I was looking for a new vacuum and I was told that North Shore had a good selection. What actually gives this a 5-star review is that the repair guy, (name escapes me), suggested I bring in my vacuum cleaner to see if it was worth a repair, instead of going for the upsell. I respect that. Although it turns out my old vacuum would cost more to repair than it was worth, I am most definitely going to purchase a vacuum at North Shore because they know their products which are of excellent quality. What a great company! I have only positive things to say about the company, the service, and the staff. I brought in a very old vacuum that just stopped working. They are into vacuums! The woman who took my information was excited about seeing my old vacuum and informed me how the process will work. I wasn't in any hurry, but they called in a couple of days to say it was ready. When I picked it up, it looked brand new! They cleaned it all up, replaced the old bag, and didn't charge for that. It was a very reasonable charge and worth every penny. They are friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and I recommend them wholeheartedly with no reserve. The fact that they are a local, family-owned business is the icing on the cake. He spent the time to thoroughly evaluate our old unit & determined that it really wasn't worth investing money to repair & gave his unbiased recommendations for a replacement without any upsell pressure. I called North Shore Vacuum after my MD AirMaster Central Vacuum failed. I believed that the vacuum was still under warranty but the company I had install it was no longer in business so I was calling North Shore Vacuum because they were also a licensed dealer/servicer. I spoke with Jillian who sent someone out to assess the unit. It was determined that the unit's motor failed due to being miss-installed by the other company and as such I would have had to have been covered by the company that miss-installed it and not the manufacturer. That was disappointing, but I still went ahead and authorized North Shore to begin replacing the motor as that was still much cheaper than replacing the entire unit. A few days later I got a voicemail from Jillian letting me know that not only had the repair been completed, but she'd also convinced the manufacturer to cover the cost of replacing the motor under warranty! Please note that I'd already authorized North Shore vacuum to move ahead on the repair at my expense so there was really nothing in it for Jillian/North Shore by going the extra mile and working their relationship with the manufacturer to get them to cover it! So glad they did and will obviously use them again and highly recommend Jillian and North Shore Vacuum! Thank you. read more

MyOreck Vac needed service and I was looking for someone to take it to. I saw that North Shore Vacuum had opened in Middleton and I brought my vacuum to them. They identified some isssues that needed correction and did a great job fixing the vacuum. It is now working like it was new again. So glad they have opened a shop here in Middleton! Our central vac motor died and the owner, Wayne, did everything he could to ensure that we received service right away as they were shutting down for vacation. Very accommodating and fast, professional service. Because it was a late afternoon appointment, he also followed up the next day to ask if everything went well, which is so rare today and such a nice personal touch. Our service tech, Tim, was great, making sure we were able to leave on time for an engagement we had. A great experience overall. read more

I've been taking my vacuum to them for years. I tend to get my rugs caught in the power beater brush and burn out the belt. They fix it while I am out running errands. Instead of trying to sell me a newer fancier model they tell me what a great vacuum it is. They are great keeping it in tip top condition. It is old and today I am taking it in to see if it can be revived as it died for no apparent reason a couple of weeks ago, shortly their business was damaged by a car drive through. J M.04/01/2014 Just brought my central vac hose and beater brush in for repairs. 5 days later I called to check on it, Wayne says " I will call you back in 10 min" So he had not looked at it yet. He calls me back , says that my hose has no suction, I did not bring it in for that problem, It had great suction the day I brought it in. I bring it home and proceed to check the suction--it is as strong as ever!! What is it, I am not a vacuum expert but I know my vacuum had suction. I should have asked for a demonstration, but I really thought he was telling me the truth. Will not go there ever again and would not recommend to anyone for repairs. I really feel he wanted to sell me a whole new setup. read more

Do not trust them! They steel your money. They wanted to charged me for uncorking hose for$160. When I came to them and checked it the hose was working. No one apologized. Just extremely not polite toward me. Do not leave them your vacuums and do nit trust them! read more

Great experience. I was in the market for a new vacuum but knew nothing about them. I happened to go when the owner, Wayne, was working and he was knowledgable and friendly. He made several suggestions within my price range and made the whole experience memorable. I had a dyson vacuum with some suction issues. I took it to be repaired. I paid $60. It was not fixed. I decided to buy a Meille vacuum. A high end vacuum will perform better, right? I paid $1,400. Just a few days after my 1 year warranty the vacuum isn't working. I took it to the store and I was told to leave it and for $60 they will take a look at it. I decided they didn't do very well on the Dyson and thought should honor the warranty because it was only a short time out. I feel ripped off. Anyone can sell a vacuum, it's the service you are looking for after the purchase. A small family business should step it up in the service department. Do yourself a favor and go to Sears. You won't be out $1,400 and maybe someone in their service department will actually care about the product they sold you. read more

I stopped in to see Wayne in the Middleton store after our Central Vacuum system hadn't worked properly for years. We set up an appointment for 4 days later. The service professional Bill was immediately able to locate the problem in the wiring and resolve it quickly. The pricing and convenience of North Shore Vacuum is what I would hope for. Its nice to find a company that specializes in this business and truly knows what they are talking about. read more
