We really enjoy the bootcamps, which have a capped # of participants to allow more focused instruction & the drills are designed for all ages & experience levels - you definitely get your money's worth. If you continue to attend or book private lessons, they will work to make sure your daughter (or son) to continually progress to develop and improve their skills in general or in a specialty you choose to go - pitching, catching, hitting, slapping, etc. It feels personal and individual and the knowledge and instruction is invaluable. The staff members I've encountered are all very professional, courteous, and friendly - always smiling and encouraging. They always promote good sportsmanship, have great energy, and always have a positive word at the end of every session. It's a total package. We haven't tried their weekly summer camps, but I've heard from other parents they are really great and their kids enjoy the activities - never bored and always occupied.

They have everything we need plus more! As a longtime softball mom who moved here 3 years ago shocked to find the indoor/outdoor training facilities were obsolete here I'm so glad to find this place so close to home! Florida weather during sports seasons calls for covered options and now that 5 tool is open I don't have to worry about my daughter's practice/training time being interrupted by the occasional shower storm. And just to reiterate the staff here are the best I've found in town. They are tough and patient but not afraid to push the kids to their top performance. Very happy to be a part of the family here!!

The skills they learned, both athletically and personally, carried over to the the big field as they transitioned to the local recreational league. Communication is poor, and the program feels disorganized. For a club that promises high-level training, the execution falls completely short. Would not recommend. We stand by our original review and are disappointed that Bold City Soccer Association chose to focus its response on us rather than addressing the specific concerns we raised about the U12 program. Our comments were based on our actual experience at the U12 level and were intended to reflect our concerns about leadership, communication, coaching, organization, and player development. Families are entitled to provide honest feedback about their experience, just as a club is entitled to disagree with it. What we strongly disagree with is the suggestion that raising concerns about how our child was coached or treated constitutes "disrespect," "belittling," or "unreasonable pressure" toward staff. Advocating for your child and asking legitimate questions about coaching decisions should not be characterized that way. We have supported son and the club for years, and our concerns did not come from a lack of commitment to the program. They came from wanting him to be in an environment where he is challenged, developed, respected, and supported. Ultimately, our decision to leave the program speaks for itself. We wish the players and families well, but remain disappointed in how our concerns were handled and in the club's decision to respond defensively rather than simply acknowledge that our experience with the U12 program was very different from the one being portrayed.

He's made great friends through the games and has developed a real passion for the sport. Most importantly, his confidence in the sport has grown tremendously, and we're very grateful to his coach for that.

The Players Championship is one of the creme-de-la-creme events on the PGA Tour. It's the Tour's…read moreflagship event. As of 2021, it has the biggest purse ($15,000,000) and winner's share ($2,700,000) among all Tour events. Yes, the Tour Championship pays more. In 2019, the Tour Championship's "bonus pool" reached a record $70,000,000 with $15,000,000 going to the 1st place winner alone, but that money isn't considered official earnings by the Tour. Instead, it's considered FedExCup "bonus money." The Players Championship is often regarded as the "fifth major." It's a prestigious event that draws top-notch fields year in and year out. The event is owned and operated by the PGA Tour. It's held annually in March (previously May) at TPC Sawgrass where the Tour's national headquarters are located. TPC Sawgrass has two courses, the famous Players Stadium Course where this tournament takes place, and the lesser-known, but still great Dye's Valley course, designed by legendary course architect Pete Dye and Bobby Weed. The Players Stadium Course is unique and stunning, filled with numerous water hazards and large, long bunkers that run parallel to many of the fairways. Like the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale where the Waste Management Phoenix Open is held and Augusta National Golf Club where the Masters is held, The Players Stadium Course was designed with spectators in mind. The par-3 17th hole island green is one of the most iconic in golf. The course has appeared in several video games, most notably EA Sports' PGA Tour. Oh yeah and the clubhouse? Talk about one of the most beautiful and grandiose in golf. The Players Stadium Course is also made for TV. The TV coverage, which has been handled by NBC and Golf Channel in recent years, is second only to CBS and the Masters, in my opinion. I'm sure it has to do with the Tour's complete involvement with this course and event. Like the Masters, in addition to limited commercial interruptions, coverage of The Players includes better-than-average shot tracking and statistics and video-game-like 3D models of the greens for enhanced analysis. Many of golf's biggest names and greatest players have won this event. Congratulations to the latest Players champion, Justin Thomas, who won this year (2021). I've never seen JT so emotional after a win than after he won The Players this year. Some of my favorite players to win in the past decade include Jason Day (2016), Rickie Fowler (2015), Tiger Woods (2013), and Matt Kuchar (2012 - Go Jackets!). Rory McIlroy (2019), Webb Simpson (2018), Sergio Garcia (2008), and Phil Mickelson (2007) have also won. Jack Nicklaus has the most wins (3) followed by Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Hal Sutton, Davis Love III, and Tiger (all tied at 2 each). However, Jack's three victories occurred before the tournament moved to TPC Sawgrass in 1982. I will end this review with two memorable moments at The Players on 17. In 2015, Kuch chipped one-handed with his back to the green: https://twitter.com/PGATOUR/status/1369634412778954758. In 2019, Kevin Na walked his putt in and Tiger followed suit: https://twitter.com/PGATOUR/status/1369276659300524032.

