I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by North Texas Veterinary Clinic. Over the years, I have entrusted my dog's care to this clinic, but their recent performance has been nothing short of appalling. Firstly, it's nearly impossible to get a doctor on the phone. Every time I call for advice about my pet, I'm told to wait for a call back or go to the ER. Worse, non- doctors are diagnosing my pet over the phone, which is highly unprofessional and risky. A particularly distressing incident involved my dog's mastitis. The doctor prescribed Clavamox before going on vacation, showing little concern for the condition. Five days later, my dog needed life-saving emergency surgery as the mastitis had gotten much much worse, They could not accommodate the surgery,forcing us to go to the emergency clinic. Last week, my dog hadn't urinated for 48 hours and was vomiting. I called for advice and was told a doctor would call me back. I didnt get a call back until hours later when I was on my way to the Emergency room because our clinic failed us again. This delay is unacceptable in an emergency. Despite the critical nature of her condition, they couldn't make room for my dog to come in,for the second time. The clinic has consistently failed both me and my dog, especially when it comes to serious health issues. While they were fine for routine care like puppy shots and fecal exams, they have proven to be unreliable and inadequate when real problems arise. Instead of relying on our veterinary clinic, we have had to depend on the ER. The receptionist displays a superiority complex, providing incorrect information about test result timings and refusing to connect me with a doctor promptly. After making a fuss about the culture results timing and picking up medication from the ER,  I get a call an hour later that her culture results came back with a botched time of 6pm, when I received the culture at 1pm. I had to turn to the ER for medication because the clinic couldn't provide timely help. The receptionists are uneducated & if you do get any advice from them it will be "Go to the ER." When I asked for a small discount on a supplement, the receptionist refused, claiming she could lose her job over it. This level of inflexibility over a minor discount is absurd. Not to mention that when I recieved the culture results the manager stated " We processed it again free of charge." That was on them to run it again, not me. I had no clue it was ran twice until the manager called me to tell me the results. Moreover, the clinic's manager diagnosed my pet over the phone, failed to send medical records promptly when we decided to switch clinics, and showed a lack of concern for our departure. This included Destiny, the receptionist, and Cody, the manager, who made no effort to retain us as clients. I have taken my dog there since she was 8 weeks old all the way up to my dogs pregnancy and has even helped us with the puppies, so it is such a bummer that they have failed us after all this time. Dr. Cash has been our doctor for all of our pets answering all of our questions at in person visits, providing me with research  & even gave me a call today to ask how Ryder was doing. She is the only person I have encountered there that has a genuine concern for my pets. I hope Dr. Cash finds it in her best interest to work with a much better clinic that does not slander her name. The misinformation, lack of responsiveness, and overall negligence have made this ordeal much harder than it should have been. Instead of relying on our veterinary clinic, we've had to depend on the ER. I no longer trust North Texas Veterinary Clinic with my pet's care and will be taking my dogs to a different clinic from now on. I strongly advise others to reconsider before trusting them with their pets. read more

We had a stray female cat that we took in. We set up a wellness exam because she was shaking her head and fluid came out of her ears. We wanted to get her vaccinated, look at her ears and overall health, and discuss spay and microchipping. Dr. Shannon Tucker was our vet. She said our cat was in good health, did not have ear mites nor any other problems with her ears, and she had no microchip. We got her complete first round of shots, paid for a blood test to make sure she didn't have feline leukemia, we scheduled a spay appointment and discussed cost of microchipping. We had to remind her ta check her temperature and give her the leukemia shots. After our visit, at home, we took a picture of her yawning and discovered a missing upper canine tooth. Later she was still shaking her head with fluid coming out and she had a hot ear. We made an emergency visit to another vet. They swabbed her ears and discovered bacterial and yeast infection. They also discovered a chip and identified that she was spayed and already had her full shots. They also discovered a fractured tooth. We should have received a full refund, but the office manager only offered a partial. We will not return, no refer. We are very disappointed. read more

