This A & W location offers table service, and it is worth it versus drive-though to experience drinking your float in a frosty mug while listening to retro 50's and 60's songs, like Jailhouse Rock. While I'm not a big fan of the food here other than the cheese curds, the floats are worth the calorie splurge and entertainment value. Once you insert a straw in the ice cream mound sealing the root beer, the soda floods over the glass lava-style as if it were shaken up. It is hilarious watching people frantically trying to lap up their explosive treats like hound dogs at a pace faster than that of the overflow! The genius who crafted these floats was clearly inspired by a volcano-building science contest from their youth. Forget singing the Star-Spangled Banner...the most patriotic thing one can do when driving through Baldwin is to stop here for cheese curds and floats.