Not gonna lie, the Korn Ferry Tour is far from the most entertaining thing to watch, but what…read moreprofessional sports developmental league is? Practically speaking, the Korn Ferry Tour and lesser tours are great ways for still really, really good golfers to earn a living playing a sport they're good at. It also allows more golf courses around the country, plus the Bahamas and Central and South America, to host "PGA Tour" events (the Korn Ferry Tour is the top developmental tour for the PGA Tour). While hardly any of golf's superstars have played on the Korn Ferry Tour, there are still several players who've grinded their way through and ended up making a name/career for themselves on the PGA Tour. They include 1996 British Open champion and 2006 Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman, 2009 British Open champion Stewart Cink, Chad Campbell (who has finished in the top 5 in three different majors), 2007 Masters and 2015 British Open champion Zach Johnson, and 2016 PGA Championship winner Jimmy Walker. There are also a bunch of relatively lesser-known players who've had success on the Korn Ferry Tour and have won tournaments on the PGA Tour. Recent examples include Sungjae Im (2020 Honda Classic champion), Wesley Bryan (2017 RBC Heritage champion), and Chez Reavie (winner of the 2008 RBC Canadian Open and 2019 Travelers Championship). In 2017 and 2018, the Korn Ferry Tour, then known as the Web.com Tour, made sports headlines when Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors played in the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in the Bay Area (Hayward, California). Both years, he got in on sponsor exemptions, causing a little controversy, and both years, he missed the cut. He had a respectable showing in 2017, though, shooting 74 (+4) each of the first two days. Currently, there's a bit of controversy surrounding 2000 Masters champion and 1998 and 2004 PGA Championship winner Vijay Singh's decision to sign up to play in next month's Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Sawgrass. Vijay is following the rules and in my opinion, he's earned the right to play in the tournament. Plus, it's not like he's circa-2000 Vijay about to come in and blow away the field. The Korn Ferry Tour began in 1990 and was known as the Ben Hogan Tour through 1992. Like tournaments, the tour's sponsors have changed over the years. The Tour was subsequently known as the Nike Tour (1993-99), the Buy.com Tour (2000-02), the Nationwide Tour (2003-11), and the aforementioned Web.com Tour (2012-18). Korn Ferry's deal as the title sponsor lasts through the 2029 season.

We're going on our third year now. JFC has a bunch of programs: Rec, Bridge, Academy, Competitive. Rec League: We've had the same volunteer coaches for three years. They've all been great. No yelling, no "my kid is going to the MLS at age 9" energy. Just good people teaching kids how to play and have fun. My kids have gotten a lot better and more importantly, they actually enjoy playing. Rec uniforms aren't on any kind of cycle. You buy it once and your kid wears it until it doesn't fit anymore. Love that. Bridge Program: If your kid wants more than Rec but competitive sounds intense, Bridge is that perfect middle step. More structure, more skills, but still fun, and build confidence without getting overwhelmed. Competitive Program: My youngest is 6 and plays Competitive. The coaches are paid and trained. They've been really good with him. He's learning a ton and still comes off the field smiling, which is all I care about at this age. Uniforms (Bridge & Competitive): Those do run on a two-year cycle. They're not cheap (We Got Soccer never is), but at least you know you're good for two years. I won't sugarcoat it none of this is cheap, especially with three kids. A sibling discount would be amazing if they ever offer one. Facilities: Patton Park has good fields, one stadium field with lights, several full-size lit fields, and smaller ones. Grass is usually in great shape. Parking is a nightmare (just being honest), bathrooms are okay, and the concession stand has saved us more than once on long soccer weekends. My kids love it. The coaches have been great. The community is solid. And out of every soccer league we've tried in Jacksonville, JFC has been the one where my kids grew the most and actually had fun doing it, and that's what matters.

The club offers several programs, some being recreational, academy, and competitive. It's a lot to navigate. On the REC side, the coaches are volunteers. We've been lucky with the volunteer coaches we gotten (and kept for the last 3 years), they've been knowledgeable, professional, and kind (not one has yelled at the kids or been disrespectfully competitive). They've kept the game fun and competitive for the kids. I've seen a lot of growth in my kids abilities and confidence. It's an added bonus that the parents are chill too. The competitive program has paid, trained coaches. I have one kid who does competitive. No complaints. The coach was good. My kid (6y) learned soccer skills and most importantly, had fun. Yes, it's expensive. A sibling discount (any discount) would be helpful if offered. Uniforms are purchased through We Got Soccer, also pricey, but unlike other leagues, JFC doesn't force you into buying new ones every year. My kids have worn the same uniforms for three years and they've held up great. The club offers a free training session for kids that also serve as informational sessions for the parents. They're essentially informational where you can talk with staff, ask questions, and learn how the programs work while the kids play. The facilities at Patton Park are solid: one lit full-size stadium field, multiple lit full-size fields, and a few unlit junior fields. The grass is usually in good shape and the environment feels professional. Parking is a beast, even with a huge lot! The bathrooms are... meh. Could definitely be better. And the on-site food concession is a nice bonus during long game days. Overall, JFC delivers good coaching and solid competition (especially if your kids want to go all the way aka college).