Made an appointment for first thing the next morning. The front desk staff was very friendly when we walked in and the vet tech equally friendly and caring. He got all of his shots, heart worm test, anal glands expressed, office visit and prescription for heart worm prevention all for $175. I'm very satisfied with the cost and even more so the staff. The team at NTVC is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! They have just performed an acl surgery for my dog Storm and the level of service far exceeded the amount charged. Follow up appointments were a breeze! I have a stubborn dog and won't take her medicine, so they took the tile to show me how to pull her, iced her down at 3 days post op, they trimmed her nails for me and just went above and beyond to just provide care for my dog that is a family member. They put heart and love into everything they do and do not act like most vets that are trying to turn rooms and patients as quickly as possible. I have asked well over 100 questions and they took the time to sit with me until I had a clear understanding of what to expect, follow through with PT, how to help with medicine and I just cannot thank them enough for being professional, and friendly as they aren't required to be loving, that part is a choice and this place is a family and it shows! I couldn't say enough great things about them and hope you would do yourself a favor and change your primary care doctors to NTVC! I walked out of there having to pay $500 for allergy shot and antibiotics and they wanted me to come back for a follow up at that point I decided to go to a different vet, followed up with another vet had the same treatment and it only cost $200. We have been taking our Maltese to this clinic for years. We have usually seen Dr. James and he is a very caring and a wonderful veterinarian. He always makes time to listen to you and then offers his best advice moving forward on various health issues. You can tell that he really does care about the animal and the customer. I read a review that said this office refused to fill online prescriptions for their patients if it was something that they sold at their office. I called to verify if this was true prior to making an appointment for my bulldog and it is true! The only place they will fill a prescription with it vet source who they have a contract with. We have bulldogs and are constantly at the vet. One of them has degenerative myelopathy . The only way that we can be vigilant about keeping our vet appointments is by saving money by using Chewys for our prescription pet food and meds. read more

Worst experience at a vet. TLDR: They took 7 months of my life, $500+, and suggested I remove my Pugs ear canals rendering her def. All to fix an ear infection.I took my pug to my old vet and 1 month later she was cured. F*ck this place. (but the office staff & technicians are lovely) Here is my story and why you shouldn't take your pet here: Let me tell you about this place. First off, the actually office staff are wonderful people and the doctors SEEM like they want to help. I don't if they are incompetence or just greedy. I have a pug. Like most pugs, she is prone to ear infections. About once a year when the seasons change she gets one. Usually, I go to vet, i get meds, 2 weeks later she is fine for another year. This time she got a resistance strain of bacteria. I shit you not, for 7 months Dr. James Scheifley and Dr. Megan McCarthy just threw random treatments my way hoping to fix it. I told them to use whatever ear medication my old vet used.Dr. Megan said she would get in contact with my old vet and get this solved. I was then assured that the next round of medications would work and was EXACTLY like the meds my old vet would give me. Dr. Megan lied. She lied right to my face. They gave me the same shit that had not been working. For 7 months my dog had black tar coming out of her ears. After 7 months they told me there was nothing more they can do and suggested.... I remove my dogs ear canals, rendering her def or go see a dermatologist. Before removing my dogs hearing, I took my pug back to my old vet. My old vet (Hurst Animal Clinic) told me I could have the ear swab cultured and find out what antibiotics would work (something North Texas NEVER TRIED) and within 1 month my pugs ear infection was cured. BTW when I told Hurst Animal Clinic that North Texas wanted to have my pugs ear canal removed my awesome vets response was: "Holy frijoles, I haven't heard of anyone suggesting that surgery in years!" After a horrible experience at another Vet (Terry Litsey in Watauga), my wife and I did more due dilligence this time around when our second dog needed medical attention. We found Dr. James Sheifley on a Google search, and all of the reviews were positive. In fact, he specializes in anesthesia, which caught our eye. When I brought our Beagle mix in for a routine visit to have a new growth inspected, I was informed that she would have to go under anesthesia, and while under, we could get her teeth cleaned as well. I explained how we recently had a dog die while under (at Litsey Animal Hospital), and Dr. James completely willingly spent about 20-30 minutes to thoroughly explain the anesthesia process. There was no doubt, in my mind, that Dr. James was very knowledgeable, and caring. Today, our Beagle had her growth removed, and teeth cleaned. Dr. James called my nervous wife, immediately afterwards, and informed her that everything went very well. In addition to the Doc, everyone at North Texas Veterinary Clinic is very friendly, and I can't say enough good things about all of them. VERY knowledgeable Vet, prices on par with most other clinics, and a friendly staff, will most definitely bring our happy Beagle back soon when her next shots are due. Highly recommend! read more

