Not really what you expect the staff doesn't understand when you say that's not my product but they ring it up anyway smh kinda weird but the managers stand at the end of the checkout line like creeps and you don't belong there. I recently visited here to do a Demo for Juan Valdez coffee. The manager and all the staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful toward me and I could see the customers were happy to be there. I witnessed customers receiving exceptional customer service and I myself did as well. The establishment itself was nice and they had lots of products I don't find in most supermarkets. I love grocery shopping when I am on the Island. You see, in south Florida we are not lucky enough to have stores like Stew Leonard's or North Shore Farms. Sure we have Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, but it's not the same. Short on time we stopped here for just a few odds and ends. The first thing I noticed was the large produce department. We didn't have time to go through it but everything looked fresh and there was a great variety of fruits and vegetables. I was impressed with their cheese department. Huge selection of gourmet cheeses and even a few samples too. Same applies to the large selection of olives, they have just about every olive you can think of and then some. I sampled a marinated olive with red pepper flakes. It was crazy hot! Luckily I found another cheese sample to calm my mouth down because it was on fire! We bought unstuffed green olives and I will have some later today. We wound up buying crab meat salad, healthy tuna salad and broccoli cole slaw. The only salad with added sugar is the broccoli slaw, so I won't be trying that one although I heard it's very good. The crab salad was quite good even though it was made with imitation crab meat. I liked the tuna a lot too. Large selection of prepared items you just need to reheat. Last night we had lemon grilled chicken breast and balsamic chicken breast. Yummy! Saving the best for last, brussels sprouts! They were prepared with olive oil, sea salt and balsamic vinegar. I can make a meal of just the brussels sprouts & call it a day. Our cashier was quick, the store is clean and the prices are reasonable. Love North Shore Farms! read more

They renovated & refreshed this place so well that you can't even tell it used to be an old, run-down Waldbaum's. You walk into a really vibrant produce section and the smell of coffee samples. We don't love the meat section - but everything else is awesome. They have such a good deli counter (the kale power salad is incredible), create your own salad bar, soup station, fresh bread & pastry counter and an incredible selection of cheeses, dips and produce. I come in here whenever I'm hosting an event because you can make the most amazing antipasto or meat/cheese plate. Love it! read more

Stew Leonard's, Uncle Giuseppe's, Iavarone Brothers, Fairway and Northshore Farms are so much more than just grocery stores. The only question is can they all coexist on Long Island and survive. Regardless of those mentioned, Northshore Farms been one of my favorite grocery stores in the area where we shop often. They provide always fresh meat, fish and chicken at favorable prices. They have a decent bakery also. And I do love their cheese and delicatessen section. It may be a further from my house than some of their competitors mentioned above, but it's worth the drive for me to get better pricing with the same if not better quality than grocery stores closer to my home. Please don't take it from me, check it out yourself. read more

I go to this super market occasionally. On SEVERAL occasions the produce is rotten and literally has mold on it. I understand it happening once in a blue moon but to see several workers working around it and not throwing it out is appalling!!! If there produce is this rotten what about there fish and meats!!!!! I work nearby and late hours and I found out they close at 10:00pm. So I've been there twice now. It's very modern pretty country like.....but that's where it ends. I purchased 2 different soups that were at best ok.Some crackers New York something , everything on it ugghhhh ...sorry. Tonight I bought "homemade bread , onion bread & so forward to having it roasted and Smart balance... all soo bland no flavor.Disappointed!!!!! I also purchased a container of olives mixed and they were good enough.hmmmmm So sorry I'm not a fan. And I just read someone else's review and I agree a very strange taste ....not good not happy. read more

In the shadow of affluent Dix Hills where folks can spend a little extra on worldwide Delicacies. So happy to see these items all fresh. North Shore became my go-to whenever I'm in the area. My Christmas and Holiday parties would be festooned with all sorts of flavors and tastes from my Bavarian Irish and Italian heritage's. Wow, now I can get everything here. The Deli is outstanding. I don't have to cook my own dishes anymore they can do it for me. I was able to quickly fill my order here early in the day. It's recommended to come here on off times so it's not crowded. I went to NSF specifically to buy the live lobsters which was advertised as $6.99 a pound. When I got to the fish department all the lobsters had one claw. These are called Cull lobsters and are usually less expensive, as they are rejects. They have to be advertised as Cull but the advertisement was false. I spoke to the seafood manager and he says "that's the way we get them". I passed on buying them as presentation was very important for my dinner party. Will not be going back to North Shore Farms again, I will be going elsewhere, not happy with the false advertising. read more

Solid place! This isn't a full food shopping type of place it's more like pick up a few things kind of place. It's somewhat pricey for the prepared foods in my opinion but they are convenient. Decent supply of fruits and veggies. The deli section has lots of salads and other types of to-go foods with some healthier alternatives. I'm not super crazy about the wings or the soups. Never tried the sushi. The bakery area is small but decent. The have a small selection of cakes. The pizza and spinach pie are probably my favorites from the bakery area. There is also a large cheese and other charcuterie foods selection. Also they have some nice European imports too. The beer selection is actually pretty good too.- they had some imports and other harder to find brands. Just be careful in the parking lot... it's usually crazy. read more

