long as it does not stake into the ground. We have visited the splash park many times since it opened and my children have always had a wonderful time and made new friends there. read more