We took our little pup, cooper for his first ever appointment last month. Dr.Gray is very friendly, and obviously passionate about her career. She has answered all questions with great knowledge, and confidence. All admit that I was a little hesitant in bringing our pup due the far ddube, and the lack of pet boarding since we go out of town pretty often, but they recommended other locations for that service and I appreciated that. I took my dog here for an ear infection. The staff was friendly but the medicine prescribed did not help my dog. In fact, what i was doing before i brought him in was actually working better. I won't be going back. Very disappointed. My old vet in Mansfield gave me a medicine for his ears when they got irritated which was rare and it would work overnight. I've used the ear wash and medicine every night for a week as well as pulled the hair out in his ears and he was more irritated than he was before. Update: What are you talking about? I never said I was on a tight budget. I did not decline the rinse. I bought it!!! What I was using can be purchased at any store, witch hazel. I stopped using your product and went back to the witch hazel and some tea tree oil...obviously not in the ear canal on tea tree oil. Can't even keep your clients straight. Sheesh. My bill was $266.57!!! I take my two DinBots: Sludge and Snarl AKA BonSai and Madeline. Both my dogs, a beagle and Cocker Spaniel, enjoy their visit. The Staff is very professional and our Doctor spent quality time with our visits. I really enjoy hearing my dogs current weight just to see my significant others facial reaction. My husband and I are so thankful we found this vet clinic. Especially in the last few years of our precious dog Icee's life. Dr James and his staff are so amazing. If there is ever a problem, they will see our pets as soon as possible and always show concern for their well being. We took our 11 year old dog in for allergies. Dr Kelsey is incredible, very thorough and explained things multiple time. Dr visit is like $55 and yes our meds were expensive but our dog is so much healthier and happier. We will always go here. We just left the clinic from having our kitten seen for an infection in her spay incision (we were having such a problem keeping her e-collar on and she kept licking the incision). Ms. Davis and her vet tech (can't remember her name, but she was a very sweet girl with blonde hair) both had excellent bedside manner, made us feel right at home, and made our kitten as comfortable as possible. You can tell they really care for the animals and they aren't just there to get your money. I was able to make an appointment to be seen the day after I called which was nice. Anyway, they tried out a different type of e-collar on her, and had us wait for a little while in the office to make sure she couldn't get it off. They gave us antibiotics and sent us on our way. The price for the vet visit was comparable as well. We will be bringing all (and we have many:) of our furry kids here. read more

I highly recommend North Texas Veterinary Clinic. Our dog has a growth on her face that looked worrisome so we took her in to get her checked out. I confused the time for her appointment and showed up 30 minutes early. They nicely told me that my appointment wasn't for another 45 minutes (I was early even for when I thought the appointment was) but they would try to get me in as soon as possible. After about 10 minutes they called me back to get my dog all checked in significantly earlier than my actual appointment. Everything is over the phone as they are following all the Coronavirus guild lines. After the exam the vet call to recommend a course of action and what he thought was going on. He gave several options and recommended what he thought was best and not the most expensive. While I was waiting in my car for them to finish up my battery died. I asked the person that called to get me checked out if anyone would be able to help me with a jump start. The vet gave one of the vet techs the keys to his truck to come and help me out. When we were still having a tough time the vet himself came out and helped. Everyone in this office went above and beyond and I really appreciate it! read more

Just took my cat in today. Everyone was VERY nice and gentle with Simba. The doctor was NOT at all pushy about 'extras,' and the nurses were amazing. Even Simba loved them, and he is typically very anxious at the vets. The receptionist was great, from letting me email her my cat's records, to scheduling the appointment, confirming via email the receipt of the records, AND recommended another vet with different specialties for a friend (now that says something!). The price was what I typically pay, and I recommend you give NTVC a try if you are looking for a new vet. read more

Outstanding, caring, you are welcomed from moment you walk in, both pet and "parent" are immediately acknowledged and taken care of and it doesn't stop after the visit. Follow up status up calls are made within 48 hrs, sometime sooner. When addresses on your pets issues, they, both Dr and Staff, talk to you, not at you. They let you know everything that they know and they do it with respect, contrary to the other places where the owner in either ignored or talked down to. You will know how good they are just by the friendly voice when you call in. I wish my Doctor was set up the same way. read more