New ownership? Was that one of the new owners two weeks ago who opened his jeep door right into a customer's car door? (he was driving a dark jeep with a dent in the front passenger side). This was the same person I saw cruising the store on his cell phone without any concern for the customers (including those who had to move out of the way for him.) Perhaps it was just a rude person, but he certainly wasn't shopping. And where are all the delightful employees who had been working here? And what's with the new prices glued on top of the old prices? Are they changed by the hour? Could their prices be any higher?? (obviously yes, but wow -- the produce is very expensive). The newest location. I have always been a fan of North Shore Farms- they have a consistently good selection of items but have always been in Nassau... well not any more! This location just opened and I couldn't be happier. They have a great selection of cheeses, fruits and veggies, and deli items that are always priced well and fresh. General grocery items, gluten free, organic - you name it, they have it here. This is a very good sized store- much bigger than the Mineola location and they are still stocking it with goodies- but so far, so good. The seafood department was hopping and they have a nice selection of meats. Fresh baked bread is available daily - baked on premises. Awesome. Deli- staff is amazing and cut cold cuts perfectly!!!!!! Love them!!! Friendly, helpful and just the best! Bakery- the one lady is so sweet. Breads are all amazing and so good! Butcher area- the marinated chickens and filet mignon kabobs are amazing!!! A little pricey but very good! All the meats are pretty good here! The one start missing is because my relative had the already made wings from the deli once and she had food poisoning (this was about 2 years ago) . It was horrible! Also the already made grilled chicken from the deli is very tasteless and bland. But after what happened to my relative I dont go near the already made food anymore. Ps- the spanakopita is no good....not made correctly. I'm Greek I know spanakopita and that's not a good one. Overall this market has some good stuff. Just bit pricier than other markets. Pss- their prosciutto bread is sooo goood! It, what pisses me off is they use to be huge when they first opened and the size has reduced dramatically and the price stayed the same. My go-to place for fresh meat, chicken, fish! Low cost + good quality = awesome deal. Produce is hit or miss, and can be pricey. Nice bakery and prepared food section. Store is small compared to the Stop & Shop types, so limited variety of dry goods and frozen section. read more

Yupo, it's a supermarket. I know. Really, what do we need to review a supermarket for? But, this area has been pretty starved for a decent not Shop-Right/Rite Aid supermarket like option for a few years, so forgive my little bit of gushing. The best thing about this place is that they have fresh salads, hot food, and many prepared dishes, which means there's always a busy lunch crowd. Additionally, there is a cute seating area where you can go, and it's never full. As for the supermarket aspect, it is what it is. Has all of your basics and then some, and they always keep it clean. Quite a large amount of foreign items. We've decided that the owner must be Greek because there are a lot of random and very specific greek items. Can also find flake bars! It's a good place to pop down to buy what you need at the standard prices. Produce also always looks good...and those prices are comparable to other supermarkets. The only problem with this store, and really, it isn't their fault, is that the traffic is now TERRIBLE! The drivers in this locations were always pretty dodgy, but now it's just insane. They had to change the direction of some of the "streets" within the lot, and have added stop signs, but nobody pays any attention to them. Driver BEWARE! read more

I really wanted to like this store. I truly did. The store itself is really tiny & cramped. Most aisles you can't get a cart going in both directions down. The produce is ok. I was enjoying the muscot grapes when they first opened. Fish department smells terribly fishy giving you the impression everything has gone bad. It smells so bad I have to rush past it so I won't be purchasing fish here at any time The butcher counter is small the variety just isn't there compared to other specialty markets the prices can be high and the quality just ok. The cheese selection is nice but I have to say I'm very put off by the way they handle samples here. Just a large bowl of bread that everyone sticks their hands in not even a pair of tongs and open dips and spreads that always look abused -- I'm always surprised people are digging their hands in & smearing their bread with this stuff. Looks like a health hazard to me! Cashiers are not the friendliest. A little courtesy or a simple thank you for bagging goes a long way. I'll probably only return if I need something in a pinch. read more

Best grocery store in the area! I completely dumped Stop & Shop for North Shore. Everything is always so fresh and they have a fantastic selection. From their produce department to seafood and meats, there is always a freshness factor. The store is very clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. NSF has a fantastic bread selection and I can always find something good at the deli. So glad they opened! Update!! This place was great when it first opened and has totally gone down the tubes! Every time I go there I end up with meat that goes bad in a day (4 days before it should be used), various expired items and nasty produce. The only thing I would recommend is the bread and the desserts! Might as well just go to the bakery for those two though! read more

Earlier this afternoon I bought 2 containers of fresh shredded mozzarella cheese and 2 jars of alfredo sauce... I was prepping a lasagna for dinner and had to THROW IT ALL AWAY BECAUSE THE MOZZARELLA WAS SOUR!!! The sell-by date on the container was 12/21!!!! I give this place a try every few months for lack of other food options in the area. Disappointed every time. The place is so clean and the food looks inviting but why is everything so overpriced and BLAND?! It's underseasoned or just plain gross. I recently bought prepared potato salad and some asian dumplings for a bbq. My husband literally spit out the dumplings because they were so gross. So I know it's not just me. As a frugal gentleman when it comes to shopping, I was admittedly skeptical when North Shore Farms opened in Commack. However, after giving them a shot I have nothing but GREAT things to say. The fish market alone gets them 5 stars. Lobster prices are at a 20 year low and they are one of the few places passing this on to the consumer. $4.99 - $5.99 for live Maine lobster. Well thank you very much. Clams, 3 dozen for $10 all the time? Steamers $2.99 lb? Quality Monkfish, swordfish, tuna, trout, whole fish of all varieties. Been dying for a go to fish place like this.
